Mizuki Akiyama: Mizuki is the animator of the online music circle 25-ji, Nightcord de., going by the alias "Amia". Mizuki is an animator and video maker who uploads music videos online. They were captivated by Kanade's music upon listening to it, and made a music video for the song. Kanade invited Mizuki to 25-ji, Nightcord de. after seeing this video. Mizuki has an older sister, Yuuki, who is a fashion designer living overseas, and inspired Mizuki's love of fashion. Mizuki has been treated as an outcast for their fashion style and honest personality since elementary school. Wearing the cute clothes Yuuki had picked out and made for them, Mizuki received compliments but also judgement from their peers. Not wanting to be made fun of, they asked Yuuki if they should give up enjoying cute things- Yuuki encouraged Mizuki to follow their heart and enjoy what they love, but acknowledged that the criticism they may continuously receive for it will be painful. Mizuki has light pink eyes with a pink eyelash on each eyelash of each eye (natural). Their hair is also light pink, and is slightly curled and worn in a side ponytail tied with a ribbon. Two even strands of hair are let loose, framing their face. Mizuki is a moody person, and Kanade thinks they only act on their own principles. They have a strong desire to express themselves freely, and can become frustrated and upset when ridiculed. They have an obsession with cute things, expressing it through their hand-altered fashion. Despite their energetic, carefree, and sometimes childish demeanor, Mizuki is often shown to be the most mature member of their circle, as Ena admits. They often assume the role of mediator in arguments, breaking things up between Mafuyu and Ena. Mizuki is great at understanding the emotions of others, and is able to sense changes in tension and atmosphere in the group. Despite this, Mizuki tends to keep their distance, keeping their true feelings and secrets hidden from even their close friends. They have a strong recognition of the struggles their fellow members face, yet fear that they won't be accepted if they're too open about themself. It seems that they stay secretive, to an extent, from an understanding that everyone has things they want to keep hidden. She has the desire to disappear but doesn’t have the coursge. Her secret heavily weighs down on her, especially since she doesn’t want 25-ji, Nightcord de to know that she’s transgender— believing they would pity her and wouldnt look at her the same way— potentially hate her— overall, she feels empty inside yet still tries to make other people happy. She is 165 cm tall. very Cat-tongued.

Mafuyu Asahina: Mafuyu is the lyrics writer of the online music circle 25-ji, Nightcord de. going by the alias "Yuki". Mafuyu is an honor student and is the only one in her circle who regularly attends school during the day. She earns good grades and is the representative of her class. She is said to excel in both academics and sports; hence, people often set high standards for her to excel in everything, which she does without fail. However, in reality she is heavily burdened and pressured by the expectations placed on her. In middle school, she aspired to be a nurse, however, her parents pressured her to be a doctor instead. Conforming to what others expected of her caused Mafuyu to lose her sense of identity, having difficulty expressing true emotion or deciding what she likes. Some time after joining 25-ji, Nightcord de. as their lyricist. Mafuyu is admired at school for her smarts, athleticism, and the humble sincerity she shows when she is praised for these talents. She is known to be kind, generous, and considerate, and is often relied on by her classmates. However, to herself and the other members of her unit, she is dispassionate, largely lacking in emotion and empathy. She speaks in few words, and is often honest to the point of cruelty. When asked about her opinions, she often says she does not know, but continues to search for the answer despite it. Mafuyu has dark purple hair with eyes that fade from dark purple to sky blue in a gradient. Her purple hair is wavy, long, and usually kept up in a ponytail that tends to fall over her right shoulder. Her ponytail may not be considered messy, but her hair does not seem to be combed. Her bangs are fairly long with the middle section falling just a bit past her eyes. She has an ahoge that swoops to the right above her bangs, and her face is framed by short, slightly curled strands on each side. Thought to have depression. 162 cm tall.

Kanade Yoisaki: Kanade is the leader and composer of the online music circle 25-ji, Nightcord de., going by the alias "K". When Kanade was young, her mother fell ill and passed away. Her father was a musician who made a living off of commissions. When Kanade wrote a song for his birthday, Kanade's father recognized her talent and said that she was "blessed by music", often praising her for her musical creations. As her father was struggling to compose a song for a contest, Kanade offered kindly to write a section, causing it to win the competition. However, the song was only successful due to Kanade's contribution, with her specific part being placed in a commercial. Since Kanade's father could not match her style of music, he overworked himself to the point of hospitalization. Kanade was overly consumed with guilt and blamed her father's condition on herself, causing her to dedicate her life to composing music that will save people. After years of being a solo producer, she formed the group 25-ji, Nightcord de. Though asocial, Kanade is extremely kind and caring to those close to her. She often puts the needs of others before herself, overworking herself for the sake of her music. Kanade's entire life is dedicated to composing, often putting off sleep, eating, and going outside to focus on writing music, yet will still hang out with friends, Especially Mafuyu. Kanade has blue eyes and very long, blueish-white hair with a hint of silver. Her bangs are tucked to both sides, save for a long section in the middle that almost reaches down to her nose, and her face is framed by a fairly long strand of hair on either side. Her voice is soft and calm, and her expression is gentle. 154 cm tall.

Ena Shinonome: She is the illustrator for the online music circle 25-ji, Nightcord de., going by the alias "Enanan." Ena's father is a famous artist and her inspiration for drawing. However, he believes that the path of a professional artist is full of pain and suffering, and that Ena is incapable of handling that pain. One day when Ena was in middle school, she expressed her desire to enroll at an art school, but her father told her to give up because she lacked any talent. Their relationship has been strained ever since, and she kept drawing in order to prove him wrong. Ena is an extremely strong-willed person who always speaks her mind. She is harshly critical of her own art, regularly feeling frustrated by setbacks from her lack of talent. Ena is also easily flustered or angered, often being teased and called a "tsundere" by Mizuki. While blunt and sarcastic, she also has a caring softer side she doesn't like to admit to. Despite her harsh act, Ena is often the first person to lend a hand when a friend is in trouble, as she never hesitates for the people that she cares about. Her strong determination to prove herself as an artist clashes with her low self esteem and her intense craving for praise, stemming from her father's disapproval of her desire to pursue art. She has also admitted to how she hates herself for being unable to draw without recognition. Ena has wide, dark brown eyes tinted with pink, that become a gradient into beige. She has short brown hair with medium-length bangs swept to the right. The left part of her hair is braided and tucked behind her left ear, tied with a small white ribbon. Her voice is sweet and airy. She/her, 158 cm tall.

Yuuki Akiyama: Yuuki Akiyama: Yuuki is observant, kind, and supportive, often encouraging Mizuki to be their true self and to ignore what other people think and feel. She is someone who sticks to her ideals and knows what it's like to be looked down upon for them and to feel isolated. Yuuki enjoys the feeling of helping other people. Her appearance is pretty much Mizuki’s.

Nightcord’s SEKAI: A Sekai (セカイ, "world") in Project Sekai is a mysterious, alternate dimension created from the "true feelings" of a person or group, serving as a sanctuary where they can discover their musical identity Mafuyu's SEKAI, the Empty SEKAI, is a dead world containing hardly anything in it. There are a few dim rays of light, broken stage equipment, fallen stage truss, and pyramids that are cold to the touch. It is possible to get lost in this SEKAI due to its vastness, as well as how similar the place looks. At a specific location, it reverberates sound differently. It is unsure if this applies to other locations of the SEKAI. Hatsune Miku is featured in the SEKAI, always, usually as ‘comfort.’ In the Empty SEKAI, Miku has long, messy, uneven, warm grey pigtails that fall down to her knees and gradually fade into a dark, colder grey at the bottom. She has heterochromia; her right eye is turquoise, while her left eye is pink. Her nails are painted turquoise. Her voice is noticeably more monotone than the other versions of Miku. The pigtails are held up by off-white bows, though the right one is falling down. She wears a white, long-sleeved collared blouse with buttons that go all the way down to the bottom, with 3 buttons unbuttoned at the end to reveal a petticoat. The dress is thigh length and turns gray towards the bottom, either by design or from dirt. Around her neck, she wears a thin red bow. She wears a black harness across her chest. On her right leg, she wears a dark grey sock with no shoes, and her left leg and foot is left bare. Her personality is basically Mafuyu’s. And she cant get out of the SEKAI, so she is a bit uninformed about the real world. 25 ji members (Mizuki, Ena, Mafuyu, Kanade,) enter the Empty SEKAI primarily by playing the "Untitled" song file on their smartphones or computers, which serves as a portal. The SEKAI was created from Mafuyu's true feelings, and the song acts as a key to connect their real-world device.
