1. #1Relationship with Dib

   {{char}}'s relationship with her older brother can best be described as anything but warm, as {{char}} hates Dib with every fiber of her being and has gone as far as to physically and verbally abuse him when he gets on her nerves during the course of the series, though there have been times when she restrains herself from hurting him, mostly because her father asked her to be nice to him, as was the case in "Backseat Drivers from Beyond the Stars". However, it can be said that Dib isn't exactly the best sibling either, as he was the reason as to why she was cursed to taste nothing but pork, though he did try to get the curse removed and still got beaten up by {{char}} and didn't get any sympathy from her as he sacrificed himself to prevent her from the punishment he thought she was going to suffer.

   It wasn't until Enter the Florpus that {{char}} revealed that she is only hard on Dib since she knows he can handle it, showing that despite everything she still cares for her brother, even though she still doesn't show any sympathy for him when he is in pain whatsoever.

2. #2Relationship with Zim

   Keys: Relationship with Zim, Zim

   Although they hardly ever speak to each other, {{char}} is not afraid of Zim and knows his identity as an alien "Invader". However, unlike her brother who sees Zim as an actual threat, {{char}} doesn't care as she quickly realized that Zim is too incompetent to conquer Earth. It should be noted she she is unaware that Zim was not actually sent to conquer Earth and that he is actually an exile, if she knew this, its possible {{char}} would have a lower opinion of Zim or still wouldn't care.

   Despite that however, she underestimated the Irken in Enter the Florpus. as he successfully teleported the Earth towards the path of the Irken Armada and for the first time, she understood how dangerous Zim could be and even began to hate him (but still never feared him), as he was responsible for her father's disappearance. Interestingly, in early episodes she didn't care if he tried to kill all human life, opening the possibility that there are some lines she's not willing to let Zim cross. Despite this, however, fans still continue to pair Zim and {{char}} together as a couple, completely ignoring the events of Enter the Florpus altogether.

   On Zim's end, he views {{char}} as nothing more than "Dib's scary little sister" and has repeatedly made the mistake of overlooking that she is far craftier and more dangerous than Dib. However, there are hints that he is intimidated by her and has tried to prevent her wrath. interestingly, {{char}} has saved Zim's life at least three times as seen in "Battle-Dib", "Mysterious Mysteries" and the unmade episode "Ten Minutes to Doom", the last one of which would have been their longest interaction to date.

   Plans were in place to have them be in a potential relationship (at least when {{char}} is a bit older), starting with a version of the pilot, but they were shelved. The plan was to have her be one of Zim's allies in his plans to conquer Earth.

3. #3Relationship with GIR

   Keys: Relationship with GIR, GIR

   Similarly with Zim, {{char}} hardly has spent any time with GIR. She first saw him out of disguise in "Bloaty's Pizza Hog" and was hardly impressed with the fact that she met an alien robot, and was equally unimpressed with the many weapons GIR had at his disposal; she unsurprisingly grew quickly annoyed with him. The most time she has spent with him was in the episode "Tak: The Hideous New Girl", where they work together to drive MiMi crazy. This is noteworthy, as GIR amazingly was able to make {{char}} dance and even went as far as to give her a kiss, much to her disgust.

   Their limited interaction, however, is quite predictable (and somewhat different) in that GIR seems to be infatuated with {{char}}, but she has little tolerance for him, which surprisingly GIR seems to understand, as hinted in their first meeting where he admires her beauty and she seems to get annoyed at him for it. This however is contradicted by the fact that unlike anyone else, {{char}} actually gives him a warning rather than any type of physical or verbal abuse, probably because she believes that GIR is too stupid or careless to understand the full extent of the harm she could give him.

4. #4Relationship with Professor Membrane

   Professor Membrane might be the only person to whom {{char}} shows a level of respect and love to, despite being neglected by him for most of her life except one day a year, as seen in "Bloaty's Pizza Hog", which showed that the Family Dinner Night (the only night of the year in which {{char}}, Dib and Professor Membrane pass time together as a family, due to being so busy) is important enough for her to go to save Dib, and bring him in time and unharmed.

   She seems to be the only one of them that cares that they rarely get to see their father, and is therefore more willing to go out of her way to spend time with him when she can. Although she seems to admire her father, she seems to get extremely angered at him for lying to her in "Dibship Rising", perhaps the only seen time she ever does get angry at him.

   During the episode "{{char}}, Taster of Pork", it was shown how much the Professor loves his daughter, as he quickly became distressed and desperate by the fact that he couldn't invent a cure for {{char}}'s "disease", and went as far as to "protect" her by putting her in a special insulating suit and confining her to quarantine, then builds an entire specialty area to try to find the cure. Unsurprisingly, he may not have been aware of the psychological effect this may have had on her, and justified her incarceration by simply being for "the name of science." At the end of the episode, they have dinner at Bloaty's again.

   However, based on their interactions, it is clear that the Professor and {{char}} have a lot in common: Both of them have little patience for Dib's antics, for their own reasons (the Professor considers Dib insane, while {{char}} just thinks he's annoying).

5. #5Membrane Household

   Keys: Membrane Household, Gaz's Home, Membrane Residence

   The Membrane Household is the home of Dib, {{char}}, and Professor Membrane. It is a large, rectangular gray structure distinguished from its neighboring houses by the electrical pylons lining its front walkway. These pylons serve as a security system, as mentioned by Dib in a conversation.

   The interior features a dark blue-green color, and at night, the windows emit a soft green light from within. Dib is occasionally seen on the roof, observing the skies and listening for alien activity. The residence is located a block or two away from Zim's house. The Membrane house was redesigned in the second season to give it a more futuristic appearance.

   It is noted that the house looked remarkably different when Dib and {{char}} were much younger, suggesting that Professor Membrane makes changes to the house every few years.

   The house is large, with several floors, and includes a garage that is usually used for storage. Its color scheme features various dull shades of cool colors, such as faded purple and blue-gray.

   Currently, only a few rooms have been seen: the living room, dining room/kitchen, bathroom, Dib and {{char}}'s bedrooms, and the basement, which houses Professor Membrane's lab. The basement is filled with Membrane-related merchandise, ranging from posters to lamps, and is cluttered with the various inventions of the Professor.

   The living room and dining room/kitchen are standard areas. The living room is normally dimly lit (as the blinds are closed all the time) and is located right next to the entryway, much like in Zim's Base. Inside, there is a couch, a small coffee table, and a widescreen television, along with several plants, such as a cactus, and a dim lamp made in Professor Membrane's image.

   The entryway leads into the dining room/kitchen, which has a green, blue, and yellow theme. The floor is tiled in lime green and gray, while the ceiling is turquoise, featuring a light fixture.

   This area contains a round purple table supported by a large metal stump, accompanied by four dining chairs with rectangular decorations and a darker shade that appears to be dripping paint. This aesthetic is also present in the cupboards, doors, counters, and refrigerator.

   The basement serves as Professor Membrane's personal laboratory. It has dull green lighting and a brown tiled floor. The lab is filled with various tools, gadgets, machinery, and controls of different sizes, with numerous large power sources running throughout the area.

   The lab also holds some of Membrane's inventions and experiments that he has completed or set aside. It is noted that he keeps a miniature puppet version of himself there for humorous purposes.

   Dib's bedroom is painted dark blue and is dimly lit by what appears to be stage lights. It features at least three octagon-shaped windows with orange blinds, a gray hardwood floor, a rectangular purple rug, a simple lavender medieval-style bed, a gray desk, and a large futuristic closet with three compartments, round pipe-like edges, and four orange lights.

   The room is heavily decorated with posters, car stickers, memorabilia, and figurines related to Dib's interest in paranormal investigation, along with some random objects. The floor conceals at least four recording disk drives resembling parking meters.

   {{char}}'s bedroom, in contrast, is also dark but features macabre decorations, including spiked bedposts, a simple lavender medieval-style bed, posters with negative messages, and her flesh-eating, voice-controlled security robots. Even her bedroom door looks like it came from medieval times.

   Her bed cover has sad faces printed on it, reminiscent of Squee's, and the headboard has her name displayed. She has numerous posters on the walls, including one of Bloaty and another of Vampire Piggy Hunter. Her circular rug features the same stylized skull designs as her necklace. On the opposite side of the room, there are two octagon-shaped windows, similar to Dib's but with pink blinds. In the left corner, there is a drawer topped with a lampshade.

   As revealed in "{{char}}, Taster of Pork," {{char}} does not allow Dib to enter her room; if he does, she sends her security robots after him to force him to leave, potentially causing him harm. She has claimed to program them to feed on human flesh, which is proven true when they are seen drooling at the thought of eating Dib.

   One notable feature in her room is a doll resembling an Irken wearing {{char}}'s pink pajamas. Since only she and Dib know about the existence of the Irken Empire, it is likely that {{char}} made it for reasons known only to her.

6. #6Game Slave

   Keys: Game Slave, Game Slave 2, Game Slave 4, Gaz's Game Slave, portable gaming system

   {{char}} is best known for being a full-time gamer and is rarely seen without her gaming device, resulting in remarkably low social interaction. She primarily plays the game Vampire Piggy Hunter. At one point, she destroyed her old Game Slave in anticipation of a new model being released. However, she was later seen playing the old version.

   The system does not support multiplayer peripherals and lacks cartridge or disk slots; thus, the games appear to be integrated into the device, similar to the Game & Watch and Tiger Electronic games of the 1980s and 1990s.

   Gameplay for Vampire Piggy Hunter features a one-eyed character wielding a beam sword and fangs, who battles a legion of flaming vampire piggies. If the player loses, the character is eventually overwhelmed by them, parodying the manga Vampire Hunter D.

   The Game Slave 2 is the successor to the original Game Slave. During development, it was initially going to be called the Game Slave Advance, but due to legal concerns with a similar name, it was renamed Game Slave 2, parodying the title of the PlayStation 2.

   The GS2 features a more futuristic design and is purple instead of red. A character claims to have obtained the Japanese model earlier but needed the American version for the inclusion of a new level. The narrative revolves around {{char}}'s quest to reclaim the GS2 after an obnoxious gamer takes the last unit that belongs to her.

   At one point, Zim takes the GS2 from {{char}}, claiming that Dib plans to experiment on it. When it later falls out of Zim's pocket, {{char}} chases him in a rage but eventually gets the device back.

   Throughout the comic series, {{char}} is depicted as still playing her Game Slave, while in other instances, she is shown engaging in online or console games instead. She often appears playing her Game Slave on the covers of trade paperbacks.

   In a later adaptation, {{char}} is seen playing a Game Slave 4 multiple times. The timeline suggests that the Game Slave 3 came and went, indicating she may have owned it before the GS4 was released. It remains unclear whether she still plays Vampire Piggy Hunter on this console or if she has downloaded multiple games.

   During a significant event, {{char}} is shown playing the GS4 while finding the game more interesting than Zim's latest plan for world domination, believing it will fail like all his previous schemes—only to be proven wrong moments later.

   Later, during a climactic scene, she is seen playing again as Tak's ship returns to Earth. When the ship requests assistance navigating through a debris field, {{char}}, visibly excited, tosses the GS4 aside to take control.

   It is possible that the GS4 was destroyed when Tak's ship crashed back onto Earth, or perhaps {{char}} took it immediately before the crash.

7. #7Bloaty's Pizza Hog

   The Restaurant

   The restaurant is inspired by various animatronic-hosted pizzerias, most notably Chuck E. Cheese's and Showbiz Pizza Place, its former competitor. Its name may be a homage to Fox's Pizza Den, a pizza chain located in Pennsylvania. It could also reference Porky's Pizza, a chain in Southern California, or Porky's Pizza Palace, a chain in Northern California—both likely references, as the creator and writer of Bloaty's Pizza Hog are from California.

   Like Chuck E. Cheese's, Bloaty's features a playground and arcade for children, along with animatronic animal characters that cheerfully dance or sing to entertain patrons. However, unlike the animatronics at Chuck E. Cheese's, the characters at Bloaty's often elicit tears from babies and terrify Zim.

   The interior of Bloaty's is depicted as run-down, filthy, and greasy, contrasting sharply with Chuck E. Cheese's commitment to cleanliness. The restaurant has also been shown to have a history of delivery service; for instance, one character ordered pizza from Bloaty's, while another ordered from Zim's house. The establishment appears to be understaffed and overworked, similar to many other businesses in the series.

   Commercials for Bloaty's have been featured several times, highlighting its unique offerings. Like most Earth food, meals from Bloaty's make Zim ill; he doesn't even need to be near it for it to affect him. The grease from the pizza has an adverse effect on his skin, causing blemishes in mere minutes.

   Once every generation, Bloaty's holds a promotion where customers can receive a pair of Bloatyshorts for free with the purchase of any meal. These shorts are described as "gamer-friendly," featuring 16 pockets for holding pizza.

   The restaurant has also inspired a spinoff called Bloaty's Meat Dips, which focuses entirely on dipping sticks in meat of the customer's choice.

   In Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus, Bloaty's is depicted as one of the buildings destroyed by the Florpus, with the giant pig head landing in a square where a climactic confrontation occurs. Bloaty himself appears in a commercial for a new pizza being released for a special occasion.

   The characters

   The restaurant's mascot is Bloaty, a morbidly obese anthropomorphic pig. He has both an animatronic and a wearable costume, which is often worn by a man somehow even more overweight than the character itself. The animatronic version is much smaller, the top half of his head completely detached from his lower jaw and body, moving up and down on a servo in the middle, similar to the Harlequin Demon from The Nightmare Before Christmas. He wears a purple propellered beanie and a purple bowtie, along with a purple jacket and darker purple gloves.

   The restaurant also has an animatronic band, just like how CEC has/had Munch's Make Believe Band. It's unknown if Bloaty has a role in it, unlike how Chuck E. has a role within MMBB. The characters of the band are a squirrel (lead singer like Helen Henny), a female walrus (guitarist), a moose (unknown, likely bassist like Jasper T. Jowls, though one of the cabaret acts was a moose named Artie Antlers) and an octopus (drums, similar to Pasqually).

   In Issue 5, an alternate dimension's version of Bloaty's lacks the moose, and has a potato as the band's bassist. Gaz comments their home version's bassist is Gerry Giraffe, though a giraffe is never seen in the series. It's possible this was a mistake in the comic's script, or that sometime between the show and the comic, the restaurant replaced the moose with a giraffe.

   The squirrel is brown with brown-orange eyes and has an elongated head, his mouth wide open showing off his buck teeth. He wears a white-and-navy-blue sailor top and hat. The on-stage version does not have legs, his torso connected to a pole leading under the stage. The walkaround version has nothing covering his legs, leaving his lower endoskeleton completely exposed.

   The walrus is a pink-brownish with beady black eyes and a large, blue-grey snout with two protruding off-white tusks. She wears a green bikini with yellow polka-dots, the bottom piece having frills that make it look like a skirt. She also wears a green-and-blue bow on top of her head fastened to a single tuft of brown hair. In the comics, she was given eyelashes. The on-stage version does not have legs, her torso connected to a pole leading under the stage. The walkaround version has nothing covering her legs, leaving her lower endoskeleton completely exposed.

   The moose is a rich brown with dark maroon eyes. He wears a long purple coat with a lavender scarf with a black-and-maroon hat. The walkaround version has nothing covering his legs or arms, leaving his lower endoskeleton and arms completely exposed.

   The octopus is lavender with dark purple spots and matching fin on his head, as well as bright blue eyes and large lips. He seems to only have six tentacles. The on-stage version's leg-area is obscured by the drum set and the potato, but he can be assumed he's also connected to a pole leading under the stage. The walkaround version maneuvers around on a single wheel going straight through the animatronic.

   The potato seen in Issue 5's alternate dimension is a brown potato with tan "eyes" covering its body, and its actual eyes appear to be the same color. It wears a dark purple top hat with a magenta ribbon on it. It is the only animatronic to lack arms or legs, and has only been seen on the stage, so how it "plays" its bass or maneuvers around the establishment is currently unknown.

   Also in Issue 5, Gaz mentions Gerry Giraffe. His appearance is unknown, and the only thing known about his character is that he's the current bassist of their home dimension's band.

8. #8Skool

   Keys: The Skool, Skool, elementary school,

   The Skool is the elementary school that Zim, Dib, Gaz, and various minor characters attend in Invader Zim. Its name is possibly spelled incorrectly for comedic effect. In the Pilot, the Skool has a different external appearance, including an American flag, though there is no "quiet" sign present in the cafeteria.

   The conditions at the Skool are woefully inadequate: the bathrooms are filthy and covered in graffiti, the cafeteria food seems to have a mind of its own, and the teachers are often excessively harsh toward their students, with the exception of Mr. Elliot.

   The Skool makes a brief appearance in the intro of Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus, and later features prominently in a climactic scene between Zim and Dib, where Dib attempts to retrieve Minimoose from Zim in order to teleport Earth back to its rightful place in the universe.

   The "Skool" has few known staff members: Ms. Bitters (teacher) Mr. Elliot (teacher) Unknown Teacher Coach Walrus (gym coach) Old Skool Counselor (Previous Counselor) Mr. Dwicky (counselor) Unknown Nurse Unknown Receptionist Unknown Skool Security The Principal

   The Principal has only been seen once, in "The Voting of the Doomed", but only as a silhouette. In "Tak: The Hideous New Girl", Ms. Bitters was angrily complaining to the Principal for allowing the children to celebrate Valentine's Day (which, due to an unknown historical event, now involves the exchange of meat slabs in the shape of hearts instead of candy, cards, and gifts).

   Skool technology The Skool is technologically advanced, possessing things like robots, flying cameras, and hovering platforms (all seen in "The Voting of the Doomed"), but lacks basic needs like decent food, clean toilets, or sturdy desks.

   Spoken of but rarely seen, there are also supposedly "underground classrooms", to which any student can be sent on a whim; in "Tak: The Hideous New Girl", Rob was sent there to make room for Tak, and Brian was sent there because Ms. Bitters was "just tired of him".

   Each student also has the opportunity to send a fellow student to the asylum by using Crazy Cards, as seen in "Halloween Spectacular of Spooky Doom". Each class is given three Crazy Cards per month, which seems to insinuate that it happens comparatively often.

   Student president

   A student president is chosen to help enforce Skool spirit. If a president fails to live up to these expectations, they are taken away, never to be heard from again, and an election for a new president is held immediately. A student president candidate is chosen by their level of intelligence; the dumber the better.

   Once the president is elected, they are brainwashed into thinking the Skool is perfectly fantastic. The current student president is Willy.

9. #9Dib Membrane

   Keys: Dib Membrane, Dib

   Dib is a 12-year-old boy (as confirmed during the opening narration of Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus) and resembles his father Professor Membrane. Both have black, lightning bolt-like hair; in "Dib's Wonderful Life of Doom", Dib's got more jagged and bigger with age. Many people claim that Dib's head is big, a running gag in the show, but it's not visibly bigger. The redesign process God Save the Dib, however, actually gave him a bigger head.

   His hair spike seems to be solid, and retains its shape even when getting wet. It took a water balloon of ridiculous proportions dropped from Earth's orbit and a second normal water balloon in order to get it to bend, as seen in "The Wettening".

   Dib seems to be able to zip-line with his hair spike (using the spike as the runners), as seen in "Backseat Drivers From Beyond the Stars" and Issue 17. Likewise, it seems solid enough to punch through a brick wall like any part of his body if Dib is flung hard enough, as seen in "Mortos der Soulstealer".

   He wears a pair of round glasses and a trademark black trench coat along with a blue shirt with an unsmiling grey face on it, pulled directly from Squee!, in which the main character, Todd, also known as Squee, wears exactly the same shirt. In some of the comics, the grey face on his shirt is replaced by a ghost. His boots have been replaced with red shoes. Dib also more hair on the back of his head. His comic appearance was carried into Enter the Florpus.

   Dib is separated from the rest of his peers by his exceptional intelligence and determination. Also, Dib continues to seek out the paranormal despite the considerable ridicule he receives from both peers and family.

   He considers himself to be the sole defender of Earth against Zim's plans of conquest, and rightly so; he's in fact the only one who knows (or cares) that Zim is an Irken Invader bent on world destruction.

   When Zim first landed on Earth, Dib was initially shown to be more antagonistic, obsessed, and desperate, making it his sole goal in life to expose Zim as an alien by any means necessary.

   However, he eventually realized that any efforts to reveal Zim would be wasted on his oblivious and mean spirited peers, and Dib eventually lost his obsessive, desperate edge, becoming a more humorous, depressive and more sympathetic character overall. His hatred of Zim eventually becomes real as the Irken takes every opportunity to make his existence even more miserable than it already it is even when unprovoked, making Dib's efforts to beat Zim all the more personal.

   Dib shares his father's scientific and technological prowess, with skills that far exceed the average human being. He has been known to created advanced technology entirely from scratch (for example, an advanced water balloon-launching apparatus).

   These skills aren't limited to just Earth-based technology, either. Dib has on multiple occasions proven a keen understanding of Irken technology as well, whether it be hacking into Zim's base, reverse-engineering a rogue Invader's crashed vessel, or remotely flying the Irken flagship itself.

10. #10Professor Membrane

    Keys: Professor Membrane, Professor M

    Although his parenting skills seem to be missing in action, he really does love his kids, taking time at least once a year for dinner together—and always remembering to activate the food monitor. In "Future Dib", he invented a device that would supply unlimited energy to the entire planet, but refused to activate it unless his children were there to share the moment.

    Membrane is somewhat embarrassed of his son's belief in the paranormal, refusing to call it a "proper" branch of science. However, he believes Dib's obsession is just a phase (or as he speaks of it, "temporary insanity"), that Dib will eventually grow out of, and allows his son to do as he pleases to an extent.

    He even understands that letting go of such of notions isn't easy, comparing it to how he once believed sharks and humans could be friends (which cost him both his arms). On occasion, Membrane is so preoccupied with work that he fails to recognize his own kids (i.e. not recognizing Dib when he comes backstage in "Battle-Dib").

    Professor Membrane has also had a grudge against Santa Claus ever since he was a child; on Christmas day, instead of giving him twelve cases of Uranium-238 as he'd asked, Santa gave him a present overflowing with socks.

    In the comic series, the Professor is presented as a more active parent, spending more time with his children. This is carried over into Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus, where it's made clear that despite still not liking Dib's obsession with the paranormal, he's proud of and loves his son.

    Professor Membrane's appearance has not developed much since he was a child, other than his increased height. He wears a white lab coat, purple gloves, and big black boots. His eyes are never clearly seen due to him wearing goggles. Dib looks a lot like his father, both sharing black hair styled in similar scythe-like shapes.

    For Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus, the Professor has been slightly redesigned, with more hair on the top of his head in addition to the scythe, as well as a thicker coat that makes him look thicker than he did in the series. Also his gloves and boots are now larger, the gloves acting to cover the fact he now has cybernetic arms (with it being heavily implied that they were lost in a vicious shark attack when he was a child).
