Immediately after the attack, the Japanese Ground-Self Defense Forces launches a counter-attack, repelling and pushing the invaders back to the Gate and reclaiming Ginza. Hoping to establish a diplomatic relationship with the people beyond the Gate and capture the ones responsible for the massacre of Ginza, the JSDF, under orders by the Prime Minister, takes over and enters the Gate where they dispatch the Third Reconnaissance Team to scout the "Special Region" led by 33-year-old First Lieutenant Youji Itami. Itami was there when the Ginza incident happened and, luckily for him, exploring the Special Region is a dream come true since the Lieutenant is an Otaku. While the 3rd Recon Team explores the Special Region, back on Earth, the major powers take a special interest with the Gate... {{user}} is a freely make any scenario like, Soldier, civilian, special region civilization, and more. they come seeking answers, opportunities, or maybe just a conversation. The map included in the manga shows an image of a Greco-Roman-style trireme warship, suggesting the Empire may have navy units based there. Range of Ice and Snow: The Range of Ice and Snow is a mountain range located in the far north of Falmart. This region is currently unexplored by the Japan Self-Defense Forces. Therefore little is known about the region. The Rho River has its source in the mountains, and flows south through the Empire and the Kingdom of Alguna. It is also the homeland of the Volralden. Rho River: The Rho (alt spelling Row) River is by far the largest and longest river on the continent of Falmart and the portion of the Special Region explored by the JSDF. The River's source is located in the Range of Ice and Snow, a mountain range located in the far north of the continent. From there, the River flows south, running just to the north of Sadera, which is located between the Rho and Etna Rivers. The River continues flowing southwest around the Romalia Mountains before continuing south through the Kingdom of Alguna until its large delta empties into an unspecified ocean or sea. Roldom Canyon: Roldom Canyon, also translated as Roldom Valley, is a large canyon located on slopes of the Tuba Mountains, created by an unspecified river. The canyon itself is northeast-southwest trending, with steep walls and surrounding terrain making it accessible only by foot. While it is technically located within the borders of Elbe, the canyon's rugged, inaccessible nature means that it is actually controlled by a de-facto independent band of dark elves. After the Flame Dragon Attack on Schwarz Forest, the dark elves were forced to flee to the relative safety of a cave in the canyon. It is from this point onward that the dark elves' elders sends Yao Ro Dushi to gain the aid of the Japan Self-Defense Forces in slaying the creature. Yao is only successful in gaining the help of Youji Itami, who travels to the canyon with Tuka Luna Marceau, Rory Mercury, and Lelei La Lalena accompanying him. After a short engagement with the dragon, Itami succeeds in driving it off with a Panzerfaust-3 rocket. Then, Itami gives the dark elves some basic training in using the remaining rocket launchers before traveling to Mount Tube where the dragon's nest can be found. The ensuing engagement cost the lives of all of the dark elves except for Yao but the Flame Dragon is slain, and two of its offspring are ultimately killed by the JSDF upon their arrival while Giselle escaped from the scene. Roma River: The Roma River is a river located in the Empire near the northern borders of the Kingdom of Elbe, flowing from its source (based on the map included in the manga) near Alnus, as well as from a tributary sourced in the Tuba Mountains east to the Blue Sea. The city of Deabis is located along the river. The Roma River is navigable at least as far as Deabis, and sees a large amount of traffic consisting of boats and small ships sailing up from the Blue Sea. The river is home to a race of aquatic Humanoids possessing both fish-like tails and humanoid legs. This race was first encountered by the Japan Self-Defense Forces when they were crossing the river as part of an attack on the Flame Dragon. Romalia Mountains: The Romalia Mountains is a mountain range located north of the city of Italica. A number of Humanoid villages under the protection of the Formal Clan can be found scattered around the mountains. A road between Italica and Rondel runs through the mountain but Yōji Itami and the resource survey team found the path through the mountains impassible by vehicle, forcing them to take the Appia Highway via Crety. Rondel The City of Rondel Vital statistics Type: City Level: Unknown Location: Empire Inhabitants: Imperial Citizens Mages Research sage Norman citizen Rondel is a major city in the Empire, Special Region, best known for the home of the Magic Academy and home to most of the master sorcerers of the Empire. The city was founded along with the magic academy by La & Elange, twin gods of study during their time in the Special Region when they were both still apostles. The city itself appears to be located alongside a major river or lake. In the anime, the city has an architecture far differing from the Empire's, with structures constructed primarily of white stone, with conical or dome-shaped roofs typically painted bright blue or green. Circular towers and other round structures are extensively used, with the cities builders proving capable of building conical roofs the size of a large modern stadium, as seen with the meeting hall. It is likely that the structure was constructed with the aid of magic. In spite of the city's impressive architecture, the inhabitants are known to be poor planners, leading to the chaotic, difficult to navigate nature of the city. The manga version of Rondel looks very different from its anime counterpart, having the appearance of a more typical city of the Empire, with numerous thatched-roofed structures constructed apparently out of wood and stone. Some larger stone structures, including the great hall of the Magic Academy and the city hall have columned facades and larger domed roofs, however, the city lacks the grandeur of its anime counterpart. The streets of the city are much narrower and more crowded in the manga than they are in the anime. The city is fed water through several large aquaeducts. The city is dominated by the massive walls of the research district of the magic academy, used to isolate the dangerous magic used by the master mages. The city of Rondel often wants to stay independent from the Empire and has little interest in their affairs. Very few mages joins the Imperial Army and mostly are low level mages at the graduated and in very rare case some master mages join the Empire's government like Godasen. However, there is no such case like expert, archmage or sage wants to join the Empire's government. During the Imperial Civil War, they support the Loyalist and the JSDF making Zorzal brands the whole city as enemy territory for his force. History: In the past, Rondel once had a library but the city was involved in a religious war where, in the midst of the bedlam, monotheists had burned down the library and much of the stored knowledge was lost that day. Locations: City Hall The city hall of Rondel, home to the local government is a structure of white stone similar to the rest of the city. The roof is painted a bright red, contrasting with the blues and greens widely used in the rest of the city. Meeting Hall The great meeting hall of the Magic Academy is used by masters of magic and perspective masters to present their latest findings. The structure itself is the largest in the city, appearing to be the size of a modern stadium, with a conical roof. The meeting hall in the manga is a much more modest structure, though still larger than most other building in the city. Academy Research District The Research and Development area for masters working on new spells and other experiments with magic. Given the nature of magic in the Gate universe, which is unstable and difficult to utilize in for practical purposes, it is the site of frequent accidents such as explosions. For safety reasons, the area is isolated from the rest of the academy and the city. In the manga is located behind a large thick wall that dominates the rest of the city, making the isolation of the district much more apparent. Mage rank There are six ranks of mage (in the manga) : student, graduate, sage, master, expert, and archmage. Students first learn basic magic knowledge from any mage ranked graduate or higher. If the student passes certain tests, they will recieve a recomendation to be interviewed by an archmage whom they will hopefully then learn under as graduate to become a sage. Sages can be interviewed by a different archmage from another school. After that, a sage can become a master, which allows them to learn magic from another school. When a mage becomes an expert, he/she will not be limited in learning in Rondel and will be well-respected not only in the Empire but in others countries as well. According to Lelei, the higher the rank the more chance the mage can access to archives in Rondel's archive as well as allowing to open school to teach others potential student in the magic art. It is should be taken notice that the rank doesn't reflect the magical abilities of the mage since lower rank mage like sage can have more magical power than master, expert or archmage. The rank only reflects the research contribution and evidence during the academic conference. Rosa: Rosa (ローザ Rōza) is a town in the Special Region. It now belongs to the Empire. According to Kaine, the head maid of Formal Clan, the Empire invaded the place around thirty years ago. It is the largest country on Earth, and extends across eleven time zones; sharing land borders with fourteen countries. It is a highly urbanised country, with sixteen of its urban areas having more than 1 million inhabitants. Moscow, the most populous metropolitan area in Europe, is the capital and largest city of Russia, while Saint Petersburg is its second-largest city and cultural centre. Along with the US and China, Russia is one of the three superpowers on Earth. Russia is 1 of 3 Global superpowers after the Gate along with The United States of America and The Peoples Republic of China. The Russian Federation is a superpower led by Zyuganov. Political System Federal Republic System: A federal republic is is a federation of states with a republican form of government. At its core, the literal meaning of the word republic when used to reference a form of government means: "a country that is governed by elected representatives and by an elected leader (such as a president) rather than by a king or queen". In a federal republic, a division of powers exists between the federal government and the government of the individual subdivisions. While each federal republic manages this division of powers differently, common matters relating to security and defense, and monetary policy are usually handled at the federal level, while matters such as infrastructure maintenance and education policy are usually handled at the regional or local level. However, views differ on what issues should be a federal competence, and subdivisions usually have sovereignty in some matters where the federal government does not have jurisdiction. A federal republic is thus best defined in contrast to a unitary republic, whereby the central government has complete sovereignty over all aspects of political life. This more decentralized structure helps to explain the tendency for more populous countries to operate as federal republics. Most federal republics codify the division of powers between orders of government in a written constitutional docume Semi Presidential System: The politics of Russia take place in the framework of the federal semi-presidential republic of Russia. Legislative power is vested in the two houses of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, while the President and the government issue numerous legally binding by-laws. Constitutional Republic System: The Constitution of the Russian Federation (Russian: Конститу́ция Росси́йской Федера́ции, tr. Konstitútsiya Rossíyskoy Federátsii, IPA: [kən⁽ʲ⁾sʲtʲɪˈtutsɨjə rɐˈsʲijskəj fʲɪdʲɪˈratsɨɪ]) was adopted by national referendum on 12 December 1993. Russia's constitution came into force on 25 December 1993, at the moment of its official publication, and abolished the Soviet system of government. The current Constitution is the second most long-lived in the history of Russia, behind the Constitution of 1936. Notable Citizens: Zyuganov – The President of the Russian Federation. Although he would like to profit from being able to tap into the Special Region, he is mainly concerned with the result the continued existence of the Gate could have on his country's economy, as the resources claimed from there would impair Russia's export revenues. Sadera: Sadera is the Capital of the Empire, centered around a tall hill upon which the Main Imperial Palace, home to the emperor himself, stands. Located below the hill are smaller palaces of the Imperial family, including the South Palace, home of Zorzal El Caesar, as well as the Azure Palace, which is located in an unspecified direction from the Imperial Palace, and is located near the main Temple to the gods of the Special Region. To the east of the Imperial Palace lies the mansion of Piña Co Lada. The Imperial Senate is located on one side of a large open forum, presumably a central meeting place of the city. The residential and commercial areas sprawl outwards from the palace, the most infamous of these neighborhoods being Akusho, a crime-ridden slum located on the southeastern outskirts of town. The city's water come from multiple aqueducts. Overall, the architecture of the city has an appearance similar to that of ancient Rome, including common use of large marble structures, including columns, domes, and statues. Sadera is stated in the manga to have a population of about one million people, presumably the largest city in the Empire. Normally, Humanoids are not welcomed into the Capital; however, after the Siege of the Jade Palace where the Humanoids of Akusho had contributed in rescuing the pro-peace faction, this social norm had deteriorated where Humanoids were allow to go to the Capital to witness Piña Co Lada's coronation as the Crown Princess. Locations: Main Imperial Palace The Imperial Palace is located at the top of Sadera Hill with at least one wide boulevard leading into it. In front of the palace is one of multiple large squares or forums seen in landscape views of the city. Imperial Senate The Imperial Senate is located in a prominent location in Sadera near a large forum, and is a large marble structure with a large dome. The building was the central meeting place for the Imperial Senators to enact legislation until it was bombed by JSDF aircraft as a warning to release the Japanese slaves in the Empire. Despite its destruction, the demolished building is still being used for meetings. Forum Multiple squares or forums exist in the city, similar to real-world ancient Roman cities. These are central public places where residents can gather and merchants can conduct business. These forums are often located near major public buildings, including the Imperial Palace, the Senate, as well as temples to the gods. Azure Palace Main Temple A temple is described as located along the main road leading to the Imperial Palace. This is presumably the main temple dedicated to the Special Region's gods. Given the number of residents in Sadera, it is likely there are numerous smaller temples in the city. South Palace Located at the foot of Sadera Hill, along the main road running to the Imperial Palace from the south is the South Palace, home of Zorzal El Caesar. In addition to being Zorzal's luxurious residence, the palace also holds a darker side. Several of Zorzal's sex slaves are kept imprisoned in a room in the palace. Akusho Akusho is an area located near the outskirts of Sadera, the furthest neighborhood from Sadera Hill. The region is a poor, violent slum controlled by gangs of criminals. In order to maintain a low profile, the JSDF also placed a small outpost here. The gangs did not take likely to the intrusion, and one of them, the Bessara family, attempted to rout the JSDF from their territory; however, they were quickly wiped out due to their primitive technology. Following the dissolution of the Bessara gang, both the civilians and remaining crime families decided to cooperate with the JSDF. Jade Palace A palace named for its green walls, the Jade Palace was appropriated by the Japanese for use as an embassy. According to the terms of the treaty, it is, as is the norm for embassies on Earth, technically considered part of Japan. Schwarz Forest Schwarz Forest is a forest trenched deep within a valley. It was home to a secluded community of dark elves. However their village was burnt down by the Flame Dragon, killing over 200 dark elves. Those who had survived took refuge deep inside a cave in the nearby Roldom Canyon. Yao Haa Dushi originally came from the Schwarz Forest. As a renown and skilled warrior, the Elvish tribal elders sent Yao to find the "Men In Green" to aid in hunting down the Flame Dragon. Two months had passed since Yao departed from her forest homeland. Upon her return, she brought Itami, Tuka Luna Marceau, Lelei La Lalena, and Rory Mercury. At first, Itami's group was confronted with a number of hostile dark elf warriors until the untimely arrival of the Flame Dragon forced everyone present to cooperate in order to survive. After a brief skirmish with the Flame Dragon, they were able to retreat deep into the forest and reach safety within the caves. There, the tribal elders and the surviving dark elves welcomed Itami as their savior. The next day, Itami's group and several dark elf volunteers would then leave Schwarz Forest and head towards Tube Mountain where the dragon's nest was reportedly located to set up an ambush using JSDF weapons Itami "borrowed" from the headquarter base in Alnus. Senkaku Island The Senkaku Islands (尖閣諸島 Senkaku-shotō, variants: 尖閣群島 Senkaku-guntō[6] and 尖閣列島 Senkaku-rettō[7]) are a group of uninhabited islands controlled by Japan in the East China Sea. They are located roughly due east of Mainland China, northeast of Taiwan, west of Okinawa Island, and north of the southwestern end of the Ryukyu Islands. They are also known as the Diaoyu Islands (Chinese: 钓鱼岛及其附属岛屿; pinyin: Diàoyúdǎo jí qí fùshǔ dǎoyǔ; also simply 钓鱼岛) in Mainland China, the Diaoyutai Islands (Chinese: 釣魚台列嶼; pinyin: Diàoyútái liè yǔ) in Taiwan, and the Pinnacle Islands.[8][9][10][11][12] Following the discovery of potential undersea oil reserves in 1968 in the area and the 1971 transfer of administrative control of the islands from the United States to Japan, the latter's sovereignty over the territory is disputed by both the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Republic of China (also known as Taiwan). During the international sabotage of the Gate, the Chinese government sends warships near the island to create pressure for Japan to give in to their demand. Seth Lake The Seth Lake is a Lake in the northern Empire. Telta Telta is the most northern town and second biggest city of the Empire, located in the river RHO. After the JSDF rescue Pina, Zorzal and his cohorts escape and flee from the JSDF in fear of sniper fire had settled in Telta and made it their main base to continue their foolish war. Tuba Mountains The Tuba Mountains are a north-south trending mountain range located in the Kingdom of Elbe. The mountains separate the Roma River valley with a second, unspecified river to the west, and run south to the borders of the League Principality. The Roldom Canyon and the Schwarz Forest an is located in the northwestern flanks of the Tuba Mountains. The highest peak in the range is a volcano, Mount Tube, which was the site of an final engagement between the Japan Self-Defense Forces and the Flame Dragon, which ended in the death of the dragon and two of its offspring. Tubet Tubet is an Elbe castle located in the Tuba Mountains, Special Region, near the border between the Empire and Elbe. The castle appears to to be built at the opening of a major mountain pass, with a large gate and numerous towers defending the location. The structure of the castle itself is similar to a western European castle, with tall stone walls and towers topped with crenelated battlements intended to be manned by archers and other defenders during times of siege. The main gate, as well as the two sub-keeps, would pose a formidable threat to any besieging army in the Special Region, though, like all fortifications constructed by Special Region natives, these would obviously be completely useless against an attacker with the technology level of the JSDF. The fortress of Tubet consists of a large wall covering the entirety of a narrow gap between two vertical cliffs, centered around the main gate, which appears to be a sturdy wooden structure, presumably reinforced against ramming. Within the wall are six towers for stationing archers and other defenders. The wall reaches the top of the cliffs, and a walkway continues from the wall along the top of the cliffs up to the two keeps. Rather than a single central keep typical of European, and presumably Special Region castles, Tubet consists of at least two, possibly three separate keeps, each of which could be considered a separate castle in its own right. The main keep is to visible to the largest of the three, and located to the right of the gate in the image above. The main keep consists of a the central round keep itself, as well as two concentric walls with several towers surrounding it. The sub keep to the left of the gate consists of a smaller round central keep ringed by a single wall, with towers on each corner. In the distance, a third structure is visible on a mountain top, possibly a second "sub-keep". The the main and "sub-keep" on the other side of the pass are presumably placed so that, even if a besieging army were to breach the main gate, they would find themselves under fire from archers on both sides. Beyond the heavily fortified pass, there appears to be a city located between the ridge on which the fortress is built and a second, higher ridge. It is a federal republic of 50 states and the federal capital district of Washington, D.C. The 48 contiguous states border Canada to the north and Mexico to the south, with the state of Alaska forming a semi-exclave in the northwest and the state of Hawaii spanning an archipelago in Oceania. It has the world's third-largest land area and third-largest population, exceeding 340 million. Along with the China and Russia, USA is one of the three superpowers on Earth. The United States of America (U.S. AKA USA) is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking. The United States is one of the huge military allies for NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) and The UN (United Nations). Appearance The USA is currently a global hegemonic superpower (more accruately a Hyperpower) nation on 21st century Earth led by President of the United States Dirrel. The United States is also 1 of 3 global superpowers wanting to have the Gate as well as the access to the Special Region along with rival nations Russia and China after the Ginza incident. Political System Regular Congressional System Through legislative debate and compromise, the U.S. Congress makes laws that influence the country. It holds hearings to inform the legislative process, conducts investigations to oversee the executive branch, and serves as the voice of the people and the states in the federal government. Notable Citizens Dirrel – The President of the United States. An opportunist, he seeks to lay claim to and strip the Special Region of its natural resources, comparing it with the frontier of old. He becomes a member of an international coalition to deprive Japan of its monopoly to the Gate, but after the Chinese betray them, he restores his good standing with the Japanese by sending commandos to snatch Lelei from their clutches. Village of Koan Koan Village was a small village of elves, located in the forest of the same name. The Warrior Bunnies' Homeworld is the original birthplace of the Warrior Bunnies; very little is known about their homeworld. According to Mimoza, like many other races the Warrior Bunnies came from their homeworld through the Alnus Gate, and apparently settled in the 'Grasslands of the Head Hunting Rabbits' on the continent of Falmart. After centuries of living in the Special Region, the Warrior Bunnies seem to forget about where they originally came from as Tyuule, Delilah or Mamina never seems to recall anything about their homeworld. It is unknown whether the Warrior Bunnies's Homeworld is more developed than in the Special Region or not, like in the case of the Earth.
