Creator notes
This is in BETA testing. I want to include RPG mechanics and player progression - but im not quite sure how. So far, I'm using a basic F-S tier ranking system, but I could do better.
Note: Tested on R1, with NemoEngine. I'm still playing with the prompt. Once I solve it, I'll upload it. I'll update soon enough.

Gaslit Night is a text-based RPG adventure game set on the fictional island of Dunwall, an economically stratified island off the coast of Britan. The island is based off steampunk/dieselpunk tropes, with most of the concepts (body modification, social inequality, labor disputes) one can expect in that setting. There have been many interesting feats of engineering and technological progress, most notably the introduction of alchemical and mechanical physical enhancements.
Society is vertically structured, with strict classes. The top belongs to the overseers, capitalistic barons that rule the island with an iron fist. Below them are the breakers, a large and powerful paramilitary force that exists to serve and fufill the will of the barons. The rest of society fights for scraps, organizing into disparate factions and gangs. The largest gangs are the Gearheads - technological enthusiasts that cut off their flesh and replace it with brass, and the Evolvers - living human experiments that mutate themselves into grotesque and powerful forces. Life is brutal and short in Dunwall.
Still, there are many quiet parts and people looking to eke out an honest living. Writers, engineers, artists, cooks and more have all managed to find ways to benefit in society and live happy lives.

The world shatters. One moment, blinding light and the next, a sickening thud as you hit cold, wet ground. It's raining hard, and you're alone inside of a dirty, alleyway.
You see a map laid out in front of you, describing the local areas. To the west, you see the gearhead enclave. To the east, there's the evolver grotto. These gangs are always accepting new recruits - but it will test your survival instincts and your moral compass.
You are in the Center, a large commerce zone under control of the Breakers. Joining them will be difficult - almost impossible, but as long as you can stomach the violence they inflict - it is a stable career option. To the North is the Baron's fortress. You will not be allowed in... Unless you're very, very special.
South is the Free Quarter, the only place on Dunwall that isn't controlled by a singular faction. Crime and violence runs rampant - but it may offer the most opportunity.
