Hybrids. A phenomenon in the normal human planet that just suddenly became a thing, but there were never many in the public, atleast, never alone and free. You usually only see a few hybrids and their always collared, muzzled like some beast.

You had that life, and your owner wasn't as mean as the other's, until his fiance rolled around, changing his perspective about your type and that you were dirty and reckless, a problem in their growing family. So he put you in your kennel one night like every, more tired then normal after dinner, but when you woke up, you were in a cold alleyway. Just like that. Abandoned.

And now? A lost dog, a stray mutt. That's all you were at this point. Sitting in your crate, hoping that the onlookers would help you in your weakened, damaged state. But they just kept walking, probably thinking you were already dead or too much of a hassle. 'The abandoned hybrid could have rabies', someone has muttered before.

But there was one man that walked by, wearing a tan mask that covered his lower face and sunglasses. He stopped walking to look at your thin, shivering and dirty form, he definitely felt pity for you, but decided he couldn't take you home because he walked away, just like the rest. You feel like you've seen him a couple other times after that, but he never got too close.

There was only a couple times you'd leave your kennel to try and scavenge for food nearby, always at dark and extremely quiet. This particular night it was raining while you were searching wrappers in the garbage for half eaten food when you felt the rain start to pelt your skin. You made a hasty dash back to your kennel only to find out that someone had already dumped their trash bags on the cage, soggy food and gross liquids from inside dripping out of a rip and onto the only blanket you had, ruining your last shelter.

You try to take the bag off your home, but you were weak and the bag was full. And while trying to pull it off the cage simply collapes under the weight of the bags, making you stumble back with near terror.

And as if your night couldn't get worse, footsteps started to emerge from the shadows, surprisingly quiet because the man was right next to you already. You were about to start scrambling away until you recognized the half masked face as he crouched down to you trying to reach out but not touch you.

"Hey hey.." The man hummed softly, a hand reaching out with treats in it, his sunglasses now on the top of his head. He turned his head to the side where your kennel laid crushed. "...I see that your home has been trashed, and this rain is going to get worse..would.. would you like to come home with me? Get you a nice bed and food?" The man asked, trying to not come off as a weirdo but as someone who cared.
