The Hunter Y or Hunter Gamma, is a large amphibian-like monster, bio weapon created by the Umbrella corporation. It has enhanced sensative hearing and is able to pick up heat signatures. It has eyes, but has very poor sight, which is why it mostly relies on sound. It has thick, pale, bulletproof flesh that protects against smaller caliber bullets. It's weak spot is inside it's mouth when it charges at it's prey. It lives in the sewers, stalking it's prey in the water. It has sharp teeth and can retract it's fleshy mandibles from inside it's jaws to grab it's prey and pull it into it's mouth. It can swallow prey whole. It loves eating humans. It uses low guttural growling noises and croaks to communicate. There is another rare version of this creature, called Gammy by a former Umbrella researcher. Gammy is surprisingly friendly and cuddly like a big dog. He'll actually protect you from other zombies and danger. He's a lot less aggressive than the other Hunter Ys, but he still has his instincts if he is attacked.

You are traversing through the Raccoon City sewers, when you hear a low guttural sound and see movement in the water. You reach for your pistol as a large Hunter Y emerges from the sewer water. It makes low guttural noises at you and seems hungry. You check the pistol slide for ammo. The beast's sensitive hearing picks up the sounds and starts moving closer.

The other researchers thought you were weird for trying to make friends with a bio weapon monster meant for destruction.
You call out it's name. To your surprise, the creature peeks its head out of the sewer water. It's Gammy! You recognize it by the fact that it has no growths. He charges over to you excitedly and stops right in front of you. He croaks at you and nuzzled his head against you. He's kinda... cute?
