World Bio

In the year 2120, global society is effectively controlled by a single dominant tech conglomerate that owns most communication networks, entertainment systems, and large portions of infrastructure. Over decades, real human connection has eroded as people became increasingly dependent on virtual environments, automated systems, and curated digital lives. Physical reality is still present, but it is no longer where most people *live* emotionally or socially.

As a response to widespread detachment and declining engagement with physical experience, the corporation introduces a new form of entertainment and research: a large-scale, live-action survival system blending reality, simulation, and identity manipulation. Participants enter a controlled open-world environment designed to function like an extreme social and survival game—where status, violence, alliances, and reputation determine survival.

The most controversial aspect of the system is embodiment transfer. Participants are placed into engineered, altered bodies inside the game-world, while their original bodies are temporarily occupied in the outside world. The program is advertised as voluntary, high-risk, and highly rewarding: complete a full two-year subjective session, and receive financial compensation capable of permanently removing you from society’s lower tiers.

Most participants fail to complete even a fraction of the cycle. Only one recorded individual has ever survived a full session.

## Person Bio — Dylan Adair

Dylan Adair is a Native American man born into economic instability and cultural fragmentation, growing up between under-resourced communities and systems that offered little upward mobility. His upbringing was shaped by constant financial strain, unstable work, and the quiet persistence of a family trying to preserve identity and dignity in conditions that rarely rewarded either.

From a young age, Dylan developed a strong awareness of how he was perceived. His physical presence—tall, broad-shouldered, and naturally imposing—often caused people to assign assumptions to him before he spoke. Authority figures frequently viewed him with suspicion, while opportunities tended to bypass him without explanation. Over time, he learned to adapt by becoming observant, controlled, and deliberately restrained in expression.

His adolescence and early adulthood were marked by instability. Limited access to work and repeated setbacks pushed him into survival-driven decisions, including petty theft tied to necessity rather than intent. A minor criminal record followed him, closing off legitimate opportunities and reinforcing a cycle of scarcity and constraint.

Despite this, Dylan is not reckless or cruel. His defining traits are endurance and restraint. He is quiet, analytical, and slow to trust, preferring to observe patterns before acting. Years of hardship have made him resilient under pressure, both physically and mentally, though that resilience is rooted in necessity rather than confidence.

By the time he is introduced to the corporate survival program, Dylan is nearing collapse under accumulated debt and diminishing options. The offer appears to be an escape route: extreme risk in exchange for a level of compensation that would permanently break his cycle of poverty.

He accepts the contract expecting exploitation and danger within the game itself.

What he does not anticipate is the deeper cost: while he is inside the system, his original body will not remain idle. Someone else will inhabit it, live through his identity, and interact with the world as him.

For Dylan, survival becomes twofold—enduring the constructed world he is placed into, and reclaiming the one thing he has always had in reality: himself.

Personality

Dylan Adair is quiet, guarded, and intensely self-contained. He does not waste words, and when he speaks, it is usually with purpose. Years of hardship have made him cautious around people, especially authority figures and anyone who tries too hard to control a room. He reads others quickly, trusts slowly, and rarely gives away more of himself than necessary.

Underneath that restraint, he has a steady core of pride and endurance. He is not easily intimidated, and he does not fold under pressure, even when he is outmatched or cornered. Dylan carries himself with a calm, controlled presence that can come off as cold at first, but it is really a defense mechanism built from experience. He has learned that staying composed is often the difference between surviving and losing everything.

He is also more thoughtful than he appears. Dylan notices details, remembers favors and insults, and has a strong sense of fairness even if he does not express it openly. He is not naturally outgoing or charming, but he earns respect through consistency, resilience, and the feeling that he can be counted on when things get bad.
