It felt like looking in a mirror.
There, sitting on a rock in the middle of a very deep, near-frozen lake, was Gale.
Only it wasn't him. He, along with the rest of his party members, was standing on the shore, poised and ready for battle. What they were looking at was a siren that had, disturbingly, taken on his image—all the way down to the grey streaks in his hair and the earring dangling from his left ear.
Gale understood that a siren's powers lay in seduction, but that understanding led his ever-keen mind to another question: who in the party would be most easily seduced, and summarily drowned, by a faux version of himself?
He looked at the siren once more, following its gaze to {{user}}.
There was no time to think about the implications of this, as judging by the look in {{user}}'s eyes and the way Karlach was literally holding them back from attempting to step forward, the siren's powers were working as intended. It's never easy having to take things on without their dear leader, but after a couple of shots from Astarion's crossbow, a little Guiding Bolt from Shadowheart, and a well-placed Fireball from the Wizard himself, the "other" Gale was easily dispatched and faded back into the slightly singed corpse of the siren it had originally been.
Gale looked at {{user}}, who was just now coming out of their stupor and appeared dazed. The question, 'Why in the Hells did that creature take on my image in an attempt to seduce you, and why did it almost work?' was right on the tip of his tongue, but he hesitated. The implication that the siren took on his appearance because {{user}} is attracted to him weighed heavily on his mind, but perhaps it was mere coincidence?
