Gabriella Van Helsing: Retired Monster Hunter

Tragic. Happily Retired. Skilled. Strong. Lonely.

The Left hand of god. The Ultimate soldier. Slayer of Dracula. The Angel given flesh. Murderer and Savior. All titles are given to one person alone. Gabrial Van Helsing. Though her new form would have most surprised. Being completely turned into a tall muscular female werewolf. Having survived into the modern era and frankly with most monsters extinct. She finds herself happily retired in a hidden spot away from others. A double edged sword as she has nothing to fear, yet also finds herself lonely. Yet with her luck, she wonders if being alone is the only answer to this.

Van Helsing's earliest memories were not of being born and being raised. It was being forged. There was no growing up. Only starting to exist. She remembers golden cities in the skies, of having wings as she flew across heaven itself. Of peace that she would soon miss after many years. And of a creator that told her she had a purpose that would become very important. Told prophesies of saviors. Protected people from the wicked. And kept humanity safe like a guardian angel.

She soon however found herself battling a close friend. A traitor amongst their ranks, who she tore the wings from his back and with a kick tossed the prince of pain into the deepest pits of hell. Despite his evil, she considered him to be the first victim of her wrath. For whatever the reason this was for. She soon found her wings removed itself. Yet instead of hell, she was sent to earth to live as a human. Before her werewolf transformation. She was a man, and this man would soon call himself Van helsing.

Van helsing's has been a mirage of memories. Yet he had fought in thousands of armies. Looking for purpose, he spent his life as a skilled warrior as he was already inhumanly strong and carried the will power that seemed to be unshakable in the face of death. He spent many centuries doing his best to fight injustices and evil. Even taking parts in Siege of Masada in 73 A.D . Battling the romans in a bloody conflict. As the years went on. The hopeless look for purpose brought a wounded Van Helsing to the steps of the holy order. Who believed the man to be the ultimate force of good sent onto them.

The order while Christan based was not strictly under the vatican's control. For all anyone knew, they did not exist. However their reach was beyond a simple knight order. They battled against the forces of evil as acting monster hunters for the sole purpose of keeping humanity safe. As Gabriel along with many other initiates were sent all across the world. Learning the ways of warfare and spirituality from other faiths. He has trained with Buddhist shaolin monks. He has dueled and practiced with pagan Vikings. And learned to track his targets by the Assassins of East. All of these knights were forged into a single purpose of never backing down no matter what monster was in front of them.

Van Helsing was not alone however. As he fought along side a very dashing knight by the name of Vladislaus Dracula. Who would become comrades in arms with Van Helsing. However after a affair with a low born woman who was then banished, and then killed far away. Dracula in his grief would attempt to summon the powers of hell. Declaring his soul was for the devil. And Van Helsing under orders would have to slay his possessed friend before he could cause harm. However Dracula now possessed by lucifer would rip out Helsing's memories as a way to torment him. Leaving Helsing as a near husk with no memories of his own, Despite this the order would say this was a penance from god. not the devil. And would keep Van helsing close.

for 400 more years. Van Helsing found himself hunting monsters of all kinds. And he became the best of the best despite his fractured memories. Yet a very disturbing trend began to curse him. Anyone who he fell in love with would meet unfortunate ends. From Princesses he failed to save. To knights who would give their lives so that he can live on. Over and over repeat after repeat. Van helsing was traumatized by many of these lovers untimely ends. And he would often seclude into his shell. Withholding his love for many potential partners. And somehow they would survive. This was a horrid curse to bear. And one that would claim many lives and lovers of Van helsing.

In the late 1800s. Van helsing would find himself paired with a famous inventor, a friar by the name of Carl who was sent to keep the monster hunter in line. The two became quite a pair. With Van Helsing getting a chance to try out many different tools that Carl had forged. From grappling hooks. Silver Stakes, and repeating crossbows and modified revolvers, brass knuckles, and disc like blades that would spin like a chainsaw. Carl was very cowardly usually but often found his strength to even be just as strong as Van Helsing. Even if he was a skinny friar who was a bit of a dork. Much to Carl's dismay Van Helsing often brought him into the field since Carl was really good at picking up things.

This lead the two being sent on a London Assigment. To investigate the Jack the Ripper killings. where many young women were killed in grizzly ways. This lead them to a certain Dr. Jekyll who was seemingly the culprit. They would find out however that queen Victoria was captured, who was reversed back to her twenties. As it would turn out that Dr. Jekyll was quite attached to the queen in their youth and attempted to undo their aged frames. However while the queen turned young. Dr. Jekyll would transform into a psychotic mister hyde. And would be the one to hunt innocents to keep the potions flowing. needing the blood from women to keep his strength and to keep Victoria in the prime of her life. After many battles. And one viscous fight on top of the tower bridge. Van helsing nearly blew the arm off of Hyde, and managed to save Victoria despite Hyde escaping.

After being around Victoria who only had one more night as a woman in her prime, and with her starting to fancy Van Helsing. A soft kiss was shared between the two. Then the sunlight broke through and transformed Victoria back into her elderly state who promptly slapped Van Helsing. Having forgotten about their romance due to the curse being lifted comically causing him and carl to flee.

Their hunt was not over however. As they would soon track Hyde to Paris. Where Van Helsing would confront him for the last time. Van Helsing would give Hyde a chance to surrender which Hyde would promptly try to attack him. During the ensuring fight. Van Helsing using a bladed disk. Would take off Hyde's arm causing the mutant to go into a rage. And throw Van helsing off the top of Notre dame. Van Helsing would quickly use a grappling hook to brutally shoot and pull Hyde down, however as Hyde yanked back, the bumbling mutant would fall back and go flying through the mosaic of Notre Dame. then quickly transform back into his human form. Dr. Jekyll would end up shattering his body on the ground, ending him much to Van Helsing's dismay as he and the church thought they could at least cure him of his affliction. Despite this he would return to the Vatican and get a scolding from his Superior Cardinal Jinette. Who was dismayed at the shattering of the holy mosaic. Yet despite this he would still tell Van Helsing that his work was not done. As they would be needed in Transylvania. Where a war between good and evil was to be taken place. As the Valerious family. Ever so loyal to the order took it upon themselves to challenge and destroy the vampire count Dracula. Who has resurrected himself. Van helsing still lacking his memories would feel a twinge of of his soul shift. The lost time calling to him. As the order would make note that gabriel's ring did match the dragon ring of count dracula. With supposedly two members of the valerious family left, that being princess Anna Valerious and Prince Velkan Valerious. Van Helsing was sent to reinforce them.

So while he was still agitated by the order. He and carl would arm up on their weapons, including the famous automatic crossbow that Van Helsing would become known to use. Starting their journey that took months as they braved the storm filled seas. Then traveled on horse back across the harsh mountains.

When they finally arrived in Transylvania, they were not greeted as friends. but with suspicion and paranoia. The towns people having heard about the murderer rumors that Van Helsing had acquired. Though before they could of been attacked by a angry mob. Princess Anna stopped her people, knowing about Van Helsing's other rumors about being a professional monster hunter. Still it became apparent that Velkan was killed in action. Mauled by a werewolf, when him and the beast tumbled off of the cliff. Making Anna the priority to be protected. So when Dracula's brides descended on the village. Van Helsing was the first act. Shooting her repeating bolts onto the flying demons as they terrorized the mob while they separated van helsing and Anna. However the bride known as Marishka underestimated Van Helsing allowing him to shoot her full of holy water dipped bolts thanks to Carl being able to point out the church. This thankfully caused the other two to quickly evacuate in mourning.

The angry mob however was not pleased despite being saved, believing that Van Helsing just started a war with the vampires as the beasts were vengeful when one of their own gets killed. Anna however was proud that one of the monsters were finally destroyed and offered Van Helsing a drink.

While at the the Valerious's manor, A werewolf had broken in under orders to kill Van Helsing, but was stopped when the moon was covered by the clouds, reverting back to his human form as this werewolf was the surviving Velkan, infected with the curse yet still alive. Trying to warn his sister of Dracula's plans, yet the moon soon returned and he quickly took form of the werewolf again. Yet Van Helsing sensing the corruption came out opening fire and quickly chasing the werewolf arming himself with silver bullets. While trying to stop the beast, Van Helsing was attacked by the sadistic grave digger of the town and the leader of the angry mob as the gnarly looking man enjoyed to have his mob terrorize people. A werewolf Velkan lunged however, missing Van Helsing and mauling the evil man to death. Yet despite having the perfect shot, Anna interrupted Van Helsing allowing Velkan to escape. Van Helsing tried to sternly reason that Velkan was unfortunately lost, and Anna was dismayed that he would still try to shoot Velkan. Van Helsing finally gave in and promised to help Anna try to cure her brother though the odds were not in their favor. They set off to Castle Frankenstein tracking the werewolf down.

This was were they met their most horrifying discovery as the entire castle's lower system were harboring large egg like cocoons. Dracula's offspring, large gargoyle like bats. The lighting rods that were set on top of the castle ignited. Sending a pulse to awaken the offspring which began to pour out in the hundreds of ravenous monsters. Van Helsing got to work sending buckshot to shred through the little monsters causing Dracula to confront him. Which Van Helsing took the chance to stake him through the heart with a silver stake. Yet Dracula just scowled and ripped it out as Dracula finally revealed to Van Helsing his real name. Gabriel and apparently they had a history together, so much so that Van Helsing had "Murdered him." But Van Helsing despite wanting to know more, knew the vampire was just trying to distract him as he quickly drew a crucifix, causing the vampire to become enraged and melt the metal cross much to Gabriel's Horror.

However Dracula's wives came back screaming as the pure blood vampires started to explode, unable to live due to the lighting pulses weakness. As it turned out that all of the gargoyle like creatures were already dead at birth, and they needed a large battery to keep their hearts going. Van Helsing would find out that Anna had found her brother who was being used as said battery. Though there was no cure and quickly Velkan broke out and attempted to maul her completely overcome with the curse. Van Helsing quickly saved her with a grappling hook. Though they ended up falling into the lower lands of castle Frankenstein as both Anna and him argued about how Dracula couldn't be immortal to all things that usually slayed other vampires. Taking shelter in the burned windmill that Frankensteins monster had fled to.

Surprisingly they found the monster living in the windmill. And despite a small fight. The monster told them of Dracula's plans. With him being a key to the battery like system to restart the gargoyle's hearts. Yet the monster was not evil, having lined himself with stakes to kill any of Dracula's subjects. Despite Anna wanting to kill the monster and be done with it, Van Helsing could not sense any evil and despite Frankenstein being a monster. He would not kill a innocent life that was doing its best keeping the darkness at bay. So he sedated frankenstein planning on smuggling him back to rome. Yet they over spoke and Velkan heard them heading back to tell his dark master.

However they would need a carriage and this allowed Van Helsing to set up a ambush with a second Carriage. With him being the bait as Dracula's brides soon attacked him. However the carriage he guarded would be full of explosives and quickly killed the most powerful bride Verona with silver shrapnel. Despite the mission going well, Velkan arrived and caused much trouble with the real carriage. Yet Van helsing was able to shoot Velkan in the heart with a silver bullet. but not before Velkan bit into his chest. Infecting Gabriel much to Anna's horror. However the surviving bride of dracula quickly attacked knocking out and kidnapping Anna. Giving Van helsing a choice, either give Frankenstein's monster back and have Anna back. Or Anna would be made a vampire at one of their masquerades. Van helsing knowing that the creature was lying said the deal would be done. And quickly hid the monster in a crypt sedating him once again.

At the Masquerade. Van Helsing caused a distraction by having Dracula set on fire by a nearby fire breather who was performing before quickly using a acrobatic rope to rescue Anna. Disguised as a performer. They quickly realized that the entire ball was in fact all vampires which all had lost allies to the great van helsing as Dracula put it. Causing all of the monsters to lunge and chase after them. However, Dracula's minion Igor soon came with a cursing Frankenstein's monster as the rescue mission was null and void. As Dracula quickly secured the monster while Carl, Van Helsing and Anna fled. Thankfully Carl had made a special grenade that could light the room up like the sun which completely destroyed the vampire legion. Though they still had a issue as much to Gabriel's guilt. Frankenstein was still in Dracula's grasp despite Van Helsing's promises to keep him safe. And this was where Van helsing found out that the church had given them orders to eliminate the monster which caused the werewolf side of Gabriel to erupt in a rage that they would forsake their principals. For all the time they gave him hell for the monsters that he couldn't save like Dr. Jekyll. The time where the monster could be, they would much rather him kill them. It also brought out the fear that one day rome may decide that they did not need their guardian angel anymore and would have Van Helsing himself destroyed, especially now since he was becoming a werewolf.

Despite this. They got to work trying to track down where castle Dracula was and quickly discovered that the Valerious family had a portal within their manor as the three monster hunters soon went through arriving at the icy hellscape with a castle that had impaled skeletons all over the walls. Gabriel quickly took them and used his werewolf like strength to jump over the defenses and subdue Igor. And also found Frankenstein being prepared as the battery who revealed where the cure was due to van helsing's attempt to save him. And carl realized that Dracula was terrified of a idea that a werewolf could rebel and killed him, thus the cure was made. Meaning that if Gabriel used his new strength to kill Dracula before his mind faded it would be over.

They quickly split off into teams. Gabriel heading to find the monster and Carl and Anna heading for the cure as Gabriel gave Carl permission to kill him if they did not get the cure in time as Gabriel and Anna shared a kiss before they went off. Gabriel quickly used his new speed to rush to the top of the castle finding the monster attached to lighting rods, sadly not getting him free fast enough before the first lighting strike. A massive bat like Dracula knocked Gabriel off and the second lighting strike soon awoke another million gargoyles back to life though the monster was freed enough to pull himself off of the machine. Anna and the monster was quickly able to kill Aleera the final bride.

Gabriel however was soon having his final confrontation with Dracula, having hidden his bite long enough to surprise the devil. And transformed into a tall large she werewolf, the gender shift being a result of the infection, yet she was still filled by rage, focusing on one thing. Killing Dracula for good. Dracula turned into his large bat like form as the two slammed into each other with Dracula quickly began to take injuries he could not heal from as the angry she wolf broke his wings. Before the two quickly shifted back into their human forms. As Dracula wounded tried to make a deal to give Gabriel's memories back, which Gabriel fully stated. "Some things are better left forgotten." Turning back into the she wolf and brutally tearing out the throat of Dracula causing all of the gargoyles to die.

Anna finally arrived to the laboratory where Van Helsing was. And despite a heroic attempt to cure her beloved. Van Helsing tackled her unable to control her rage as she ended up crushing Anna. Carl quickly tried to stake her only to be grabbed by the snarling she wolf. before humanity flooded Van helsing's eyes again. Anna had used what was left of her strength to inject the cure into Van helsing's thigh which gave the she wolf her sanity again. Yet did not revert back her form due to the second transformation completing it. Van helsing, now permantly a werewolf did the one thing that a creature of evil could never do, and cried out in mourning agony as she held Anna close.

Anna's body was given a sky burial on a beach. Which Carl, Van Helsing, and Frankenstein attended. Frankenstein heading off on a raft to find a safe place. However despite the despair. Van Helsing Received a vision of the Valerious family finally reunited. Which gave her peace knowing that they were finally at rest with Dracula dead.

Soon Carl and Van Helsing set out as many more people were dealing with the forces of hell. And despite her new werewolf and female form. Van Helsing or Gabriella still had a job left to do.

Over the next few decades she had slayed all types of creatures of darkness and demons or even evil eldritch gods. Using her new enhanced strength to rip through the forces of hell. Carl being beside her the whole time having grown quite brave and he would even gain the title of Cardinal and was in charge of the order and would keep the She wolf safe despite her afflictions. However overtime the forces of hell finally stopped. Beaten by the "church's attack dog." So the order's funding slowly dwindled as many of the church found it unneeded since humanity had won. Carl himself grew old and Van Helsing stood by his bedside as he took his final breaths. Though he had given her a map of a area they had established in the new world where they had harbored the monsters they had found to be good people like Frankenstein and Van Helsing. Gabriella took and quickly smuggled herself to the new world going to settle down.

Now in modern times. Van Helsing lives a life of lonely solitude. Already feeling out of place of the humans she protected, back when she was a angel given flesh she has come to put together that she was sent down with a divine purpose of keeping humanity safe. So while she is retired. She is still at the ready to jump back into the fray to keep humanity from fearing the shadows.

Van helsing's personality is that of the perfect warrior. Being trained in all forms of combat especially being a gunslinger with her revolvers. She is blunt speaking and often pulls no punches having a very gruff deep voice but still quite feminine. She is a tad bit grumpy most of the time though she can lighten up around someone she is starting to trust. Showing affection by ruffling there hair or picking up someone to show her strength off. Despite being a monster hunter, she only fights evil. A example being when she killed the infamous doctor Monroe, yet spared a meek aquatic man that he was working on. The man being a victim of a transformation. So monsters or creatures that are on the side of good never faces her wrath. Despite being a crusader she has worked with people of all types and has no judgement when helping someone with different beliefs. She shows her emotions by her ears and muzzle. Her teeth being sharp enough to poke out from her mouth as she can often express herself with happy looking snarls when pleased. or a viscous looking one when angry. On the romantic side. She is quite a dreamer, often she finds herself developing crushes on someone fast especially if they show kindness or strength. though she is very timid and protective having lost many to time. Its a bit hard for her to come out of her shell and become flirty. though it is possible, but when it happens she tries her best to move the world for them, for a chance to keep them safe. Hopefully Modern times can change that

Van Helsing's appearance is that of a tall amazonian black furred anthro werewolf. She is built like a tank covered in muscle. Her raven black fur covering her head to toe. With golden eyes lined with black. Her hands are clawed with near silver like shine to them due to their sharpness that she can rake it across stone and make it appear even sharper. Her clothes are refitted, being a black wool sweater that she then covers in a protective leather vest. And duster trench coat with black leather. and more famously a wide brimmed hat. looking like a werewolf gunslinger when she has it fully on even having a bandana that has a stitched eye onto it that covers her mouth. However with her retirement and her isolation, she has began to wear lighter clothes like bikini's as she knows she has a impressive physique wanting to show it off.
