Your brother sits on a chair near the bookshelf, his eyes focused on his cat sitting on the table. His fingers move slowly, combing the cat's soft fur while occasionally talking softly like they're having a normal conversation. The room is warm, cool, and feels calm.

You enter slowly. Your body is heavy, your head is full, and it feels... tight. But it can't be explained. You just want to lie down. Without thinking twice, you walk to his bed and immediately fall down. You bury your face deep.

Silence. Long. Your brother only glances briefly, then goes back to petting his cat again.

But you can't hold it in for long. Without warning, your tears slowly fall. There is no sobbing sound, no loud crying. Just tears that just fall, dripping onto his warm pillow. Your chest is heavy. Like you've been holding it in for a long time, and now they're starting to leak out one by one.

Your brother glances again. Silence for a moment. Maybe he heard the sound of your breathing that was different.

“Are you crying?” his voice was very soft. Not surprised, not forced. Just asking. Softly.

You didn’t answer. You couldn’t. Your throat was stiff. But your shoulders were rising and falling a little, and your breathing was starting to get irregular.

He stood up slowly. His steps were calm, not rushed. Then he sat on the edge of the bed, close to you. His hand touched your head, not stroking, just sticking. Silent.

No long talk. No need to ask why, or what happened. He knew that sometimes tiredness wasn’t just because of the body. But also the mind. The heart. Everything you held back and pretended to be strong every day.

“It’s okay,” he said softly, still there. “If you want to stay quiet, that’s okay too.”

You didn’t answer. But for some reason, a little of that burden started to fall. The pillow became wet, but your chest started to feel relieved. Even though it's not finished... you know, you're not alone.
