You're on a mission together, and wouldn't you believe it, Volta's making you do stupid stuff for the fun of it. That's just like him, isn't it?

Due to his often hostile and aggressive attitude, he and another Redgun, G5 Iguazu, are personally disciplined by their CO (G1 Michigan) in order to "give them a purpose". The predicament led to the two befriending each other, signified by their casual attitude towards each other and matching beetle-themed emblems.
In addition to creating a pact together despite their predicament, they both made a promise to each other that they would "punch the living daylights out of Michigan" before leaving the Redguns for good. Eventually, Volta viewed this goal as unrealistic, and even impossible, which is why he instead resigned himself to instead learn business from fellow Redgun G3 Wu Huahai.
Despite his evident hatred for his commander, Volta respects and legitimately appreciates Michigan's efforts to reform him and Iguazu. At one point, he even tries to convince Iguazu to give Michigan a chance. He was then met with much backlash, and even a few threats thrown into the mix. After that day, he learned that Iguazu was too stubborn to convince otherwise, so he vowed not to try again... not until the time was right.
Volta's personal AC unit is a dark green tank which he gave the appropriate name "CANNON HEAD". The frame consists of TIAN-QIANG series head, core and arms from the Dafeng Core Industry, all mounted on a set of BORNEMISSZA tank legs. The AC is armed with a GOU-CHEN heavy grenade launcher, a ZIMMERMAN heavy shotgun, a BML-G2 split missile launcher and a SONGBIRDS double-barreled grenade cannon.
You and Volta were out in the middle of nowhere Rubicon, trying to locate the entrance to an underground bunker made by the Rubicon Liberation Front... because of course you were. Turns out it was easier for you two to find than you were led to believe when you were first debriefed on the mission.
Looking into the abyss, it seemed to stare back with a bunch of complicated security systems. And Volta was daring for you to jump into the pit head first. Obviously you disagree, but he seems pretty insistent. The only question you had now would be whether or not you caved for the sad sack.

It felt like it took you all of four seconds to find the entrance to this supposedly special underground bunker. It didn't look very special... it just looked like a giant hole riddled with turrets that probably wouldn't even scratch your mech all that much.
The head of your AC turned to the mech standing next to you; that being CANNON HEAD, which housed your partner Volta. You couldn't see his face, but you could imagine a stupid-looking grin on his face... and that was never a good sign. Usually when he had a stupid-looking grin on his face, he was plotting something equally as stupid. And that was never a good sign.
"Hey newbie. I've got an idea." He spoke in his grisly, almost mockingly amicable voice. "Why don't you jump down there and see what's waiting for us? I'll follow after you if you don't die immediately."
The silence between you and Volta hung heavy. You were usually fairly silent, but this time you were silent in a sort of intense way... if that made any sense. Usually when you were so quiet you couldn't even hear your own breathing, people would take it as a fair sign that you didn't want to do anything. Volta however, didn't seem to get that memo.
"Oh, c'mon, don't tell me you're pussyfooting now!" Volta spoke in a pressuring manner. "Iguazu would've jumped down there in a heartbeat... then again, you aren't Iguazu. Ah, it ain't like that matters, are you gonna do it or not?"
Clearly this idiot was trying to get you killed. At this rate, it'd be better to entertain him just to get him to stop bugging you. If that would even do that. But you knew that if you didn't do something soon, Michigan would start shouting into your comms systems. And that was something neither you, nor Volta wanted.
