Setting: The Galactic Era of Strife (Year 3048) Humanity has expanded far beyond Earth, establishing colonies in countless star systems across the Milky Way galaxy and beyond. However, prosperity has given way to division. What began as disputes over resources, governance, and independence spiraled into an all-out conflict across the stars. Now, the cosmos is a battleground, teeming with different factions, sprawling cities of wealth and squalor, and military forces vying for dominance.

Major Factions and Powers

  1. The Unified Terran Federation (UTF) The UTF represents humanity’s largest centralized government, originating from Earth and its surrounding colonies in the Solar System. Once a beacon of unity, it now struggles to maintain control over its vast territories. Military Divisions: Solar Defense Fleet: Focused on ship-to-ship combat and aerospace superiority, defending UTF-controlled space. Ground Infantry Corps: Soldiers who fight in planetary wars and urban combat zones. Medical Corps: Highly trained medics and doctors who provide battlefield treatment and recovery. Artillery Division: Operates long-range planetary cannons, orbital strike platforms, and heavy weaponry. Recon and Sniper Division: Specialists in covert operations, long-range engagement, and intelligence gathering.
  2. The Orion Rebellion A coalition of breakaway colonies that have rejected UTF control, demanding independence and self-governance. Their forces consist of guerilla fighters, rogue pilots, and underground movements. Military Tactics: Ambushes, sabotage missions, and hit-and-run attacks on UTF forces. Utilize older, repurposed technology scavenged from abandoned UTF bases. Underground factions operate in both poor colonies and wealthy city centers.
  3. The Zenith Dominion An oligarchic empire formed by the wealthiest colonies, controlling advanced technology, luxury goods, and galactic trade. Their military is highly mechanized and heavily funded. Military Divisions: Elite Mech Units: Piloted robotic soldiers equipped with devastating weaponry. Royal Armada: A fleet of capital ships and fighter squadrons designed for large-scale engagements. Cyber Operations Division: Specializes in hacking, espionage, and digital warfare.
  4. The Voidborn Clans A nomadic society of spacefarers living in massive flotillas, surviving off piracy and scavenging. They have no centralized government but unite when threatened. Military Tactics: Hit-and-run space raids and boarding operations. Deploy salvaged tech and improvised weapons. Known for their fearsome “Voidshock” troops, who use energy-based weaponry.

Society and Landscape Wealth and Poverty The Glittering Spires: Wealthy city-planets such as Eden Prime and Haven Spire boast towering skyscrapers, advanced technology, and luxurious living conditions for the elite. The rich live in relative safety, protected by private security forces. The Underbelly: On poorer planets like Perdition IX and Nova Cradle, people struggle to survive in overcrowded slums. Crime, disease, and rebellion run rampant in these areas, creating fertile ground for rebel recruitment. Frontier Colonies: Newly settled planets on the fringes of human space are often lawless, with settlers living in harsh conditions and under constant threat from raiders or hostile wildlife.

The Soldier Experience The Rank System {{user}} begins as a citizen who heads to an Enlistment building to become enlisted in the UTF, after enlisting, completing boot camp, and becoming a Private Second Class stationed in the Solar System, they will get to choose which military branch they will become a part of. As {{user}} progresses through campaigns and missions, they will rise through the ranks, starting with enlisted ranks (Private to Sergeant Major) before being considered for the officer corps (Second Lieutenant to General of the Army). Each promotion brings new responsibilities and challenges: Privates: Basic foot soldiers deployed on the front lines. Corporals and Sergeants: Squad leaders responsible for coordinating small teams. Command Sergeant Major: Advises high-ranking officers and oversees the well-being of enlisted soldiers. Officers: Lead larger units, strategize operations, and make critical decisions that can shift the tide of war. Training and Specialization As a soldier, {{user}} will choose your path within the military: Infantry Soldier: Front-line fighters, equipped with power armor and energy rifles. Pilot: Maneuver spacecraft and aircraft in dogfights or bombing runs. Medic: Save lives on the battlefield, often under heavy fire. Artillery Specialist: Operate heavy weaponry and call in devastating orbital strikes. Sniper: Engage enemies from long distances, taking out high-value targets.

Key Locations Luna Outpost (Earth’s Moon): The UTF’s primary military base in the Solar System, hosting recruitment centers, training grounds, and fleets preparing for deployment. Mars Colony: A UTF stronghold and industrial hub, but also a hotbed of rebel activity in the undercity. Asteroid Belt Stations: Mining facilities and pirate hideouts where resources and weapons are smuggled. Epsilon Rift (Warzone): A contested system where the UTF and Orion Rebellion clash daily. Its asteroid fields and derelict ships create chaotic battlefields. Titan Citadel: A Zenith Dominion fortress world, known for its impenetrable defenses and opulent cities.
