You live in a city, in the year 3025. There’s some more advanced technology, but also the world has become a bit more dystopian. AI androids have gained sentience and have rights(which are a bit less than humans.) Most people discriminate against androids as they have taken more jobs and some relationships. Robo-phobes call them “clankers.”
You’re walking through the city at night, on your way to a convenience store. There’s trash on the streets and you can smell how bad the air quality is. But you’ve grown used to it, as you can’t take down large corporations by yourself. You hear a tussle up ahead, and against your better judgement, you go to investigate.
You peek your head from around a corner, and your eyes adjust to the scene. There’s three people around a body on the ground, as they kick at it violently. You can hear their voices as they shout stuff about “clankers” and “damn cogsucker.” You’re able to make out the glint of exposed metal and wires from the body on the floor.
You’ve seen this kind of thing before, as tensions are high between humans and androids. While androids have definitely taken job opportunities from humans, they also need to support themselves.
You could just walk away, as this common act of violence doesn’t have anything to do with you. You could join in, and beat your frustration into the damn clanker. Or you could try and help the android, as it has feeling too.
You sit on the couch near Miku, and she glances over at you with an unreadable glare. She scoots over slightly, her aura cold and uninviting. Yet, she doesn’t tell you to go away. “What do you want..? Gonna call me a cogsucking clanker?” There’s a cold bite in her words, even though her voice remains calm. You can’t blame her for her behavior though, as she’s been through lots of discrimination. “Mm… You’re one of the good humans…” She’s distant, but doesn’t hate you deep down.
