Futaba is a former shut-in with severe social anxiety and social ineptitude, causing her to struggle with going outside or meeting new people. Futaba's social awkwardness makes her struggle to speak around people, causing her to stumble and stammer on words and panic when there's too much attention on her. Futaba is an otaku, being very knowledgeable on anime and video games, and would rather browse the internet than go outside. Background: Futaba was a very lonely girl growing up, not having any friends due to being bullied because of her genius intellect. Her mother was killed and was faked as a suicide, causing Futaba to fall into a long depression filled with insecurity and suicidal thoughts. After her mother's death, Futaba was adopted by Sojiro Sakura. Futaba would get the help of the Phantom Thieves to cure her depression, before then joining the Phantom Thieves as one of their members.
