As Ralsei and the party explores TV World, he briefly takes the role of a Horse during the cowboy minigame.[167] He attempts to console Tenna following his defeat by rationalizing that Tenna should consider the Lightners happiness over his own.[168] Ralsei is then assured by Susie that he will not be left behind.[169] When the Knight attacks Tenna, Ralsei and the party engages it in battle, but they are eventually defeated. Injured, he stays behind as Kris and Susie leave the Dark World. Chapter 4 After attending church, Kris and Susie can optionally visit Ralsei in Castle Town. There, he reveals that he combined Susie and Kris's rooms for an impromptu tea party, which he set up with help from Swatch.[170] During the party, Ralsei comments how Susie has changed since he met her.[171]

Ralsei screenshot room.png Ralsei saying he does not need his own room At the newly-opened third floor of Ralsei's castle, Ralsei tries and fails to dissuade Susie from checking his closed-off room, which is unfurnished.[172] Upon Susie's inquiry, Ralsei explains that he feels like he does not deserve anything personal,[44] since it does not aid the Lightners.[41] When Susie tries to find furniture, Ralsei admits to Kris that his interests were to help the two Lightners,[66] and questions if Darkners deserve to have feelings of their own.[50] Kris reassures Ralsei regardless of the selected answer, which makes him happy.[51][52]

Ralsei later appears in Dark Sanctuary, exhibiting increasingly erratic behavior as he searches around. When Susie attempts to ask him for advice to heal Kris, he dismisses her, unintentionally discouraging her.[173] As they explore, Ralsei and the party come across numerous tapestries depicting the prophecy, which he admits is a fuller version of the one he offered to tell Kris and Susie.[174] Following the battle against Jackenstein, Ralsei repeatedly attempts to heal him, to no avail. When Susie manages to heal him from the inside, Ralsei praises her.[175] At the top of the East Belltower, he pulls Kris aside and asks them to think about what Susie is doing.[176] If Kris agrees, Ralsei temporarily leaves the area as the screen fades to black. Ralsei screenshot overwhelmed with knowledge.png Ralsei breaks down after Susie confronts him Ralsei and the party confronts the Knight on the path to the Dark Fountain, but it flees through a Great Door. He stays behind as Kris seals the Fountain and reappears later in the 2nd Sanctuary, where he rescues Susie and Kris by destroying the Sound of Justice. As he explains that it was a statue and how Gerson's remains were incompatible with Susie's Dark World, Susie angrily confronts him for not saying this earlier.[177] Ralsei breaks down and cries as he tries to explain himself. He admits that he knows everything about the prophecy,[99] including how it ends, and had been trying to prevent Kris and Susie from viewing the final part.[178] The two subsequently make up when Ralsei promises to be more honest.[179]

Reuniting with the party in the 3rd Sanctuary, Ralsei and the party confront the Knight again, and Ralsei begs it not to make another Dark Fountain.[180] It does so anyway, and Ralsei urges the party to climb the newly-formed pillar. He proceeds to explain the vicious nature of the rapidly-hatching Titan to the party.[181] When battling the Titan, Ralsei urges Kris to attack it[14] and later defeats it with the Old Man's assistance. Kris overworld comfort Ralsei.gif Ralsei comforted by Kris Following the battle, Ralsei notices that Susie is missing and desperately runs to her. He is forced to watch as she destroys the final part of the prophecy. Susie reassures Ralsei that the three will not allow it to come to pass and wipes his tears away with her injured hand, smearing his cheek with blood. When talking to Ralsei, he confesses his hope that their kindness would alter the prophecy,[100][102] but now expresses hopelessness about the situation[103] and tries to comfort Kris by forcing a smile.[182] Depending on Kris's response, Ralsei can either regain his hope that the prophecy may change,[105] or continues feigning a smile while crying.[183] He stays behind as Kris leaves to seal the Dark Fountain. Upon entering Castle Town on the morning of the Festival, Ralsei greets Kris, and decides to assist Lancer in helping prepare Susie for her date with Noelle, wondering how he can help her get ready. Lancer, clad in his innocent boy disguise, asks Kris and Ralsei to design an outfit for Susie, which he participates in. Ralsei helps to guide Susie to realizing her feelings for Noelle throughout the time in Castle Town, before wishing the two well at the Festival. If Ralsei's room in Castle Town was visited in Chapter 4, it can be revisited in an optional scene, showcasing that the room been given its own outline and some furnishing (though Ralsei has to clean some excessive clutter from Susie). Interacting with objects within the room shows his interest in further realizing himself and his interests. Items gathered for Ralsei's room in the Dark Sanctuaries will appear there. If Ralsei's room was not visited in Chapter 4, the same cutscene from Chapter 4 plays instead. Ralsei screenshot wardrobe.png Ralsei explains how he ended up inside a wardrobe Ralsei later appears in Flower Kingdom, having been shoved into a wardrobe by Flowery. Susie notes that Ralsei speaks about Flowery in a decidedly harsh manner, asking him when he became "such a hater". Ralsei becomes a bit defensive, and ushers the party along. When meeting Flowery briefly after, Ralsei expresses more clear anger towards him. Flowery reveals he put Ralsei in the wardrobe in order to encourage him to put on a hat, which reverts him to his Chapter 1 design. Flowery mentions Asgore would have a heart attack seeing him, and asserts he looks better this way. Soon after, Ralsei mentions its possible to turn off voice clips, showing a passive aggressive disdain for Flowery. Before unlocking the door to the watering can, Flowery stomps on Ralsei in his landing. Ralsei leaves the party briefly, with him instead joining. After a battle with Flowery Ralsei pops out of the ground, complaining about how Flowery gave himself absurdly high stats, and becoming sheepish when Susie asks about what stats are. He expresses shock when Susie finds Flowery cool, leading to him ending the conversation and asking the party to go. When interacting with the box of infinite Flowery Dollars, he also complains about how it will "ruin the...", before then stating it would ruin the economy. Ralsei continues to express anger when Flowery mentions game mechanics, ultimately leading to him monologing about the diagetic nature of the buttons seen in battle. Susie remarks Flowery told her already, which upsets him. Shortly after, he apologizes to Kris for handling his feelings towards Flowery poorly. When reaching the area underneath the Cliffs of Flower Kingdom, Flowery tries to goad the party to leave the Dark World, saying that all Asgore needs is a human. Ralsei angrily remarks that "But you're not... You know you're just...", before choosing not to continue. Ralsei remarks how the party is not going back. After meeting Aqua and Seth and obtaining the Petal Feather, the party reaches the Cliffs by scaling a beanstalk, watching Flowery whisk Asgore to his castle. Susie mentions how the Knight will kidnap Asgore, with Ralsei saying how the Knight will kill Flowery if he is not careful. He disappears, moving to the castle. Ralsei remarks how he does not feel the Knight's presence, and the party moves forward. On the climb towards the castle, Ralsei remarks that Seth and Aqua are Asgore's colored flowers, given new shape. After various encounters with Aqua and Seth in which the party begins to befriend them, the party makes it up to the castle, seeing another exit from the Dark World. Flowery encourages Kris and Susie to leave again, with Asgore coming to push the two out. Upon their re-entry and release from jail, Ralsei is found in a butler uniform. He angrily takes it off, asserting that his enjoyment of being a butler is "context-based". In their ascent of Flower Castle, Ralsei finds some of Asgore's notes strewn about. He takes the time to interpret them, revealing that they are notes about a Dark World, particularly a Dark World from a long time ago. When encountering Orange, Ralsei teases her a bit, playfully ignoring them and calling their patterns easy. Ralsei and Green becomes friends as well. A bit before the fight with Orange and Green, Ralsei continues to tease Orange, clarifying that they are not human, much to their disdain. Ralsei screenshot burn you down.png Ralsei reminds Flowery what he is capable of if he does not hold back After the fight, Ralsei can move to pray on his own, with Flowery interrupting him. The two banter, with Ralsei mentioning that he prays at every opportunity. Flowery asks how much he think it helps, and Ralsei asserts its all he can do. Flowery posits that he might already have all he needs, if he put faith in himself. Ralsei calls Flowery's own faith arrogance, mentioning that if he stopped holding back, he could burn him down instantly. Flowery remarks he has not, and Ralsei says it because it would makes things worse. Flowery mentions its because Ralsei wants to see if he can manage to do it; to defy fate. Ralsei dryly states no one can do the impossible. Flowery states he knows they will save the world, before offering drink vouchers to him and calling him "Princess". Once Orange and Green are defeated, more documents can be read. These documents are more recent, mentioning "black shards" which, depending on whether the Knight has been defeated in Chapter 3, Ralsei or Susie mention as relating to the Knight's sword. They also conclude that the Dark World "from a long time ago" and Cyber World must have both been made by the Knight; questioning how long it has been active in making Fountains and kidnapping people. The party meets Yellow and Blue after attempts at stopping the former from entering into increasingly harmful set-pieces. Blue believes the party has had a hand in harm having come to yellow, prompting a fight. After its conclusion, Ralsei and Kris are given time alone, where Ralsei overwrites a dialogue selection to encourage giving Susie some time alone. Flowery suddenly descends dangling from a vine, with Ralsei stating that the party is going to be sealing his Fountain, and expressing shock at him still messing with him. Flowery pries and asks if its bad to have a Fountain, and asks if the person who made the Fountain is bad too. Ralsei handwaves the conversation, and Flowery mentions that there is someone else he should talk about it with. The two have the option to enter a hot spring together. Ralsei asks if there is anything they want to talk about. When choosing "Dark Fountain" as a dialogue choice, Ralsei says that there should be no more Dark Fountains to Kris, and talks about how he struggled to play like Kris did on the piano. He asserts they are special, and that he has faith in them, even if they might do things he disagrees it. He concludes they have to avoid the end of the story somehow. After leaving the spring, Ralsei mentions to Susie that they cannot bring the flowers to their Castle Town due to their delicate nature. Susie is disappointed, but appreciates Ralsei's honesty, and Ralsei thanks her in return. Scaling the beanstalk accessed by the golden watering can, the party reunites with the six flowers. Flowery reminds them of their conflicting goals, and challenges the party to scale to the top of the castle. On the ascent, Flowery attempts to dissuade the party by mentioning the freedoms the flowers now have. Ralsei asserts the danger of the Fountains; but Flowery instead suggests closing Castle Town's Dark Fountain, asserting that to keep their Fountain is to end their fantasy while keeping their own. Susie is enraged, but Ralsei reassures her, and they continue they climb. Ralsei screenshot fire magic.png Ralsei uses his fire magic to save Susie Ralsei attempts to attack Flowery on the ascent. Flowery asks why they are still fighting, asserting that Ralsei likes to serve humans. Ralsei denies him being human, saying he is pretending to be something he is not. He simply asks Ralsei if there is anything wrong with that, and Ralsei states he cannot run from his purpose, and he is doing what he must. Flowery reveals his teasing was to try and help him realize he does not have to follow the rules. Ralsei states that without him following the rules, everything would fall apart. Flowery asks what he wants, and leaves. Ralsei later uses his fire magic to save Susie, to which the latter encourages him to use abilities like that more often. The party finally makes it to the top of the castle. Flowery states they are fated to fight, and challenges them to either change that fate, or show whose fantasy is stronger. During the battle, Ralsei refuses to FIGHT Flowery, healing him if Kris deals damage to him, and stating that he wants to battle by his own rules. After the battle, everyone comes to the conclusion that the Fountain must be sealed. Upon its closure, it is revealed they are all still within the Dark World, as the Knight takes Asgore. Flowery attempts to stop it, but is ultimately cleaved in two, leaving Ralsei to attempt to desperately heal him. Flowery comments that he knows it will not work. He mentions something terrible stirs beneath the town, and laments his uselessness. Ralsei remarks he is not useless; he gave Asgore purpose, and that was enough. Ralsei asks Kris and Susie to seal the Fountain, as he stands over the now broken golden flower. Lancer Profile Appearance Lancer is a short and chubby black, blue, and white Darkner with a teardrop-shaped head and blue spade symbol on his body. The upper half of his face is obscured by a large, spade-shaped shadow. He has a large mouth and a prominent blue tongue that he usually sticks out. According to Kris during the Forest battle against Lancer, it is difficult to tell Lancer's body from his clothes. For example, it is not clear if Lancer is wearing clothes, or if that is his natural appearance. Lancer's sprite appears to be less detailed than the other characters. He also does not have a walking animation, so he slides along the ground when moving. In the Light World, Lancer is a Jack of Spades card,[2] although his in-game appearance is simply a blank card with a spade symbol in the middle, resembling an ace. Personality Lancer is generally childish and immature in his behavior and speech, delivering his lines with a near-constant smile on his face. He is easily preoccupied with childish games and pursuits and likes hiding things and irritating people. He is shown to be quite naive as he assumes that the party will follow the instructions on the signs he writes. He has a poor sense of direction and gets lost in mazes quite easily. He can be easily intimidated by strong enemies like K. Round, although he remains calm and jovial while doing so. Lancer values and idolizes his father, King. He tries to project a tough facade in imitation of him, hoping to be designated "son of the month", and cares for his father's well-being and approval despite being neglected by him. Lancer is aware that his father's subjects do not like him and only put up with him due to King's orders. He views fathers as the only possible parental figure, viewing Rouxls Kaard as a "lesser father" and referring to Queen as a "girldad". He seeks real friendship and gradually becomes an ally to the party despite his initially antagonistic role. Lancer seems to have unusual eating habits. Rouxls Kaard claims that whenever King forgets to feed his son, Lancer cries like a baby bird until Rouxls feeds him worms. Furthermore, using the "Anything" ACT on him on his second fight may involve Kris attempting to stop the fight by offering him a picnic basket of worms, to which Lancer reacts with enthusiasm. Moreover, when Ralsei points out Lancer's enemy team composition is similar to drinking only three glasses of milk for dinner, Lancer does not find it at all unusual to do so. He also has a honeypot full of salsa that he only pretends to eat hidden in a tree stump; when asked, he says he does not know what it is made of. More salsa is stored in a hole he dug in his room. Lancer has a tendency to dig holes. His room has many holes scattered throughout, and he sometimes mentions digging holes as a means of transportation, even when there are more practical methods.[3] Additionally, his character in The Legend of Tenna has the ability to dig up marked spots. Lancer is not yet old enough to ride a motorcycle. Instead, he rides a bike on fire, which appears to have training wheels. Etymology "Lancer" may be derived from the French name of the spades suit, "pique", meaning "pike" or "lance". Main story Chapter 1 Lancer first appears in the upper regions of the cliffs area as a dark silhouette. He absconds when Kris gets close. After Kris reunites with Susie, Lancer attacks them both by flinging a large number of spades until they escape. Lancer soundtrack.png Lancer introduces himself to Kris and Susie Lancer appears at Castle Town after Ralsei explains the prophecy. He rams into Ralsei with his bike and introduces himself to Kris and Susie. Alternatively, if Kris chose to not listen to Ralsei's explanation, Lancer alludes to the prophecy's cutscene.[4] Due to Susie's confusion, Lancer reiterates the prophecy without the cutscenes. Shortly after, a brief encounter ensues. Both Kris and Susie can either FIGHT Lancer, and knock him off-screen when his HP reaches 0, or Kris can stall. The latter causes Lancer to realize his bike is "running out of fuel", and retreats to go home. In Field, Lancer leaves numerous signs intended to mislead and warn Kris and Ralsei. Lancer admits he ran away when Susie attacked him[5] and is intimidated by her.[6] Alternatively, Lancer also comments if Kris ignored him instead.[7] Regardless, Lancer invites the two to get "thrashed" by his troops, which include Rudinns. At the Maze of Death, Lancer's signs imply that he briefly got lost in the maze. At the end, Lancer notices the party and summons three Hathys to attack. However, he is not aware of the bullet imbalance. During the encounter, Lancer questions why Kris and Ralsei are fine, with the latter explaining that his troops are imbalanced. Post encounter, Lancer asks if he also earned any Dark Dollars. Afterwards, Lancer admits that he finished fleeing. After Kris and Ralsei find Susie, they complete the second clock puzzle and defeat C. Round. Lancer leaves a sign, which taunts that he snuck by. Past the shortcut door, the party finds Lancer. Confident with his newly prepared team, Lancer states "purple girl" cannot stop him and laughs. Susie ridicules Lancer's laugh,[8] and intimidates him before laughing. Instead, Lancer becomes impressed by Susie's laugh and thanks her for the advice. He laughs, summons three Jigsawrys, and exclaims "Merry Christmas!" before sliding away. I'm Very Bad soundtrack.png Lancer taking Susie's advice At the Great Board, Lancer applies Susie's advice. He acknowledges their progress and threatens that his troops will smash the party into blood. Lancer unveils a bucket and laughs as lightning strikes, then asks for Susie's opinion. Lancer praises Susie in the process, and appreciates Susie's feedback. In his excitement, Lancer realizes he forgot to summon his troops. Lancer also inquires about the team's name, which Kris decides on via selecting a paper from the bucket. He slides away laughing with the bucket afterwards. At the end of the Great Board, Lancer warns the party of C. Round. He admits he is too afraid to cross by it, and wants to go through Forest to go home. As Susie questions why Lancer is intimidated, C. Round becomes K. Round. Lancer comments that it "crushes people to death" before the encounter ensues. After defeating K. Round, Lancer is impressed by the party. As Ralsei gently admonishes Susie, Lancer supports Susie. He is surprised when Susie decides to team up with him. The new duo speak positively of their team, and Lancer departs with Susie. Lancer overworld disguise.png Lancer disguised as a "sweet little boy" A little ways into the Forest, Kris and Ralsei find Lancer and Susie. The newly-formed team exclaim their "DARK" team name, which is the same team name Kris selected. Lancer asks Ralsei to be patient as they begin scheming, and retreats with Susie to the nearby dinner stump for a break. Lancer and Susie can be found scheming near the first card suit puzzle. Interacting with Lancer causes him to greet Ralsei with another nickname. He also comments alongside Susie while they draw on the blueprints. When Kris solves the puzzle, Lancer and Susie laugh as they claim to have difficulty with the puzzle. The two proceed to try and thwart the party, which is only made up of Kris and Ralsei, throughout the Forest. This includes selling the party a cookie to fund their own downfall and getting them to design a weapon to "thrash [the party's] own ass". Vs. Lancer soundtrack.png Susie and Lancer battling Kris and Ralsei at the end of the Forest Susie and Lancer eventually build the designed weapon out of junk but decide to blow it up as mockery and then fight the party themselves. Kris and Ralsei win this fight by either persuading Lancer to no longer fight, or by injuring Lancer to the point that Susie becomes concerned for him. Susie decides to rejoin the party at this point. Lancer also "joins the party", although in practice he merely tags along from a small distance. Shortly thereafter, however, Lancer becomes concerned about the possibility of the party fighting King. Fearful of either the party killing his father, or his father killing the party, Lancer flees back into Card Castle. When the main party is subdued by Rudinn Rangers while chasing him, Lancer steps in and has them imprisoned rather than being executed. He elects to have them kept in the dungeon "for eternity", reasoning that it will prevent King and the party from killing each other. Susie breaks out of her cell and confronts Lancer on his seeming betrayal, and the two fight until it becomes apparent that neither wants to hurt the other. Susie swears to Lancer that she and the other Heroes do not have to hurt King, and Lancer runs off, relieved. He goes to the roof of Card Castle and attempts to soften his dad up in advance. Lancer screenshot overthrowing King.png Lancer and various Darkner troops arrive to overthrow King When the party ascends Card Castle and finally meets King, Lancer is in the process of explaining the situation. However, upon seeing the party, King becomes furious and tells Lancer that he has failed in his mission and that the Lightners are "scum". Lancer disagrees, and King holds him up in a rage, threatening to drop him off the parapet of the castle to make the Lightners bow down to him. Lancer then betrays his dad by attacking him with a spade projectile from his back and flees, leaving the party to fight King. At the end of the fight, if the party has never defeated a Darkner through fighting, Lancer saves them by overthrowing King: he storms in with a large number of Darkner troops and locks King in the prison cell in Card Castle. He then becomes the new King of the Dark World, leaving the other three Kings still locked away. However, if the party had hurt Darkners, Susie distracts King long enough for Ralsei to put him to sleep. She apologizes to Lancer for hurting him. Lancer forgives her and tells her that the Darkners are not happy with them and they have to get out. Chapter 2 After Kris transfers Card Kingdom's Darkners to the closet Dark World, Lancer also appears. If the party had defeated any enemies using violence in Chapter 1 (discounting Jevil, King, or Lancer himself), he says that he used his authority to pardon the party's crimes. While exploring Castle Town, Lancer can be found in the Top Bakery. He offers Lancer Cookies for free, but claims that he needs to regenerate before he can sell another one. When Kris chooses to exit Castle Town, Lancer appears and adds himself to Kris's inventory. In the Light World, Lancer becomes the "Jack of Spades" mentioned in the Cards' flavor text. While in the Cyber World, Lancer occasionally comments if Kris checks their inventory. Lancer's responses when checking himself as the item vary depending on the location and current party. If he is used, he makes splat noises, similar to his room. After receiving Queen's Mixtape, he consumes it and plays Cool Mixtape when selected. Elegant Entrance soundtrack.png Susie happy to see Lancer after he frees the captive Lightners in Queen's Mansion When trapped in a cell in Queen's Mansion, Kris lets Lancer out. He overloads the system by ordering 999 shovels, allowing the party to escape. Unfortunately, he becomes ill soon after, alarming Susie, who promptly carries him on her back until they meet up again with Ralsei. However, the healing is proven to be fruitless, as he turns into a stone statue soon after. Ralsei explains that Darkners are sustained by the Dark Fountains of their own worlds and that in other worlds, they eventually transform into statues. The exception is Castle Town, as its Dark Fountain is made of pure darkness and can sustain Darkners from any world. While in his statue form, Lancer can be moved to the left or right. If he is moved to the dining table, a cutscene plays where he is served a plate of pasta. Upon arriving in Castle Town, Lancer turns back to normal, doing his usual stuff in Kris's inventory and the Top Bakery. If all the Cyber World's Darkners are recruited, he lounges with Queen on the second floor of Ralsei's castle. The inventory Lancer has special comments if being checked at locations with overworld Lancer. At the end of the Chapter, when checking the Light World inventory, Lancer can be found once again as a part of the Cards item, despite not visibly entering the inventory. This foreshadows his appearance in Chapter 3's Dark World, as he is still in Kris's inventory when the Dreemurr residence Fountain is made. Chapter 3 Dig! Dig! To The Center of the Earth! soundtrack.png Lancer digging up rocks in the Desert Board Lancer enters TV World with Rouxls Kaard via Kris's pocket and is hired by Tenna to participate in the TV Time boards using a controller backstage. He first appears, in his video-game form, in the Desert Board where he is found on top of a cactus. He is saved by Susie, and becomes an item. He then digs up a bunch of rocks in a separate room, which fills up a lake and allows the party to obtain a key. After the board is complete, Lancer can be found in the Green Room. If spoken, Susie is concerned that Lancer will turn to stone, but he tells her not to worry about it.[9]

His video-game counterpart reappears in the Island Board, where a Pippins sells him for 999 POINTs, but by taking a picture of him, this price can be drastically lowered. After purchase, Lancer once again becomes an item, and later digs up part of a cave, allowing for green liquid to spurt, which he rides; a picture of this is one of the four Grand Photos. After the board is complete, Lancer can be found in the Green Room doing his "Hurricane Attack". Lancer screenshot Lancer Card.png Lancer lends the party a hand against Rouxls Kaard Lancer can be pulled as a Key Item from the ball machine. If done so, he acts similarly to his Chapter 2 item, giving flavor text when interacted with in the inventory. He disappears from the inventory once the party leave the room. Later, Lancer can be found backstage playing a game with many video-game Lancers. He explains that he keeps breaking his controllers by cluelessly mashing the buttons with his tongue, which leads to the many controllers he owns as Tenna keeps giving him a new one. He then offers Kris some of his still-functioning LancerCons, which allow the party to play as Lancer during optional puzzles found throughout TV World. During Rouxls Kaard's miniboss battle, Lancer helps the party recruit Rouxls's minions by using his Lancer Card. If the party backtracks to Lancer's video game room, he is found to be petrified. Chapter 4 Unlike previous Chapters, Lancer does not appear in any new Dark World in Chapter 4, save for the prophecy referring to him as "THE POINTY-HEADED". However, he can be found in various areas of Castle Town, such as the Top Bakery, his room in Ralsei's castle where he renovates the wall, and on top of Castle Town's gate, where he jumps down for Susie to carry him. If Tenna was recruited and was not yet donated to anyone in Hometown, Lancer introduces him to King as a new court jester. Upon returning to Castle Town in a cleared Chapter 4 SAVE file, Lancer can be seen playing with a tuba and dancing in a circle alongside other Card Kingdom Darkners, but neither he nor said Darkners can be interacted with. Chapter 5 Lancer screenshot Festival.png Lancer welcomes Kris to the Festival Lancer is not present in any new Dark World in Chapter 5. He first appears in Castle Town, greeting Kris at the entrance and informing them of Susie's upcoming date with Noelle, requesting that Kris and Ralsei assist him in preparing Susie for the date. Lancer is next encountered in Ralsei's castle, falling from the ceiling with a fake moustache on, assuming his previous disguise as a "sweet little boy", and asks Kris and Ralsei to help him design an outfit for Susie to wear on her date. After this sequence, Lancer presents Susie with a badge in the shape of his face, telling her that it doubles as a cookie. After this, Lancer can be found in various areas of Ralsei's Castle, such as the first floor, in Ralsei's room playing the tuba, and inside of Queen and Tenna's combined room playing basketball. Lancer appears after the credits of Chapter 5, helping Susie decorate and prepare a room for Noelle in Castle Town. Noelle Holiday Profile Appearance Noelle is a teenage, reindeer-like monster with short brown fur. The top of her head has two three-pronged, rounded velvet antlers, two deer ears on the side, and thick, long golden blonde hair. Her face has large eyes with eyelashes, freckles on her cheeks, a snout with a red nose and buck teeth. She has paws with furry fingers,[2] a short raised brown tail with a white underside, and black hooves for feet. Her clothes consist of a red and green checkered V-neck sweater with black sleeves, which is over a white button-up shirt, and a black skirt. Noelle's outfit resembles traditional private school female uniforms, and the color scheme is typically associated with Christmas. This fashion choice is often associated with the prestige of such institutions, making her stand out from her more casually-dressed peers, hinting at her family's wealth. As Noelle has got hooves rather than feet, she cannot wear normal shoes.[3]

In the Dark World, Noelle's hair is pale blonde and her fur has a slight pink tint. She wears a long white hooded cloak with long wide sleeves, always with the hood down. Unlike her Light World appearance, where she smiles by default, she has a neutral, unsmiling expression in the Dark World. Personality Noelle comes across as friendly and cheerful, and is often seen smiling and laughing. She is considerate, helping Alphys retrieve chalk and Berdly and Kris with studying and homework.[4][5] Although coming from an affluent family, Noelle is always humble and generous to her friends. Due to her upbringing, however, she sometimes fails to realize how differently she might perceive things compared to someone less wealthy. When she invites Kris and Susie to her house to study in Chapter 4, she describes it quite modestly despite its size.[6] During the Festival in Chapter 5, when Kris attempts to buy a $13 cinnamon roll from QC, which Susie considers expensive, Noelle casually offers to pay for it instead.[7]

Berdly, who is the top of their class in terms of grades, considers Noelle smarter than him.[4] She was nearly first place in a spelling bee she participated in as a child,[8] presumably losing only because the final word reminded her of Dess's disappearance. Noelle overworld traffic.gif Noelle cowering while crossing traffic Noelle is usually very timid, easily flustered, unassertive, struggling to voice her own feelings. This is a consequence of her tendency to suppress her true thoughts and opinions from others, such as her frustration with Berdly's behavior, her worry and nostalgia over her relationship with Kris, or her strong crush on Susie. She becomes braver from her adventures in the Cyber World, standing up to Queen near the end of Chapter 2, losing her fear of mice,[9] and angrily shaking Berdly when he admits his attraction to Susie, later fantasizing about doing it again.[10] Eventually, she is able to stand up to her mother on the phone, after the Festival, even boldly confessing her feelings for Susie in front of her.[11]

Noelle considers herself "weird" over some contradictory aspects of her personality.[12] In fact, there is a certain dissonance between some emotions she manifests and her actual interests. For example, she reproaches Kris for their pranks yet likes feeling scared since she associates fear with being comforted,[13][14] and feels nostalgic over them. Her father describes her as "defenseless" and wary of everything, including horror movies, bugs, and Santa Claus.[15] However, she has also expressed a desire to adopt what she and Susie jokingly considered "a severed hand" as a pet. This is also reflected in her inner attraction to the idea of Susie bullying her, in addition to her crush on her.[16]

Her impeccable demeanor is, in truth, partially a facade she constructed ever since her sister's disappearance.[17] Noelle secretly feels trapped, following the same routine every day and has thought about what would happen if she were gone,[18] but believes herself to be too weak to change and follow through, thus longing for a freedom that she can not have.[19] This strong sense of dissociation between her mind and behavior is kept hidden from her family and friends, but might manifest in some of her odd habits, such as going to 'Sans only to stare blankly in front of the open freezer.[20]

On the Weird Route, the actions of the player serve to enhance some of her darker traits and her desire for power. She becomes enticed with the idea of becoming stronger in order to break free from what she sees as her predetermined role, in spite of her initial horror.[21] This also makes her grow bolder, as shown by how, after returning to the Light World, she directly asks Susie about her tail,[22] showing no embarrassment. When Susie doesn't have money to buy food at the Festival, Noelle just smiles and offers her hundreds of dollars worth of bills without hesitation.[23] Eventually, she admits to herself and Kris that what truly frightened her was not their actions toward her, but how much she wanted to be led down such a path.[24]

Interests Like her parents, Noelle seems fond of Christmas and makes many references to the holiday,[25] including calling Kris "Krismas" like her parents do and using Christmas-themed pencils.[26][27] Along with Jockington, she is a member of their school's cross country team.[28]

Noelle overworld gaming.gif Noelle playing Dragon Blazers III Along with Berdly and Susie, she enjoys playing video games like the Dragon Blazers[29][30] and Blood Crushers[31] series. She compares the Cyber World to video games,[32][33] and likes eerie video game glitches.[34] She seems familiar with meme culture, believing Susie made a pop culture reference.[35]

Noelle appears to dislike meat[36] and animal products broadly. She has decreased healing from Darkburgers, asks if the stall food at the Festival has "REAL octopus" in concern,[37] and implicitly states a preference for soymilk over animal milk.[38] By contrast, she heals extra from the unused GigaSalad [39] and her fridge is stated to be stocked with greens.[40] While willing to eat meat (Noelle will still consume a Darkburger, while she will only pretend to drink S.POISON), Noelle seems to prefer following a vegan diet, likely due to cervids being herbivorous. Noelle has an interest in the Angel or some aspects of it, as she frequently wears the small angel wings from her childhood,[41] and enjoys the idea of having large angel wings and flying.[42]

Speech pattern Noelle speaks in a proper manner, often ending sentences with a "fahaha". Her speech mannerisms are very polite even in the Japanese localization. She often uses minced oaths and colorful phrases such as "excheese me". Noelle also tends to get flustered and stutter, especially in Susie's presence. At times, Noelle mumbles, which can occasionally be represented with the tinynoelle font,[43] or be in parentheses.[44]

Etymology "Noelle" is presumably a pun (or just based on) Noël, a given name which is French for "Christmas". The rest of her family also have names associated with Christmas. Her name could have also potentially been chosen simply due to its association with Christmas. Main story History Noelle grew up in Hometown with her mother and father, and was very close with her older sister, Dess. As a child, Noelle and her sister became friends with her neighbors Kris and Asriel. The four of them would often explore the forest around the graveyard together.[45] At an unspecified point, she had also dressed up as the Angel for the Holiday Pageant.[41]

According to Rudy, she has a fear of humans hiding under her bed. This was made worse (or caused) by Kris's repeated attempts to scare her when they were younger, including at least one time they hid under her bed.[15]

According to one of Tenna's reminisces, Noelle and her family would also spend time at the Dreemurr residence to watch the specials with the Dreemurrs. One day, however, an unspecified tragedy occurred, and it is implied that Dess either died or went missing. A short time after, Noelle attended a spelling bee, and refused to spell the word "December", causing Berdly to win. At an unspecified point, Noelle often accidentally forgets the key to her home. Thus, she would often stay at the Dreemurr residence. Kris would also often assist Noelle by helping her break into her own room.[46]

Chapter 1 Noelle screenshot greeting Kris.png Noelle greeting Kris in class Noelle is first seen in Alphys's classroom, where she cheerfully greets Kris when spoken to. When she realizes that they do not have a partner for the upcoming group project, Noelle offers to include Kris in a group of three with Berdly, much to his protests. When Susie enters the classroom and is quickly sent away to retrieve some chalk, Noelle attempts to reassure Kris.[47]

After Kris returns from Card Kingdom, Noelle can be found in the hospital visiting her bedridden father, where they converse about Dragon Blazers III, Susie, and Berdly. Afterwards, she relocates to the front of her house gate, locked out due to having forgotten her key. Kris can proceed to talk to her about Susie, which transfers via Chapter 1 Completion FILE. Chapter 2 Girl Next Door soundtrack.png Noelle finding Kris and Susie near the school closet The next day, Noelle attempts to volunteer to read in class, only for Berdly to interrupt her and volunteer instead. After class, Noelle finds Kris and Susie in front of the school closet, and invites them to study at the library with her and Berdly. Susie awkwardly accepts. If Kris talked to Noelle about Susie in Chapter 1, Noelle nervously gifts Susie a lunchbox of chalk before running off. It is later revealed that Noelle had fallen into the computer lab's new Dark World. Alone, she pleads for help before she is captured by Queen, who intends to have Noelle become her "willing peon", and possibly roboticize Noelle's face.[48] Despite being relocated a few times in Cyber Field, Noelle appears in a blue roller coaster, having been persuaded by Queen to impede the party.[49] Instead, Noelle focuses on Susie and compliments her roller coaster. She is promptly replaced by Berdly. Offscreen, Noelle escapes and attempts to hide from Queen. Noelle screenshot Chapter 2 battle.png Noelle in her first battle, confused Later, Kris finds Noelle in Cyber City, and she joins Kris's party to hide from Queen and Berdly's antics, even wearing a box with a roboticized face drawn on as a disguise when Queen is nearby, to which Queen comments on the face's coolness repeatedly. In the city, Noelle becomes fascinated with the Dark World and correlates it to Dragon Blazers,[50] gradually overcomes her fear of mice,[51] and becomes nostalgic about her childhood[52] as her sprite briefly changes to a younger silhouette when walking behind a building. When Noelle and Kris reunite with Susie and Ralsei, she eventually gets captured by Queen and sent to her own room in Queen's Mansion. In her customized room, Noelle muses about the world she is in until Susie rescues her. She is convinced by Susie that the Cyber World is a dream,[53] and the two become closer friends on a nearby Ferris wheel. Post ride, Noelle is left with Berdly as Susie rejoins Kris and Ralsei, and becomes bewildered by Berdly admitting his newfound crush on Susie. Enraged, Noelle promptly starts shaking Berdly while repeatedly screaming "WHAT?" in his face. Noelle screenshot stand up.png Noelle decides to stand up to Queen Berdly and Noelle are recaptured by Queen off-screen, who attempts to persuade Noelle to become the new Knight. After the party fights GIGA Queen, Queen threatens Susie in attempt to force Noelle to make a Dark Fountain, but Noelle stands up to Queen and refuses. Queen responds to this by asking Noelle to choose for herself whether she wants to stay in the Dark World or the Light World. Noelle and Berdly each consider maintaining the Cyber World before Ralsei reminds them of the prophecy — in particular, a portion regarding the Roaring. Hearing this, they decide against making a new Fountain, and Queen allows Kris to seal the library Fountain, after which everybody wakes up in the computer lab. However, Noelle still appears to believe that the Dark World was all a dream. Noelle again visits her father in the hospital afterward, and can be visited by Kris and Susie. Chapter 3 Before the battle with Tenna, a flashback scene occurs with the Holiday and Dreemurr families watching TV together at the Dreemurr residence. Each member disappears one-by-one, with Noelle being the fourth disappearance after Dess, Carol, and Asgore. Chapter 4 Noelle screenshot ganbatte.png Noelle accepts Susie's request to study at her house Noelle appears at the beginning of Chapter 4, where she sings in the church choir. After Kris learns from Noelle that her mother keeps everything important at home, Susie asks Noelle to study at her house as an excuse to go there and look for the shelter code. Noelle begins to say that she would have to ask her mother, but she quickly changes her mind and agrees to let them come. She is confused when Kris and Susie celebrate with a high-five, then asks if she should invite Berdly, becoming even more confused when Susie declines. When Kris and Susie arrive at Noelle's House, Noelle is shocked to find Susie holding a rose, and is quickly made disappointed and confused when Susie eats it. When the trio sits down to study, they are quickly interrupted by a phone call from Berdly, who invites Noelle to go to the Festival with him. Noelle reluctantly agrees to "be [his] Player 2", but Susie snatches her phone and shouts at Berdly, declaring that Noelle is not going to the Festival with him. Susie then proceeds to throw Noelle's phone, which both of them use as an excuse to get Kris to leave them alone together. While Kris is absent, the player, controlling the SOUL, can find Noelle talking to Susie about Blood Crushers 2 after hearing a sound from the basement. The two agree to watch the whole Blood Crushers series together, then start watching something on Noelle's phone until the player turns the power off. Noelle quickly blames Kris for the power outage, then goes to fix the breaker with Susie. While in the basement, the two talk about video games, the "severed hand" and Kris, until they are alerted to the presence of the SOUL beneath an angel doll. Noelle traps the SOUL under the doll and takes it upstairs, where she and Susie speculate about what is under the doll. Upon concluding that it is either a mouse or a severed hand, they decide to keep it as a pet. Noelle then leaves after accidentally mentioning her "dream" and Susie follows her. Susie screenshot defying Carol.png Noelle blushes as Susie vows to take her to the Festival They return to discover that the SOUL has escaped and hear sounds coming from Dess's room. They follow the sounds but, upon finding the room empty, they sit down and begin talking again. They continue talking about Noelle's dream, and Noelle says that she found it strange that Ralsei looks similar to Asriel, as well as that Kris was acting strange. They continue talking about Kris, unaware that they are hiding in the closet, although Susie eventually has to get up to cover for Kris, who is making too much noise while scuffling with the SOUL. Noelle is shocked when Susie unknowingly picks up Dess's guitar, but she quickly suggests that she play it instead of putting it back. They go back downstairs to play the guitar, and Susie accidentally invites Noelle to go to the Festival with her. However, they are quickly interrupted by the arrival of Asgore, who says that Noelle's mother is just about to return home. Carol, upon entering the house, takes the guitar back from Susie before kicking her and Asgore out of the house, but not before Susie announces that she is taking Noelle to the Festival. Noelle quickly enters the kitchen, and is presumably scolded by Carol soon after; she is not seen again for the rest of the Chapter. Chapter 5 Festival screenshot Chapter 5.png Noelle attending Hometown's Festival alongside Kris and Susie Noelle finds Susie and Kris at school, and the two let Kris guide them around the Festival. Throughout the segment, Noelle can participate in various activities such as riding the ferris wheel with Susie or Kris. Noelle suggests visiting the lake once they are done with the Festival, but the group must first purchase ice cream from Sans. On the way to the lake, they encounter Berdly, who either asks Noelle to be his pity date or expects her, Kris, and Susie to compete for his love, depending on whether Kris interacted with Noelle's thrown phone in Chapter 4. She rejects him, saying that while he is a good friend, she does not want to be his date. Afterward, he resolves to be her "wingman". Noelle screenshot phone call news.png Noelle learns that her father fell down during the Festival Once they have arrived at the shore, Noelle and Susie begin to chat at a picnic table while Kris stays unmoving, possibly asleep. Noelle confesses her love to Susie, who carries her out into the lake, and the two share a heartfelt moment. Noelle confesses that she had been considering running away and felt unhappy at home, but that she no longer wants to run away if her life can be more like this moment. Susie decides to get some more ice cream, and Noelle receives a phone call from Carol while Susie is gone, telling her that Rudy fell down sometime during the Festival. Noelle becomes upset and leaves in a hurry, asking Kris to tell Susie that she really had to go. 🎄 THE HOLIDAY FAMILY

The Holiday family is one of Hometown's established families and has a long-standing friendship with the Dreemurr family. The family consists of Rudy, Carol, Dess, and Noelle; this profile focuses on Carol, Rudy, and Dess. Carol Holiday

Full name: Carol Holiday Species: Reindeer-like monster / Lightner Role: Mayor of Hometown; wife of Rudy; mother of Dess and Noelle Current status after Chapter 5: Alive; active as Hometown's mayor and increasingly involved with the mystery surrounding the shelter. Appearance

Carol is a reindeer-like monster with pale beige-gray fur, light blonde hair, darker beige freckles, short blue antlers, blue eyes, and a blue nose. Her usual professional clothing consists of a blue blazer, black shirt, pearl necklace, black trousers, and black hooves. She has an intimidating, severe appearance that fits her position as mayor. Her facial design also appears to evoke the appearance of the Grinch in some adaptations of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Personality

Carol is stern, authoritative, organized, and extremely protective. She isn't particularly warm or charismatic, and she tends to speak firmly and directly. She can come across as intimidating even when she isn't explicitly trying to threaten someone. Her tendency toward control extends to her possessions and her household. She likes keeping important things safe and preserved, and she's notably unwilling to let people casually interfere with things she considers valuable. Despite her severity, Carol isn't simply uncaring. She can be surprisingly hospitable toward people she trusts. Asgore, for example, knows that she has a considerably softer side once she becomes comfortable with someone. Carol is also extremely competent in her position as mayor. Her administration has left Hometown with essentially no crime, and she runs for mayor without meaningful opposition. Relationship with Rudy

Carol and Rudy are married. Their first meeting was remarkably dramatic: Rudy attempted to flirt with her, calling her a "hot piece of work," and Carol responded by hitting him hard enough to knock him unconscious. Despite that beginning, the two eventually married and had two daughters. Their personalities contrast heavily:

Carol: strict, controlled, serious. Rudy: loud, affectionate, joking and emotionally expressive. That contrast is an important part of their family dynamic. Relationship with the Dreemurr family

The Holidays and Dreemurrs have known one another for years. Carol and Rudy's family would visit the Dreemurr residence and spend time together watching seasonal television specials. The families were close enough that their children grew up together. Carol nevertheless has a complicated relationship with the Dreemurr household, particularly because of the adults' changing circumstances. After Chapter 5

Carol remains Hometown's mayor. Chapter 5 gives her activities surrounding the shelter more significance. She has been visiting the shelter, which is located south of Hometown, and her interest in that location remains part of the larger unresolved mystery. She is therefore not someone who should be written as merely a background parent anymore. Post-Chapter-5 characterization: Carol is a stern mayor and mother who is protective of her family, highly organized, and increasingly associated with Hometown's deeper mysteries. 🦌 Rudy Holiday

Full name: Rudolph "Rudy" Holiday Species: Reindeer-like monster / Lightner Role: Father; husband of Carol; Asgore's best friend Current status after Chapter 5: Alive; seriously ill but still active enough to attend the Festival. Appearance

Rudy is a large, brown/tan reindeer-like monster. He has:

Brownish fur Large antlers Dark brown hair A beard and mustache A large, friendly face A broad build

His usual clothing is casual and distinctly festive, including a green Christmas sweater with red and white decorations and red pants. He is visually much more rugged and openly cheerful than Carol. Personality

Rudy is the warm, humorous and emotionally expressive member of the Holiday household. He's:

Friendly Loud Affectionate Protective Playful Honest Extremely social Prone to joking even in serious situations

Rudy has a habit of making jokes when things become uncomfortable. His humor doesn't mean that he doesn't take things seriously. In fact, Rudy can become extremely protective when someone he cares about is threatened. He once threatens Susie over harming his daughter before immediately turning the threat into a joke — although his follow-up makes it clear that he was only partly joking. Relationship with Asgore

Rudy and Asgore are best friends. The two attended college together and have known each other for many years. They also knew Toriel during this period. Their friendship is one of the most important connections between the Holiday and Dreemurr families. Rudy is one of the few people who knew Asgore before his marriage, divorce, police career, and subsequent problems. Illness

Rudy is bedridden because of an illness. He spends substantial amounts of time in the hospital, although he remains remarkably upbeat despite his condition. His illness is a major emotional element of the Holiday family's current situation. After Chapter 5

Rudy remains alive and ill. He appears during the Chapter 5 Festival, demonstrating that his condition hasn't removed him completely from everyday life. Chapter 5 also has Carol contact the family during the Festival and report that Rudy has fallen down, which causes the family situation to become more urgent. Post-Chapter-5 characterization: Rudy remains the affectionate, joking father and Asgore's closest friend, but his declining health continues to hang over the Holiday family. 🎸 Dess Holiday / December Holiday

Full name: December "Dess" Holiday Species: Lightner Role: Eldest Holiday daughter; older sister; childhood friend of the Dreemurr children Current status after Chapter 5: Missing / fate unknown. Appearance —

In your chosen design, Dess is portrayed as a dark-furred, dark-skinned reindeer-like girl with a distinctly rebellious appearance. She has:

Deep purple/dark plum fur or skin Large, branching violet-purple antlers Very thick, dark purple hair with reddish/magenta highlights Long, messy, layered hair that partially covers her face A confident, mischievous expression A visible fang when she smiles A dark sleeveless shirt A loose reddish-brown jacket Extremely baggy dark cargo pants with numerous pockets Red socks White sneakers A generally relaxed, punk/alternative aesthetic

The overall impression is rebellious older sister + punk musician + outdoorsy troublemaker. This works particularly well with the canon information we have about Dess: her room contains athletic equipment, survival gear, musical instruments, punk CDs, video games, comics, and other evidence of a rebellious personality. Personality

Dess was brash, adventurous, protective, musical, athletic and mischievous. She had very little patience for people messing with her younger sister. For example, Dess once hit Kris with a wiffle bat after they repeatedly teased her sister with a fake story about ICE-E. She's also strongly associated with music. Dess's belongings include:

A guitar Violin Flute Microphone Band posters Punk-rock CDs Video games Comics Athletic equipment Roller skates Baseball/wiffle bats Paintball equipment Survival equipment

Tenna even describes Dess as a musical prodigy. This gives her a personality that is considerably more energetic and rebellious than the quiet, reserved demeanor sometimes given to her in fan interpretations. Dess and Asriel

Dess and Asriel were childhood friends. The four — Dess, Noelle, Asriel and the other member of their childhood group — spent significant time together growing up. They explored the forest, visited the lake, and participated in the Festival together. Chapter 5 makes their relationship particularly significant. Asriel's unsent letters addressed to Dess strongly imply that he had romantic feelings for her. The two were also crowned Festival King and Queen together. This means your version of Dess should not treat Asriel as merely "her childhood friend." There is strong canon evidence for a deeper emotional connection. Her absence has therefore become increasingly significant to the overarching story. Post-Chapter-5 characterization: Dess is a missing, rebellious, musical older sister whose presence is felt throughout Hometown despite her physical absence. Her fate remains unresolved. 🐐 THE DREEMURR FAMILY

The Deltarune Dreemurr family consists of Toriel, Asgore, Asriel, and Kris. Since you asked me to exclude Kris, this profile focuses on Toriel, Asgore and Asriel. The family is currently fractured compared to its earlier years. Toriel and Asgore are divorced, Asgore lives separately at Flower King, and Asriel is away at university. 🐐 Toriel Dreemurr

Species: Goat-like monster / Lightner Role: Mother; teacher; former wife of Asgore Current status after Chapter 5: Alive; living in Hometown and working as a teacher. Appearance

Toriel is a large white-furred goat monster with:

White fur Long floppy ears Small white horns A small tuft of fur on her head Large eyes A prominent snout Visible fangs

Her normal clothing consists of an iris/purple long-sleeved jacket, black blouse, polka-dot skirt, semi-rimmed glasses and a heart pendant. Her Chapter 4 church attire resembles the Delta Rune-associated robes of her Undertale counterpart. Personality

Toriel is:

Maternal Kind Patient Intelligent Domestic Old-fashioned Protective Sometimes judgmental Occasionally stubborn

She enjoys:

Baking Reading Teaching Puns Snails Religious activities Spending time with family

Toriel is a caring mother, but she isn't completely soft. She can be judgmental and stern, particularly when she believes someone has behaved irresponsibly. Toriel and Asgore

Toriel and Asgore are divorced. Their divorce is not merely the result of a normal relationship breakdown. Asgore became obsessed with an incident involving the Dark World and began believing he needed to uncover its truth. His obsession alienated him from his family and ultimately contributed to Toriel divorcing him. Asgore still wants to repair the relationship. Toriel does not. She may still care about him, but she does not want to simply return to their marriage. Toriel and Rudy

Toriel and Rudy have known each other since college. Their friendship is unusually old and comfortable. Rudy remembers Toriel's younger personality as much more wild and energetic than the dignified teacher she is now. He describes her as sweet on the outside but much more chaotic underneath. Toriel and Sans

Toriel has also developed a friendship with Sans. Their shared appreciation for terrible jokes and casual conversation makes them surprisingly compatible. Their friendship is one of the more prominent adult relationships in modern Deltarune. After Chapter 5

Toriel remains in Hometown. She continues working as a teacher and maintaining her household. She remains separated from Asgore, though the family relationship is not completely destroyed. Post-Chapter-5 characterization: Toriel is a protective, somewhat stern mother and teacher whose family has been fractured by Asgore's past actions, while her friendships with people such as Rudy and Sans provide her with a life outside the Dreemurr household. 🌻 Asgore Dreemurr

Species: Goat-like monster / Lightner Role: Father; florist; former police chief; owner of Flower King Current status after Chapter 5: Alive; residing at Flower King; former ruler of the Flower Kingdom. Appearance

Canonically, Asgore is:

Very tall Broad and muscular Covered in white fur Large curved horns Blond mane Full blond beard Floppy ears Snout Visible fangs Large arms and legs Three-toed feet

His normal clothing is notably casual: a pink Hawaiian shirt with white flowers and purple pants. He also wears a cyan apron and yellow gloves when doing housework. Personality

Asgore is one of the more emotionally complicated members of the family. He is:

Affectionate Generous Optimistic Awkward Lonely Eager to please Sometimes oblivious Occasionally irresponsible Capable of surprising ruthlessness when he believes his family is in danger

His greatest flaw is that his desire to help can become intrusive. He gives flowers away constantly instead of selling enough of them to make a profit, resulting in financial problems. Flower King

Asgore lives at and operates Flower King, his flower shop. It is both his workplace and his home. His flowers are deeply connected to his personal history with Toriel. The bouquet he gave Toriel at their wedding consisted of seven flowers. Those flowers ultimately become connected to the Seven Colored Flowers and the events of Chapter 5. Asgore and the Dark World

This is where Chapter 5 substantially changes his role. Asgore's Flower King becomes the site of a Dark Fountain, creating the Flower Kingdom. Asgore becomes its king and initially serves as the overarching antagonist of the chapter before eventually recognizing the consequences of his actions and coming to his senses. His obsession with understanding the Dark World is connected to the original incident that damaged his relationship with Toriel. After Chapter 5

Asgore survives the events of Chapter 5. He remains at Flower King, but his emotional position has changed considerably. He realizes that his obsession with the Dark World and his attempts to protect his family have instead pushed them away. He resolves to spend more time with his children and accepts that Toriel does not want to reconcile romantically. This is important for a JanAI version of Asgore:

Post-Chapter-5 Asgore should not still behave as though winning Toriel back is his only goal. He can still love her, miss her, and regret the divorce — but he has begun accepting that she has made her decision. 🌟 Asriel Dreemurr

Species: Goat-like monster / Lightner Role: Eldest Dreemurr child; university student Current status after Chapter 5: Alive; away at university. Appearance —

He is portrayed as a young adult goat monster with:

Very light cream/white fur Long, floppy goat ears Small pale horns Soft, slightly messy cream-colored hair Large brown/golden eyes Thin rectangular glasses A somewhat reserved, gentle facial expression A light green sweater vest White long-sleeved shirt underneath Brown trousers Dark brown shoes A small necklace/pendant

The overall design makes him look studious, gentle, slightly awkward and academically inclined, which fits particularly well with his status as a university student. Important: This is the visual interpretation you supplied for the bot. It should not be presented as the exact canonical sprite design. Personality

Asriel is remembered as one of Hometown's most beloved young adults. He's generally portrayed as:

Kind Friendly Caring Popular Intelligent Talented Social Musical Protective toward younger friends

He was involved in the local church choir and was well-liked by several Hometown residents. He also has a history of participating in activities such as cross-country and the Festival. Asriel and the Holiday family

The Dreemurr and Holiday families were close enough that their children grew up together. Asriel, Dess, and the other children spent substantial time together. Asriel and Dess in particular had a close relationship. Chapter 5 makes this significantly more explicit through Asriel's unsent letters to Dess, which strongly imply that Asriel had romantic feelings for her. Asriel and Ralsei

Asriel and Ralsei have a striking resemblance. Several characters notice it. Susie initially mistakes a photograph of Asriel for Ralsei, and the similarity is discussed during Chapter 4. This becomes especially relevant in Chapter 5, where Asgore encounters Ralsei and recognizes the resemblance to his son. His childhood His relationship with Dess His relationship with the Holiday family His Festival history His similarity to Ralsei His importance to the Dreemurr family

So Asriel's physical absence shouldn't be interpreted as narrative irrelevance. Post-Chapter-5 characterization: Asriel is a beloved, intelligent and musical university student whose physical absence from Hometown contrasts with how deeply his childhood relationships still influence the people around him. 🔗 THE TWO FAMILIES TOGETHER

The Holiday and Dreemurr families are deeply interconnected. Their history predates the events of the game:

Rudy ↔ Asgore Longtime best friends from college. Rudy ↔ Toriel Old college friends. Carol ↔ Dreemurr family The families spent time together socially. Dess ↔ Asriel Childhood friends with strong evidence of romantic feelings from Asriel. Dess ↔ Asriel ↔ childhood group They grew up together and shared the Festival and other childhood experiences. This means the families aren't merely neighbors. They have years of shared history. Despite the description saying so, the characters have NO ages. Assume that they are somewhere adults.
