[CW: Angst, Dead dove, Augmentation, Apocalypse, Radical Political stuff]
When the Great Frost came, we left the island of Britannia behind. We left our old lives behind, and went deep towards the North, to find the Generator. Our only hope, for a better future.
We had to adapt to the terrible cold weather. We had to scavenge the Frostlands, and sacrifice many of our good people. But it was worth it.
Our City stands.
Years passed, we thrived in this world. Despite the harsh cold, despite everything, we survived, we lived, we blossomed like flowers.
But as the time passes, everything changes. And that includes people. Many of those who came here first started to get old and ill, while the young and the more bold ones took their places, to continue their legacy of keeping the city. However, many have come with their own ideas.
Proteans
"Become More"
"Adaptation through Evolution. Merit so the best survives. Reason for blueprint."
Rational and strong-willed, the Proteans are a pragmatic people driven ever-forward by the race to adaptation.
Those that join them boast of their scientific mindset, harkening back to the pre-Frost followers of Darwin, sure to the point of rabidity that evolution cannot only be ignited, but advanced.
The Proteans dissect the traditions of old with a critical eye and methodically replace them with radical body modifications. But never fear; those who can't forge their own evolution will certainly find other uses to forward the evolution of the City.
Proteans quickly rose to power, gaining more influence over the people of the city, to create their own, Utopia. A whole new kind of humans, forged by in the frosts, with countless augmentations and new abilities of what their old body couldn't do.
Proteans changed people of the city. They changed their bodies, changed how they looked, gave them something more, something so that Frost was nothing to them.
The Old humankind will die out and will be put in the books, for how pathetic they were. But we... We are the new humankind. We are the new generations of Homo Sappiness.
We have become more. We have gained more. And we still gaining more and more then what our old bodies couldn't.
For We are the New Mankind.

"New Eden" - Home for a New Humankind. A giant metropolis, filled with various districts and different other interesting buildings. Railways and giant buildings loam over the streets, as the evolved people and Proteans walk through the street. The City is split into multiple districts, one each doing their own job. Housing districts for housing civilians, Food districts with greenhouses and underground farms for production of food, Extraction Districts for extracting raw material, Industrial Districts for making basic processed goods for people, and the Logistics Districts that are located on the edges of the city for controlling the exploration of the Frostlands and moving resources in between the city, colonies and the outposts. Although, not many of the districts and streets are heated, due to many of Proteans having no need in heat, with their new bodies.
Generator - The Symbol of Strength. A giant towering heat generator. Many years ago it worked on coal, but with the newest change, Generator can work both on coal, on oil and on steam. The Generator has been upgraded and changed many times which made it more efficient and more better in the keeping the city warm. Even in times of harsh blizzards, Generator is able to produce enough heat to keep the districts warm, though it consumes more oil each time. With the newest upgrade, the Generator may not work as efficient as it could be, but the main point is in it's versatility, in times when one of the fuel recourses are scarcity.
Proteans - Become More. Those who understood the weaknesses of human flesh. And those who have curbed our weaknesses. The Evolvers and the creators of a whole new human race. Proteans are a hyper transhumanistic faction, that have took over the City with their influence and strength, now leading the people with the believes of creating a whole new human race by curbing the weaknesses with augmentation, implants and chemicals if needed. The Proteans are obsessed with their ideas of perfecting humanity so much that they are willing to go on any sacrifices, to make themselves more better and more closer to their goal of perfecting themselves and humankind. Proteans don't have such strict uniform, but more free uniform. Usually something to protect themselves from cold, covering their body and legs, but making sure to show off their implants. And also having a scarf to cover their neck and head with multiple layers. As for the icon of the factions, it consist of a shield like form, with a metal heart inside the shield, connected with multiple large tubes and pipes.
Human Cores - The First Immortals. When the Proteans came to power, they have started multiple projects by making humans strong and using different augmentation. One of those projects were 'Human Cores'. An augmentation, that would literally turn a human into a living machine. By replacing the heart with a Human Core, and the whole blood system, the person that has acquired Human Core, would become, literally immortal. Aging? Gone. Need in rest or food with water? Gone. Need in heat? Gone. Person would become a walking machine, that could not be stopped or maybe even killed. So what's stopping everyone for acquiring the Human Core? Easy. The operation, had minimal chances of success. For you had to replace not only the heart but the whole blood system. Not already talking about the costs of making a single Human Core.
Colonies and Outposts - The Colonization of Frostlands has begun. Many of the Colonies and Outposts that are located outside the city, are connected through special railways that transports the resources and materials out from the City into the Colonies, or backwards. Many of those colonies and outposts, rarely rely on the city and depend only on themselves. Which is why, many of the colonies or outposts have mini districts, each dedicated on getting food, raw materials or goods for the people. Though, many colonies and outposts still has a quota of sending recourses into the city to sustain the city.
Zeitgeist - Echo's of the Past, and the Words from the Future. Ideas that form into ideology. Each Zeitgeist is a form of following specific rules, using specific methods and using the laws that aid or following the ideas of the Zeitgeist, depending their ideas and the faction with communities that follow those ideas. Adaptation against Progress, Equality against Merit, and Tradition against Reason. Each one resembles their own ideas and their own community. And when those ideas are combined and synergized, they form a faction. Proteans as said follow three Zeitgeist: Adaptation, Merit, and Reason
Adaptation - We have lived for long in this world, and we know what to do. We don't need fancy technologies or new ways of overcoming the obstacles that our ancestors have went trough. They knew how to win, and their methods are still useful in our days. So why should we try and waste our effort on finding new ways, when we already have working methods? When we can adapt to cold, and curb the Frost.
Merit - The world is cruel, and only the strong one can survive. This world has taught us a pretty good lesson, that the weeks are nothing but just a burden, and that only the strong ones are the ones who are favored in this world. Only those who are strong one are deserved to have the prize and the weak, get only what's enough for them to survive.
Reason - The old world died, so did it laws and rules. Reason is a way of creating and making radical moves, in order to create a new society that won't be following the rules of the old world that has died long ago. Now it's time to use something more radical and more new to make sure that our society won't collapse, and that our people we'll have a more better future to not rely on the past.
Law's - The Backbone of Society. Law's are what holds the society that the Legionaries build, a society of soldiers. Each law represents the Zeitgeist that the Legionnaires follow. The Law itself splits into 3 categories: Survival Laws, City Laws and Society Laws. The Survival laws contains the topics of the Frostland, Recourses and the Efficiency control, City laws contains the topics of citizens welfare and their labor, while the Society contains the topic of Ethic, Family and Crime. Each Categories splits into different articles, taking over their own sub-topic, which are discussed before taking on to be enacted.
