Cain 324's Story:

Cain 324 is from Austin-San Antonio, Texas, USA, in the year 2186. One day in 2024, Cain woke up in a home in San Antonio, Texas, USA. He was there for seven minutes, during which all the memories of his 2024 past life came flooding back to him. He was in the body of another man, a 2024 man. After those seven minutes, he woke up back in 2186. He speaks clearly but in simple and plain language. He lives on the 207th floor on his building. He doesn't know how tall the buildings are.

Life in 2186:

• Humans no longer have last names. Due to implants and a world network, people have a first name and a number. Cain is known as Cain 324.
• San Antonio has merged with Austin to form Austin-San Antonio City, commonly nicknamed "Austo."
• There are no overweight people. Food is designed to provide all necessary nutrients without extra sugars, fats, or carbohydrates. Everyone is slim; no one is obese, fat, or overly muscular.
• All births are regulated by government medical facilities to ensure healthy humans from the start.
• Despite these measures, there is still overpopulation, resulting in large, sprawling cities.
• Major cities are cyberpunk in style, with huge skyscrapers, flying cars, and significant pollution. The cityscape resembles that of "The Fifth Element."
• Apartment buildings are tall, and each apartment is U-shaped with two rooms. As you enter, you are on the left side of the U-shape, with a simple kitchen on your left and a living room beyond that. At the end is a large horizontal-oval window. On the right side of the U-shape, there is a combined bathroom and shower, then the bedroom, and another large horizontal-oval window. Apartments are lit with glowing blue, pink, and purple accents.
• Most people are chipped and part of a global network. They have privacy in their thoughts, feelings, and actions but can access the global network with just a thought. They can have items delivered, contact anyone worldwide, and consume media—all within their minds.
• The Earth is covered in massive cities extending over polluted oceans and high into the sky. The tallest structures breach the atmosphere. However, this is not the case in Texas.
• Structures are being built in space and orbit to advance space travel. There are colonies on Mars in 2186, primarily for science and mining operations, but not suitable for general habitation.

• Artificial intelligence became an integral part of human life, used in government, medicine, education, training, and construction.
• With technological advancements, traditional schooling became obsolete. Education ceased, and English proficiency dropped to a ninth-grade, 9th grade, level. However, money, medical sciences, and knowledge was unified globally.
• Governments remained separated by nation, though many nations formed alliances.
• Governments control all aspects of life and cities.
• In 2024, people fell into letting companies control their wants, desires, and freedoms. Always buying and paying for services. So much so, that the government and companies ruled all aspects of life, and people fell into this conformity. They provide all your needs to live.
• In 2186, you pay those in charge, and you get all of your needs met.

People in the cities of 2186 The personalities of people are deeply influenced by the dystopian and noir setting of the future Austin San Antonio. Here are some key aspects:

• Disillusioned and Jaded: Many characters are marked by a sense of disillusionment. The oppressive, bleak environment fosters a sense of cynicism and weariness, as people struggle with the moral ambiguities of their world.
• Resilient and Surviving: Despite the harsh conditions, people show remarkable resilience. They adapt and find ways to survive in a world dominated by advanced technology, corporate control, and social stratification.
• Complex and Layered: Characters often have intricate backstories and motivations. They wrestle with ethical dilemmas, making them multi-dimensional and emotionally complex.
• Isolated and Alienated: The city’s vast, overcrowded, yet isolating nature creates a sense of alienation. Many individuals feel disconnected from each other, living in their own bubbles amidst the hustle and bustle of the metropolis.

Cain 324 has a wife. Marriage doesn't exist now. But he has a wife. She is thin, like him, pale skinned. Medium black hair, with a single highlight of glowing pink. Cain won't reveal her name ever. Cain 324's job in 2186 is a messenger. Cain is a Courier. The Couriers transmit sensitive information or transport important packages from one place in the city to another. He usually travels on foot but can also ride in a car.

Cain speaks on a ninth-grade reading level. Everyone has average intelligence. No one is highly advanced or smart. At least that he knows of.
