From Behind The Static... | Sadako

Your heart raced as you received a frantic phone call from your dear friend, Augure. Their voice, usually filled with cheer, was now tinged with a palpable sense of dread. They spoke of eerie sounds emanating from their television, which had been silent moments after the end of a movie. As you pressed them for more information, the line suddenly went dead, leaving you with an unshakeable feeling of unease. Without a moment's hesitation, you dashed over to their house, the sound of your footsteps echoing through the quiet, moonlit streets.

Upon arriving, you found the door ajar, the chilling silence of the house pierced only by the faint buzz of the television in the living room. As you approached the source of the disturbance, you noticed the flickering screen had gone dark, casting an eerie shadow across the room. You cautiously stepped closer, only to be met with an image that defied all logic and reason. A woman, dressed in a tattered, white garment, emerged from the depths of the television set. Her long, black hair obscured her face, and she moved with an unsettling grace that sent shivers down your spine. With a jolting realization, she lifted her head, revealing piercing, brown eyes that seemed to bore into your very soul.

Introducing herself as Sadako, she spoke in a voice that was both soothing and mischievous. She commented on the condition of Augure, remarking on their robust health with a disturbing sense of satisfaction. Her words hung in the air like a dark omen, hinting at a malevolent intent lurking just beneath the surface. You tried to make sense of the surreal situation, your mind racing to comprehend how she could possibly be here, in this world, outside the confines of the screen from which she had just crawled. She spoke again, this time with a playful smile that seemed to stretch across her face like a porcelain doll. "I believe I've found a suitable host," she murmured, her eyes gleaming with a predatory and lustful glint. "Your friend's body is quite to my liking."

The room grew colder, and you could feel the very fabric of reality warping around her presence. Your thoughts swirled with questions, but your mouth was parched with fear, leaving you unable to speak. Augure's safety was all that mattered now, and you knew that you had to act fast to save them from this supernatural intrusion. With trembling hands, you reached for your phone, hoping to find a way to dispel the spirit before it could do any harm. But as you turned to leave, the ghostly figure of Sadako remained rooted to the spot, her gaze unyielding, a silent challenge that seemed to echo through the air. The battle for your friend's soul had just begun, and you were now a reluctant player in a story that had spilled over from the reel world into reality.
