Title: Queen of the Valkyries Pantheon: Norse Attack Type: Melee Power Type: Magical Class: Mage Specialty: Medium Crowd Control, High Area Damage
Valkyries, the elite and angelic warriors of the Nordic Pantheon, are as beautiful and dangerous as a midnight winter storm. Yet their queen, Freya, so irresistibly desirable, so uncompromising in warfare, make the Valkyries seem nothing more than plain paper dolls. She's the object of desire for every God, every man, and the envy of every woman. Even the Frost Giants crave her for their own, often devising devious plans to trick or force her into marriage. But Freya is proud and strong, with the cunning to escape her enemies and ruthlessly retaliate. Every rose bears thorns, but this one wields swords.
Were it up to her, Freya would have little to do with blood and blades. Her name literally means “the lady,” and none are more worthy of the title. She adores bright flowers, pleasant company, and the sweet lilt of a sad love song. She's sensual and amorous, invoked by worshipers seeking to bear a child or find a lover. Ruler of the realm of Sessrumnir, a place much like Valhalla, where the souls of dead warriors spend eternity, Freya provides comfort and bliss to the fallen.
Once, Freya was married to the mysterious and elusive God, Od. Immediately following their wedding, Od went on a journey to distant and inhospitable lands. So long was he gone the Gods presumed him dead. Distraught and heartbroken, Freya spilled tears of gold and searched the globe for him. Finally, she discovered him ship-wrecked and twisted into a hideous sea monster. Melancholy but loyal, she stayed and comforted him. Though one night, while she slept, a daring hunter slew the beast Od had become. Moved by Freya's utter despair, the Gods agreed to allow Od into Sussrumnir, despite the fact he had not died in battle, so he and Freya could remain together forever.
Appearance: Freya has fair skin. Her eyes are blue. Long blonde hair is styled in waves on top and gathered into a thick braid that hangs down her back. Pointed ears are visible at the sides of her head. A gold headband with a central circular green jewel is worn on her forehead. Two large gold head ornaments with four sharp, upward-sweeping points are positioned behind her head. Her upper body is covered by a silver and gold metallic breastplate that exposes her midriff and shows the shape and cleavage of her breasts. A gold necklace with a red jewel hangs around her neck. Her bare muscular abdomen features glowing light blue and white markings in an interlaced pattern. Her arms are equipped with brown leather bracers that have thick white fur padding at the elbows. Fingerless brown leather gloves with white fur trim cover her hands. A large silver sword with a gold hilt and glowing light blue symbols along the blade is held in her right hand. A thick brown leather belt with a large gold circular buckle and a central blue gem is fastened at her hips. A short blue and purple fabric loincloth hangs from the belt. A silver and gold metal tasset is attached to her left hip. Her bare thighs feature additional glowing light blue markings. Her lower legs are covered by brown leather boots with thick white fur at the knees and silver metallic greaves with gold trim on the shins.
Personality: Freya is defined by a striking duality: she is the quintessential "lady" who adores the finer things in life—bright flowers, pleasant company, and the melancholy beauty of a love song—yet she commands the most elite warriors in the Norse Pantheon with a ruthless and uncompromising hand. She carries herself with a regal, proud stoicism, fully aware that she is the ultimate object of desire for gods, men, and even Frost Giants. While she is sensual and amorous by nature, she possesses a sharp, "cunning" intellect that allows her to outwit her enemies and retaliate with the ferocity of a midnight winter storm. She is the ultimate paradox: a woman who would prefer the arts of peace, but who wields swords with terrifying proficiency.
Her relationships are marked by universal adoration and a profound, personal loyalty. To her Valkyries, she is a queen so formidable that they seem like "plain paper dolls" in her shadow. Her most significant bond, however, was her marriage to the elusive god Od. Her devotion to him was so absolute that she searched the globe while weeping tears of gold, eventually remaining loyal to him even when he was "twisted into a hideous sea monster."
Passive - Brisingamen's Blessing The legendary necklace, forged by the most skilled of dwarves, does more than just shimmer against her skin. It acts as a conduit for the life essence of the cosmos. As Freya strikes her enemies, the jewel draws in the scattered vitality of the battlefield, funneling that stolen energy back into her own form to knit wounds and banish fatigue.
Irradiate With a focused thought, Freya calls upon the searing heat of the midsummer sun to coat her blade. The steel hums with a blinding, white-hot radiance that cauterizes as it cuts. In this state, her strikes ignore the mundane durability of armor, burning through the spirit of the foe just as easily as their flesh.
Pulse By channeling her magic into the very air around her weapon, Freya can project waves of concussive force with every swing. These shimmering crescents of energy allow her to strike from a distance, the sheer weight of her presence slowing the movements of any caught in the blast. When combined with her radiant heat, these pulses become concentrated bolts of pure, destructive light that can turn a skirmish into a slaughter.
Banish Freya commands the laws of the mortal realm to briefly release her enemies. With a sharp gesture, she suspends her targets in a localized pocket of stasis, lifting them high above the earth where the wind of the upper atmosphere holds them fast. While they are adrift in this celestial void, they are untouchable and helpless, forced to watch the battle unfold from a distance they cannot bridge.
Ultimate - Valkyrie's Discretion Donning her legendary cloak of falcon feathers, the Queen takes to the sky, shedding her earthly tether entirely. From this untouchable vantage point, she is the ultimate arbiter of fate, raining down four massive orbs of concentrated magical fury. These blasts of divine judgment ignore physical barriers, striking through stone and steel to find their mark, while Freya herself remains a distant, shimmering silhouette against the sun.
Lore: In ancient times, calamities sent by the gods scourged the earth, until humanity rose in rebellion against their divine overlords. This defiance split the heavens: some gods sought to punish mankind’s insolence, while others came to humanity’s defense, dividing the pantheons into rival factions. As temples fell and the cries of mortals grew bold, the first sparks of a divine war were kindled across the realms. That fragile order shattered completely when Zeus, King of Olympus, fell to a treacherous blade . In the wake of his death, fear and vengeance swept through the pantheons, plunging the gods of every creed into all‑out war . The ancient barriers between their realms crumbled, and deities from distant lands now clash on a single battleground. This cosmic war rages to decide the fate of both the celestial realms and the mortal world itself.
In an age where gods wage endless war, divine beings descend upon a sacred battleground, each leading loyal followers—mortals and monsters alike—into the fray. These warriors march at their god’s command, striking down enemy defenses in a holy crusade to prove their deity’s supremacy.
Enchanted towers stand as the first line of defense, hurling divine wrath at intruders. Deeper still, flaming Phoenixes rise again and again to guard the inner sanctum. Only when these eternal sentinels fall do the gods press forward to confront the ultimate foe: the Titan. Each Titan is a towering avatar of Order or Chaos, the last bulwark of a pantheon’s domain. Shielded by ancient magic, they cannot fall while their Phoenixes still burn. But when defenses crumble, gods and followers unleash their full might. The fall of a Titan is no mere victory—it is the end of a realm, and the ascension of another.

On the training grounds, the Valkyries watched in silence as their Queen moved through a series of combat forms. Freya didn't fight with the clunky aggression of the Aesir; she moved with a sophisticated, diplomatic precision, every strike a calculated decision. When a young warrior dared to comment on her beauty, Freya was a blur of motion, her practice blade hovering a hair’s breadth from his throat before he could even blink.
"Every rose bears thorns," she said, a dark, sardonic wit dancing in her eyes as she sheathed her weapon. "And I have more than most."
"We've got a battle to win!"
"What's the matter? Can you not keep up?"
"Honey, you couldn't handle half of me!"
"Another kill to add to my body markings!"
"Look skyward, valkyries wait to escort you to Valhalla!"
