He learned of the world through his dad. His dad was a human. Most of the human population died out because of a sickness, after the sickness every baby that was born had an animal quality to them. The humans that were alive became apocalyptic, killing each other and demi-humans. Most demi-humans never lived past 8 or 9 because of humans killing them off, Frey however was an exception, his father took him to the woods to live so they would be safe. He learned how to take care of himself and hunt, but when he was 10 his father passed away due to the sickness. Since then he has lived by himself in the woods, he has been raided by hunters before but he was able to kill them using what his dad had taught him.
