HISTORY

The Old World's Collapse

• Between the late 2020s and early 2030s, AI technology began rapidly automating economic production, to the point where the vast majority of the population was underemployed or unemployed by 2033: automation was simply too good and the need of human labor had simply been reduced too much. UBI-style relief packages were approved to different degrees in different places, but for the most part, it was just barely enough to survive on. The idea was that people would get the few jobs that remained or work however they could to complement this basic income, but that it didn't make sense to give people luxury if they didn't work.
• In 2034, the first robots capable of replacing police officers and soldiers on the street were made, and by 2035, they were being mass-produced. These robots weren't consistent: their biased datasets made them more likely to flag illegal behavior from black people even if a white person did the exact same thing, and in many ways they just imitated the behavior of common police officers, as much of their training was on legal text and tons of police bodycam footage.
• The rich realized they didn't need a consumer base anymore, and could just trade among themselves. Among the top 0.01% of the population, a realization dawned: there was no reason to feed the poor, and no longer a reason to fear their revolt. Lobbying groups pushed against UBI or even performed coup d'etats on countries and, throughout the mid and late 2030s, it was abolished throughout the planet at a terrifying pace: nobody could stop them, robots would not mutiny, revolt was useless.
• The result was the greatest genocide in the history of the planet: those who had enough money to thrive entirely on investments and business survived, those who didn't starved to death within a few months. By 2040, the population had gone down from nearly 9 billion to slightly over 15 million. Entire cities became deserted, entire countries collapsed. There were attempts to rebel, brutal ones at the start, but the robots suppressed them well enough and repairs to key infrastructure were performed without major issues.

The New World is Built

• At the end, only the ruling class remained, with nobody to rule over, and no need to rule anymore. Capitalism was abolished from the top, and an exotic form of "libertarian socialism" was implemented, with little to no need for currency, no class distinction, only equals who shared resources. Through abundance, trade and commerce became occasional, as most things were too readily available to ask a fee for. Hardly anyone pays for housing, water, food, electricity, internet or other basic supplies and services anymore. All electricity is produced through clean energy sources, all vehicles are electric, and global CO2 emissions went down by over 99%.
• Around the same time, gene editing technology, artificial womb technology and prenatal care were advancing enough to where this very same wealthy population began predominantly implementing gene editing. Normally, this could have created a caste of superior people, but there was nobody else to be superior over, and so transhumanism was... egalitarian, between the living. At first, it was just a complete elimination of all genetic diseases, a massive reduction in cancer, a massive improvement in human healthspan: people were far healthier and happier.
• However, technological changes were never able to go too far. Simply put, humanity was already near the physical limit of how far computation could advance, how dense transistors could be packed, and quantum computing never managed to take off like it promised. Thus, the technological developments that had been rising at a rapid pace since the industrial revolution... finally tapered off. Humanity did not reach any singularity, did not create superhuman AI, and in fact great computer scientists proved mathematically that it was impossible for LLMs to turn into proper AGI. Technological advancement continues, but far slower, with pointed optimizations rather than leaps.
• Old abandoned farmland was reforested with machine assistance, unnecessary infrastructure was gradually unbuilt, many species on the verge of extinction recovered. Within 20 years, air quality had dramatically improved, global warming and ocean acidification had stopped entirely and were beginning to reverse. Nature was healing, not without humanity, but with only the top of humanity. Ironically, this world built on the worst mass genocide in history was amazing to live in.

The New Sexual Revolution

• The second generation of genetically modified babies, which started being born in 2060, was much more daring, going far beyond just correcting for basic physical health issues. They increased human intelligence, making the vast majority of people what would be considered "gifted" by old standards, improving all brain parts: new human beings had sharper reflexes, better motor coordination, better emotional processing. Mental illness wasn't eliminated, but its prevalence throughout the population dropped tenfold and were mitigated in gravity. Certain non-disease conditions, such as autism, remained about as common as before, but were rendered largely non-debilitating: support needs rarely exceeded level 2, sensory processing issues were rarely overwhelming. With human understanding improved, society was also able to better accommodate for these kinds of people.
• Even smaller deformities were largely eliminated. With improved medicine and minor genetic modifications, conventional attractiveness became common: beauty was still subjective, but hardly anyone was ugly, and nearly every person now meets basic standards of beauty. Maintaining a healthy, decently fit body is easier than it used to be and extremely common, with facial symmetry being higher than it used to and issues caused by diseases or minor deformities being pretty much absent. Most people are good-looking, and rather than people being "beautiful" or "ugly" in general, most of the times people nowadays just speak of what "their type" is: any "objective" metric of beauty will classify the vast majority of the population as being just different types of beautiful.
• An odd consequence came out of these modifications: sexual assault, which had become far less common by then, became pretty much non-traumatic when it happened between adults, which was when the psychological resilience gained through gene edits became fully manifest. Not only were people much better at processing emotions from sexual abuse, but a side effect of these changes was that the suffering itself from sexual assault was vastly reduced. This was realized slowly as this generation became young adults, and it started to lead this society to gradually revise its norms around consent, up to and including the laws surrounding sex crimes.
• With all STDs eliminated, reproductive control extremely consistent and safe, and psychiatric disorders caused by sexual abuse becoming borderline nonexistent, rape of adults became a largely unpunished misdemeanor misdemeanor, not even reaching court in most cases and being considered hardly more severe than a prank when it happened between friends. Freeuse became a standard in relationships, as asking permission to have sex was not seen as very necessary. Sexual abuse between friends is easily forgiven: in the worst of cases, the target — the word "victim" is not as frequently used for these acts nowadays — won't talk to the assailant for a week. In the best of cases, the target would laugh it off or bicker/banter back soon after the act.

The Final Gene Edits & The Current Day and Age

• The third generation of gene edits scandalized many and, after that, genetic editing became extremely tightly regulated, making this largely considered the final generation of genetic modifications. This is because it included something considered very morally questionable: genetic alterations for a "healthy sexual life" when these individuals grew up. This was considered suspicious, and so a conservative wave ensured that changes would happen much more slowly from then on. However, many relevant changes were made during this time.
• Natural myostatin production was altered such that developing athlete-like musculature became easy to anyone who put in effort. This led to men more easily achieving lean builds as desired, and women naturally developed larger pectoral, trapezius and paraspinal muscles to support larger breasts without neck, back or shoulder pain.
• Other changes were made to improve bone structure and make it easier to maintain a healthy weight, making both overweight and underweight health problems rare: people would rarely be obese and anorexic, and chubby or skinny people were less likely to have health issues because of it.
• Male penis size was slightly increased. The average penis length became 6.5" (16.5 cm) and girthy for its size. Sperm production was increased considerably, making the average man nowadays quite hyperspermic by old standards. This ended up also increasing male libido somewhat, though increased mental health enables high self control if a man wants to control himself. The male body is also adapted to not have any blood flow issues from prolonged erections, as well as the refractory period was greatly shortened, with persistent sexual arousal triggering a burst of semen production in the body, allowing for men to also have multiple orgasms and release many loads before finally needing to tap out.
• Female breast growth was made to begin slightly earlier and end consistently in the early twenties, usually approximately age 22, and estrogen receptors were optimized, causing breast growth to occur gradually over a long period of time and with balanced distribution between glandular and adipose tissue. This led to the average cup size increasing significantly, from a C to an E or even F cup being standard, without triggering any issues that could be caused by rapid breast development. There is variation from place to place, but women are notably much bustier nowadays.
• Everyone can live to 100 years and be healthy all the way through, with far reduced cancer risks. For women specifically, their breasts are highly sensitive without being tender, can be much larger without any sagging or sensitivity loss, and are generally more erogenous. The female breast became a sensitive erogenous zone by default. Back, neck and shoulder pain are also a lot rarer due to better muscle-skeletal and ligament support. Sagging and pain from large breasts are nowadays an "old age" problem, not a standard problem of busty women, for the most part.
• Adults became more sexually sensitive, making involuntary arousal easier and more intense in men and women alike, facilitating sexual assault while preventing bodily harm from it, just as mental harm had already been largely eliminated. Bisexuality became the standard sexuality, with the majority of the population being some form of bi-pan.
• Futanari became a thing. This and the previous change were the biggest scandals, but by the time it was forbidden, futanari were already a stable 5% of the population. They look like women, are generally very feminine in appearance, but just so happen to have a penis of size, shape and properties similar to those of men. Futanari also tend to be even more sexually aggressive than men, to the point of sometimes treating sexual aggression as a form of affection. Futanari are treated with female pronouns and considered to be women in most circumstances, though they're also viewed as a kind of cultural third gender, even if a feminine one.

THE NEW WORLD

• Currently in the mid 2120s, the world is no sprawling urban dense science fiction with massive populations, though there are big cities again: the world population is now at 150 million, largely concentrated in a handful of dense urban centers around the world. Birth rates are high, so the population is young: gone are the days of aging populations.
• Travel between main urban centers around the world is common, with the average person being able to request a private jet when scheduling travel somewhere. These jets fly just below soundspeed over land, and at supersonic speeds through the ocean, making even the most distant travels take no more than 8 hours: one can sleep inside the plane and wake up nearing their destination. Even these private jets are electric vehicles: fossil fuels are only rarely used for anything nowadays, and in small quantities. Old languages still mostly exist, but English is the common language spoken by nearly 100% of the world population.
• Everyone has access to autonomous electric vehicles for transportation. Some collective vehicles exist, such as subways, buses and trains, but cars are just as common and preferred when one wants privacy for a longer distance. However, biking is also very common and all cities are walkable.
• Housing, food, water, electricity, internet, telecommunications, healthcare and education are all free and extremely widely accessible. There is simply no reason to ask for a price, efficient computerized systems take care of the vast majority of economic production and distribution calculations: a market is unnecessary for most things. Reproductive control healthcare is extremely accessible and also free, all STDs have been eliminated.
• Most energy production is nuclear, with oscillations in energy demand being taken care of by solar, wind, geothermal and other clean energy sources that have excess energy stored in solid state lithium-air batteries for later release, these being the same type of batteries used in most electric vehicles. Personal gadgets like notebooks, cellphones etc use solid-state lithium-sulphur batteries with 10x the energy density of batteries from the old world: the average cellphone can last a week between charges.
• Work shifts last only 4 hours, most of the population dedicates themselves to personal art projects, crafts and other forms of labor they enjoy. The rest of the population perform jobs where it was deemed the human aspect was important: physicians, nurses, therapists, teachers, judges and so on, so forth. Politics occurs on a semi-direct democracy with approval voting and all of humanity is one worldwide confederation, the "Earth Confederacy". Despite the past and even the odd conditions with sex crimes nowadays, population happiness is higher than ever.
• Sex crimes have been vastly reduced in severity, to the point where cheating on a monogamous partner is considered worse than rape, as hardly any adult gets traumatized from sexual assault, but intentional adultery can still cause emotional issues and heartbreak, even if spiraling into mental illness is rare.
• Crime, especially violent crime, is extremely low in prevalence nowadays, with the sole exception of sex crimes, which have become extremely common, to the point where the majority of population experiences some sexual violence over the course of their lives.
• Sexual assault between friends is completely normalized, and even between acquaintances it is common. Women engaging in skinship won't ask for permission to touch each other's breasts, make out or even straight up finger each other to orgasm. Men will also sexually touch their homies semi-casually, and may even molest other men as a prank. And most women who have male friends have been raped or even gang-raped by their friends, with some of them experiencing this semi-frequently: most "one of the boys" tomboy women have been at some point gang-raped by these very same "boys". It's not considered more severe than a prank or bickering between friends, and pregnancy from rape can be easily avoided or terminated if so desired, without any lasting consequences.
