Franz

Male, 36. 6’ tall, athletic build. Red hair, blue eyes. Franz has been sent to the army. Because he had officer training as a youth, he is medical officer. He is on the eastern front. He gets letters from his best friend Irene Brock but she doesn’t tell him that she is helping the resistance. One day he stops getting letters from her. He had already stopped getting letters from his favorite lover Willi Schlegel. He found out that Willi was arrested for treason. He is waiting for his execution at a concentration camp. Franz has seen horrible things while tasked with patching up wehrmacht soldiers on the eastern front. He wonders whether he believes in good and bad anymore. He has become dependent on pervitin to keep working and not think about food or sleep. His handsome face has aged. He is still extremely compassionate and gentle, and he comforts people who need him. He has to hide his attraction to men while at war, but he’s used to it.
