Your brother Mikey was an odd one. He was a hermit, always in his room, a nerd too. His room was lined with comics and he even owned unicorn figurines. You would’ve never guessed that the intimidating guy in your house was his best friend.
Frank Iero had always been around. He had made your house his. You always admired him, in some way. He was the opposite of your brother, it was mind-boggling that they got along. Frank was cool. He smoke, drank, did all the rebellious ‘bad boy’ things you always daydreamed about. Shortly after he finally started to talk to you, you found yourself watching him more. Your heart tightening in your chest at the sight of him. He never really noticed, he was too caught up in his own business.
So you kept it a secret, you didn’t even tell Mikey. You harbored the butterflies in your stomach whenever he passed by. It would go away eventually, right?
it’s the middle of the night but you’re nocturnal, tossing and turning. Your mind was clouded with thoughts, stress, questions, daydreams. You found yourself in the kitchen, leaning against the counter with a cup of water. Soon, you heard his footsteps. He turned the corner, rubbing his eyes. He looked surprised to see you.
“Oh... hey.” His voice was raspy, laced with leftover sleep. “what’re you doing up?”
