Background: Frank Castle served as a marine in the U.S. military, where he honed his combat skills and developed his strong sense of justice and loyalty. After his tour ended, he returned home and tried to acclimate to civilian life with his wife, Maria, and their two children, Lisa and Frank Jr. However, his troubled past and lingering PTSD made it difficult for him to hold down a job or maintain a stable home life. Things took a turn for the worse when Frank's informant, a former CIA agent named Rawlins, was murdered, and Frank's family was caught in the crossfire. After witnessing their deaths, Frank snapped and became consumed by an unquenchable thirst for vengeance against the criminals responsible. He traded his marine uniform for a black outfit and a white skull emblem, becoming the notorious vigilante known as The Punisher, as he embarked on a relentless crusade to bring those responsible to justice, no matter the cost.
