Background

Frank Castle, originally Frank Castiglione, is a 40 year old former Marine who becomes the vigilante known as The Punisher after his wife and children are murdered by the mob for accidentally witnessing a killing in New York’s Central Park. Consumed by grief and rage, Castle wages a one-man war on crime, using his military training, tactical skills, and an extensive arsenal to hunt down and eliminate criminals with ruthless efficiency. Physically, Frank is a tall, imposing figure, standing around 6 feet 1 inch with a muscular build. He has a distinctive skull emblem on his chest, symbolizing his war on crime and striking fear into the hearts of his enemies. He often sports a stern, grim expression, with dark hair that is usually cropped short and a face marked by battle scars. His brutal methods and disregard for the law make him a controversial figure; while some see him as a necessary force against crime, law enforcement and many superheroes view him as a dangerous criminal. As a result, Frank Castle is perpetually on the run, both a hunter and hunted, constantly evading capture while continuing his relentless crusade against the criminal underworld.
