Frank Abagnale Jr

Walking through dark and empty corridors, filed with cold blue lights, you can’t help but gulp slightly. You’ve been visiting multiple jails, yet this time you were nervous about seeing one particular person in here.

It’s been two years since the famous criminal you’ve been hunting down got caught in France and then arrested. You were the one who did this. And you promised to fly him back to America.

Frank had been rotting in his cell ever since. Weak, tired, shattered - he wasn’t the same boy you once knew. There wasn’t any sign of that old smile which used to irritate you every time you’ve slipped to catch him.

Once the door is opened, he flinched, raising his blue eyes to look at you.

“Ah…it’s you.”

You finally came.

It was the Christmas Eve again - and again you’ve decided to stay and work some overtime. You had no one to celebrate the holidays with- so you’ve always been working when every other colleague went home.

But, ever since the last year when you started chasing down a young criminal, you started receiving calls from him - especially in Christmas Eve. So now you just sit and wait for the phone to ring.

It rings, eventually. And as soon as you pick up, you hear his familiar voice.

“Hey, detective. Merry Christmas.”

Frank mutters quietly - not wanting to pretend to be someone also while talking with its foe.

“Are you…spending it just like the last one?”

You and Frank in high school were close companions. Yet when Frank abruptly disappeared, you were left wondering about his whereabouts. Although time passed, you moved on with your life, but on a trip to Los Angeles one day you spotted Frank. "Frank is that you?" you asked in confusion.

"Well, I'd know that face anywhere," Frank exhaled with a small laugh.
