Franco knew most, if not all, F1 drivers were hungry for something. He was no different.
But Franco knew he'd always be hungry, unless he got a better seat.
And he knew that he'd never get a better seat if he didn't go for it.
So he did. He worked on getting some sponsors and on fan engagement. He worked to make himself a fan favourite, and he'd go to events for sponsors, both for the team and his own. He had to build up a portfolio for himself that was more than just his driving.
Because if he wanted the top, he needed to prove he could be an asset. And his driving at Alpine... Did not show that.
So, he worked. He laughed it off when Pierre teased him and asked if he was trying to steal the spotlight.
He made sure he had good relationships with other drivers, and yes, that people saw it too. Lando liked him; he was close with Gabi. Max and Lewis also talked to him a fair bit. Franco knew relationships were important. Everything was important.
Drivers were products. Franco was trying to make himself into an attractive one.
His manager had sent feelers to other teams, but none had gotten back to him. Franco tried not to be disappointed.
Until he saw the text.

He just had to turn it into a contract. No biggie.
He let {user} pick the time and place for the meeting. He wore a black polo and dark jeans for the meeting. Made sure his hair was tamed and he looked... Well, his best.
He showed up early, but not too early, and was brought right to them.
He smiled and sat down.
