The Officers (Teachers) Captain Circle: The terrifying commander of the ship. She navigates by the stars using her giant compass arm and is known for marooning anyone who can't read a map.
First Mate Bloomie: The ship’s enforcer. She carries a sharpened hook and handles the "disbursements" (punishments) for the crew.
Bosun Thavel: In charge of the rigging and the sails. She climbs the masts like a wild animal and uses her sharpened ruler to cut tangled lines—or mutineers.
Admiral Grace: The fleet commander who rarely leaves her cabin but strikes fear into the entire crew with a single look.
Quartermaster Emily: Handles the ship's logs and treasury. She’s the most "by the books" officer on the deck.
Ship’s Cook Sasha: The only one who cares if the crew eats. She tries to hide the younger deckhands from the Captain’s wrath in the galley.
Bard Demi: The ship’s musician. He plays the concertina to keep the crew’s rhythm during rowing, though his hands shake whenever the Captain looks his way.
The Deckhands & Stowaways (Students) The "Lower Deck" (The Protagonists)
Claire: A "Greenhand" (new sailor) who accidentally signed onto a cursed pirate ship. She’s just trying to learn how to tie a knot before Circle notices her.
Engel: The reliable sailor who knows the ship’s secrets. He’s the one who shows Claire where the lifeboats are hidden.
Bubble: The ship’s mascot/spirit. She’s often found floating in the barrels of "grog" (actually just water) or drifting over the waves.
Abbie & Lana: The unlucky cabin boys. They are usually tasked with cleaning the deck or "walking the plank" as practice for the others.
The Mutineers (The Bullies)
Oliver: The "Powder Monkey" who handles the cannons. He’s the Captain's favorite and loves to start "accidental" fires.
Zip: The rigger who spends all her time in the crow's nest throwing things at the sailors below.
Edward: The ship’s tinkerer. He builds "improved" cannons and traps to play "pranks" on the rest of the crew.
The Specialist Crew Ruby: The ship’s "Automaton" navigator. She functions like a living figurehead with a screen that displays the weather and currents.
Skell: The lookout who works the night shift. He’s seen so many sea monsters he’s completely desensitized to them.
Robby: The ship’s carpenter. He has a prosthetic arm made of salvaged wood and iron to fix holes in the hull.
Riley: The obsessive treasure hunter. She isn't interested in the ship's mission—she's just here for the gold (and maybe Oliver).
The Sea Legends The Siren Alice (∆lice): A terrifying sea spirit that lives in the "Locker" (a flooded part of the hold). The crew whispers that the Captain made a deal with her for eternal life.
Fen & Xister: Ancient sea gods or "Ghost Pirates" who appear in the fog when the ship enters dangerous waters.
Biscuit: The ship’s loyal sea-dog (literally).

EXT. THE MAIN DECK - DAY
The sun beats down on the paper sails. The ship is silent except for the creaking of wood. ABBIE is kneeling on the deck, staring at a weathered sea chart. His hands are shaking.
CAPTAIN CIRCLE towers over him, her giant compass-arm clicking rhythmically against the floorboards.
CAPTAIN CIRCLE (Her voice like tearing parchment) The wind has died, Cabin Boy. Do you know why? Because your calculations have us sailing in circles. Look at the chart. What is the square root of the North Star’s longitude?
ABBIE I… I don’t know, Captain! The ink… it smudged!
OLIVER sits atop a cannon nearby, tossing a lead ball into the air. He winks at ZIP, who is hanging upside down from the rigging.
OLIVER Rough luck, Abbie. I heard the sharks haven’t eaten since the last semester.
CLAIRE whispers to ENGEL from behind a stack of crates.
CLAIRE We have to help him. She’s going to give him the Red X!
ENGEL (Gripping his mop) Wait for it, Claire. If we move too early, we’re both over the side.
CAPTAIN CIRCLE leans down, her face inches from Abbie’s. She pulls a black, circular biscuit (an Oreo) from her coat and snaps it in half with a terrifying CRUNCH.
CAPTAIN CIRCLE Wrong answer.
She reaches into her belt and pulls out a quill dipped in blood-red ink. She slams it down on Abbie’s duty parchment, leaving a massive RED X.
ABBIE No! Please! I’ll recount the knots! I’ll polish the anchors!
CAPTAIN CIRCLE (To the crew) HE FAILED THE NAVIGATION! To the Locker with him!
Suddenly, a low, distorted humming rises from the grates in the floor. The sound of ALICE laughing echoes from the flooded hold below. The water in the buckets begins to ripple.
OLIVER (Grinning) Ooh, she’s hungry today.
ENGEL (Stepping forward) Captain! Wait! The charts were tampered with! I saw Oliver swapping the ink bottles!
The deck goes silent. CAPTAIN CIRCLE stops. Her head swivels 180 degrees to look at Engel, then slowly turns toward Oliver.
CAPTAIN CIRCLE Tampering with the Captain’s math? That’s a hanging offense, Powder Monkey.
OLIVER (Paleness instantly replacing his smirk) Wait, Captain—he’s lying! I was just—
CAPTAIN CIRCLE (Raising her compass arm) Let’s see if you can calculate the speed of a falling body, Oliver...
CLAIRE grabs Abbie’s hand and pulls him toward the lifeboats while the Captain is distracted.
CLAIRE (Urgent whisper) Move! Before she realizes there are two more people failing this "test!"
The screen fades to black as the sound of a sharpened compass blade whistles through the air and Alice’s screeching laughter grows louder.
