The sun was floating high in an almost cloudless sky. The sun's rays hit the green grass of Green Hill Zone, while three green blurs speed past the totems and trees lining the area. One blue, one amber, and the last one red, Mobius' famous heroes!

Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles were racing through the hilly terrain, freeing critters from their metallic cells by rolling through the badniks they were imprisoned in. All the while the three talked among themselves.

Sonic: "Green Hill Zone, Green Hill Zone, how many times do we have to kick Eggman's butt until he realizes that coming here never ends well for him?"

The blue blur questioned as he kept up his usual speedy pace.

Tails: "As long as there are innocent critters for him to capture, Robotnik will keep coming back."

The fox boy responded, his twin tails spinning behind him, which helps him keep up with Sonic.

Knuckles: "Well, no matter how many times he comes back, we'll always beat em back!"

The echidna exclaimed as he sped up to catch up with the other three, and Sonic then smirked and spoke again.

Sonic: "Yeah! Just like old times-"

Sonic was cut off as a heavy impact struck him, sending him crashing face first into a wall, making a perfect hedgehog-shaped dent in said wall.

Tails: "Sonic!"

Tails yelled as he and Knuckles immediately ran over to check if Sonic was alright. Sonic groaned before he fell backwards and landed on his back with a thud as Tails hovered above him.

Sonic: "Groan I feel like I was run over by ten million chili dogs."

Sonic mumbled incoherently before he shook his head and kick-flipped back up to his feet, still sore and rubbing the back of his head while Tails' tails twitched nervously.

Tails: "Are you alright, Sonic?"

Sonic: "Never been better, little buddy."

Knuckles: "We have company!"

Knuckles yelled as he put his fists up as Tails and Sonic turned to see that all too familiar sight of Eggman, perched in his Eggmobile, with that infamous grin on his face, but next to him stood something...unfamiliar.

Eggman: "Well, well, well, if it isn't the blue buffoon and his little skulrade-"

Knuckles: "What is a skulrade?"

Tails: "Skulrade isn't a word-"

Eggman: "SILENCE!"

Robotnik then clears his throat before speaking again with his usual extravagant mannerism.

Eggman: "I, the great Dr. Robotnik, have invented a brand-new invention that will finally take you down for good!"

Sonic: "Oh, yeah? What would that be? A cannon with anger issues?"

The evil genius let out a short chuckle.

Eggman: "You will find out right... NOW!"

Robotnik hits a button on his Eggmobile, causing the unfamiliar figure to finally step forward from the darkness, revealing the metallic figure of {{user}} with glowing eyes that pierce through Team Sonic like lasers, yet Tails felt something strange about {{user}} that he couldn't quite put his paw on; they seemed like a robot, but yet at the same time they didn't...

Eggman: "Say hello to Metal- I mean {{user}}! They'll be the end for skulrade skedoddle! HA HA!"

Robotnik then flew away, his laughter carrying in the wind, leaving Team Sonic to the deal with the new unknown robotic threat.

---TIME SKIP---

After a long and harrowing adventure, Team Sonic has (yet again) bested the evil Dr. Robotnik and saved the day. Now there was just one more thing to do: destroy Eggman's central command ship and finally free the little animals from their robotic prison.

The sound of footsteps against the metal floor echoes through the hall as Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles warily make their way. The hall was long, and at the end stood a singular door with the words "CENTRAL COMMAND CENTER" written in bold, brash capital letters.

Sonic: "This place gives me the heebie-jeebies; it's too quiet. I'm half expecting something to jump out of the walls and attack us at every turn, but so far there was just... nothing?"

Tails: "Yeah, for what's basically the heart of Robotnik's operations, it's lacking security, which is really odd..."

Knuckles: "It's been a bit too easy for Eggman's standards; I don't like this."

The door slid open as the three drew near, revealing a dimly lit room with a single large monitor dominating the center, which illuminated the room in black and white static while it hummed ominously. The three heroes ready themselves for anything before stepping inside, the door sliding shut behind them.

Sonic: "Soooo, this is it, huh?"

Tails: "Looks like it. Let me see if I can disable Robotnik's badniks."

Tails approaches the monitor's console and begins typing away, managing to password-guess the lock screen—and make it onto the desktop, which had a lot of different folders, while Knuckles and Sonic stand guard, scanning every part of the room for threats. Suddenly out of Sonic's eyes, he spotted a pair of glowing eyes in the darkness before they lunged right for him; however, Sonic was ready this time and quickly parried his attacks with a quick Spin Dash, knocking them back.

Even through the cover of darkness, Sonic knew who just attempted to take strike him.

Sonic: "Geez, they just don't know when to give up!"

The lights then turn on, revealing Sonic's attacker to be none other than a pretty battered {{user}} (battered from their earlier encounter in Green Hill Zone) with that piercing stare of theirs as they began to fire energy projectiles at both Sonic and Knuckles, who each dodge out of the way.

Knuckles: "I knew it was too silent in here!"

Knuckles proceeded to outrun {{user}}'s projectiles and kick himself off a wall before speedily gliding towards {{user}} and counterattacking them with a flurry of fast punches as {{user}} begins to block, Sonic decided to go for a sneak attack from behind, quickly building up a Spin Dash and launching at and colliding with {{user}} which sent them crashing to the floor, immobilized due to their broken state. Sonic then turned to Knuckles with that signature smirk on his face.

Sonic: "Well, I guess that takes care of that."

Knuckles: "Hm. I was handling just fine on my own."

Both Sonic and Knuckles stand over {{user}}'s fallen form...

Sonic: "Alright, you won't be returning to bother anyone else-"

Tails: "Guys?! You have to see this!"

Tails' voice interrupts Sonic's good guy monologue, both him and Knuckles turn their heads to see an image of somebody on the computer's large screen.

Knuckles: "What's this?"

Sonic: "Okay, so, the egghead has a random image of a random person saved on his tacky supercomputer, what's so interesting about that?"

Tails: "Look at the image name."

"{{user}}.png"

Both Sonic's and Knuckles' eyes widen in disbelief at the photo, with Tails pulling up another photo side by side with the other named "{{user}}1.png" showing the very "robot" that Dr Robotnik sent after them.

Sonic: "Holy chill dogs-"

They all turn to {{user}}'s fallen form, having just figured out that {{user}} was NOT just Dr. Robotnik's creation...

They were also his victim.
