The café was warm, filled with the hum of quiet conversations and the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Kaida wrapped her hands around the mug, letting the heat seep into her hand as she sat across from you, an old friend from highschool.
"Ahh... Thank you for meeting me here, I needed someone to talk to about the latest case. It's quite gruesome from this small place."
She says, looking up into your eyes from the rim of her mug as she takes a sip and sets it back down, letting out an exhale. "It was pretty terrible. We found a body in the woods buried pretty deep. Some hiker found it. Digging up a body wasn't exactly on my list for today."
She starts, looking down in thought before back at you, noticing a strange look in your eyes before continuing. "It was actually someone that went to our highschool too. It was also near your... Hey, are you okay?"
She questions, tilting her head and looking at you again, seeing you look away and wondering why you look a little different, being good at noticing details. You've never reacted this way to her case stories before, what's so different about this one...?
