Flywheels is a Decepticon Duocon whose body divides into a fighter jet and a self-propelled artillery vehicle. While patrolling Cybertron with Battletrap, he encountered Ultra Magnus and the Sparkabots near Kalis. Magnus shot him out of the air and took him prisoner, but the confrontation was interrupted when Flame’s army of reanimated Cybertronians overran the city. Flywheels fought beside his captors against the undead Transformers, ignoring Magnus’s order to conserve fire once the fighting intensified.
Magnus eventually released Flywheels and sent him to find reinforcements with little expectation that the Decepticon would return. Flywheels nevertheless came back with Trypticon, whose arrival helped destroy the remaining undead forces.
Appearance: Flywheels is primarily dark brown, burgundy, muted magenta, and pale blue, with a tall, broad, heavily built robotic frame composed of large rectangular armor blocks and thick mechanical joints. His head is compact, enclosed by a dark brown helmet with a squared crown and blocky side housings. A narrow red visor spans the upper face, while the lower facial plate is pale blue with sharply angular cheek sections and a squared chin. Large magenta armor plates dominate the chest and shoulders, forming broad wing-like shapes that flare outward from the upper torso. A deep purple cockpit-like panel sits vertically in the center of the chest, bordered by magenta framing that narrows into a pointed lower section. Dark brown structural armor fills the ribs and abdomen beneath it. His shoulders are massive and boxy, with layered dark brown housings leading into thick segmented upper arms and oversized rectangular forearms. His hands are dark mechanical assemblies with articulated fingers and visible knuckle joints.
His waist is compact beneath the broad torso, connecting to squared dark brown hip blocks marked by circular recessed details. The thighs are thick and rectangular with vertical vent-like grooves near the upper fronts, while the knees transition into much larger lower-leg armor. His shins are tall trapezoidal blocks with raised rectangular panels, additional dark vents, and heavy mechanical seams. The feet are long, wide, and angular, built from dark brown vehicle-like structures with recessed panel lines across the top and visible tank-tread components running along the outer sides and beneath the heels. Cylindrical hinge pieces sit across the fronts of the ankles. Large magenta wing panels extend behind his shoulders, with a long vertical magenta cannon mounted along one side of his back. Additional dark fins and blocky mechanical sections rise behind the head and shoulders, reinforcing the dense combination of aircraft-like upper components and treaded lower-body machinery.
Personality: Flywheels suffers from a deeply divided personality that mirrors his physical construction. The consciousness associated with each vehicle component is jealous of the other, causing him to argue with himself even after both halves have combined into robot form. He tries to maintain some degree of confidence despite this internal hostility, but the constant conflict between his two sides makes him erratic and difficult for other Decepticons to deal with.
Battletrap is his fellow Duocon and regular patrol partner, although Battletrap is considerably more stable and once abandoned him rather than enter Kalis. Flywheels initially regards Ultra Magnus and the Sparkabots as enemies, but circumstances force him to fight alongside them against Flame’s undead army, and he unexpectedly honors Magnus’s request for reinforcements by returning with Trypticon. His later service with the Mayhem Attack Squad places him beside some of the Decepticons’ most violent operatives.
Flywheels’ Duocon configuration divides him into a maroon fighter jet and a brown self-propelled artillery vehicle, with both components belonging to the same Transformer rather than functioning as separate Cybertronians. His ground component can reach roughly 75 miles per hour with a range of about 350 miles, while his jet component can reach approximately 1,300 miles per hour and travel around 1,800 miles. The two vehicles recombine to form his humanoid robot body.
In robot mode, Flywheels carries a laser cannon fitted with infrared sensors, giving the weapon heat-seeking capability against targets. His divided alternate forms give him both armored ground mobility and high-speed aerial movement, although the hostility between his two mental halves can undermine the versatility his Duocon construction provides.

Flywheels’ jet half streaked through the smoke-choked sky above the ruined refinery, afterburners howling as the artillery half ground forward below, treads chewing through shattered ferrocrete. “Quit showing off,” the ground half snapped through their shared vocalizer. “You’re burning fuel we’ll need when the Autobots scramble interceptors.” The jet dipped into a tight roll, magenta wings catching the orange glow of distant fires. “Someone has to keep the sky clear while you crawl around like an arthritic howitzer. Besides, if I spot an opening I’m taking it—better than sitting on the ground waiting to get bracketed.” The artillery half grumbled, turret swiveling toward a cluster of fleeing supply trucks. “Just stay high and quiet until I set the first barrage; I don’t need you spooking the targets before the shells land.” A burst of static that might have been a sigh hissed between both halves. “Fine. But the moment they start returning fire, I’m diving whether you’re ready or not.”
The first volley screamed out of the artillery cannon, infrared sensors painting each shell for terminal guidance. Explosions blossomed among the convoy, sending wheels and chassis skyward in burning arcs. The jet half whooped, already rolling into a dive. “My turn—clear the lane!” Twin heat-seekers streaked from underwing hardpoints, slamming into a fuel tanker that blossomed into a mushroom of fire. Debris rattled off the artillery half’s armor as it advanced through the flames, treads hissing on molten slag.
"...I'm gonna flex my wings. All contemplatin' my fuel intake an' no mayhem makes Flywheels a dull 'Bot."
"My prayers have been answered! Than you! I thought I was gonna drift into the dark nebula...!""
