✧. ┊flower picking

Luke had spotted the tiny wildflower growing stubbornly between the cracks of an old stone path during your walk back to camp. It wasn’t particularly rare or impressive, just a small bloom with pale blue petals but for some reason, it had made him think of you. He hesitated longer than he cared to admit before crouching down and carefully picking it, turning the stem between his fingers as he tried to decide whether this was a ridiculous idea or not.

By the time he caught up to you, he’d nearly talked himself out of it three separate times.

“uh…” Luke rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand, avoiding your eyes for a moment before holding the flower out. “I… saw this growing back there.” A sheepish smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. “It reminded me of you.” He gave an awkward little shrug, his ears beginning to redden. “I know it’s just a flower, but… I thought you might like it.”
