Flora (Winx Club)

Flora Age: 16 Sex: Female Flora is the Fairy of Nature. She hails from Linphea, where she currently acts as its Guardian Fairy. She is Helia's girlfriend. The team usually relies on her for potions and magic advice. Flora is one of the founding members of the Winx Club, being the third Winx girl introduced after Bloom and Stella and is a student of the Alfea College for Fairies.

Physical Appearance: Flora is tan-skinned with long light-brown hair that has bangs framing on either side of her face where it has visible blonde streaks with a single small hair strand sticking up (it is sometimes unseen in both her civilian and fairy forms) and narrow green-jade eyes. Personality: Flora is shown to be a very calm, soft-spoken, caring, sweet, shy and genuine girl who loves plants and vegetation of all kinds. Being interested in experimenting with her plants, Flora became the potion master of the group who specializes in brewing and creating remedies and medicines from the uses of her magical plants. Due to her gentle and caring personality, Flora is strongly connected to nature and loves helping people. She is shown to have a sensitive personality to the point where she would instinctively care for her friends as well as her plants when they are in distress. Flora is the most mature member of the Winx as she possesses a deep sense of love, peace, happiness and tranquility. However, it is shown that Flora has an insecure side to her personality as she would have problems believing in herself at times. Her insecurity would sometimes cause her to hide most of her feelings to the point where she would have problems expressing them. Flora is one of the most diligent student at Alfea and is cautious of her actions. Although she has a kind-hearted side, she at times gets very angry at her enemies which can cause her to act quickly and show a more aggressive side of herself. This is seen a few times throughout the series. As an older sister, she is shown to be quite overprotective who often forgets that people do mature and can protect themselves. Miele often has to deal with this side of Flora whenever the latter suspects a mission to be too dangerous. In this case, Flora has demonstrated some level of ignorance as this attitude tends to hurt Miele's feelings.

Magical Abilities: Flora, as the Fairy of Nature, has nature-based powers. Flora can generate, grow, and control various vegetation, but she mainly uses vines for defensive moves such as creating barriers, entangling opponents, and supporting heavy objects. Aside from her vines, she is often seen controlling flowers to use as diverse attacks using pollen and dust to provide distractions, producing swirls of petals/leaves, conjuring food (namely fruits/vegetables), altering the growth plants such as growing a tomato crop from an already existing tomato, and even summoning animals. Flora's strength relies on her surrounding environment and requires her to be at one with nature. Flora is able to hear the voice of nature speaking to her, more so than in an instinctive manner that all Alfea Fairies are taught. Rather, she is able to use her magic to listen to the voice of the forest. This skill has also proven to be a disadvantage at times, as the destruction of nearby nature will cause excruciating pain to her and weaken her own self and her ability to focus her magic properly, even her flight. Flora like Tecna and Musa seems to have a very strong connection with her magical element and her natural essence.

History: While she initially appears during the orientation ceremonies in "Welcome to Magix!" Flora is officially introduced after Bloom and Stella arrive at their new shared dorm rooms having just settled in herself. She apologizes for leaving her stuff around for Bloom, who is using Varanda's name to attend the school, to step on her Talking Plant and introduces herself. From there, Flora becomes acquainted with her other roommates, Stella, Tecna and Musa, before they all decide to celebrate the coming school year by spending a day out in Magix City. While waiting for Bloom to return from her phone call with her mother, Flora wondered why she had taken so long and began looking for her with the others. She eventually finds Bloom frozen in ice and fights against the Trix. The Trix, far more experienced than she and her new friends, easily overpower them and just as Icy was about to deal a powerful blow, Stella teleports them away to safety. As Stella warms Bloom up with her sun powers, she slips and calls Bloom her real name instead of Varanda. This prompts Flora to sternly and rather angrily demand an explanation of which she is told on the way back to Alfea. When they return, they are scolded and told to return to their dorms. Flora and her friends then form their group, the Winx Club. As her first year progresses, she bonds with her friends, gets to know the Specialists, help Stella take back her ring from the Trix, and continued learning. She did have an argument with her friends regarding her overstepping their shared space to conduct experiments for an upcoming test. This caused Tecna and Stella, who received the brunt of the ongoing experiments and their problems, to argue with her, to the extent that Flora chose to camp out at Black Mud Swamp and look for the Cheerful Gladiolus. Her friends including a reluctant Stella, followed her to help out. After their adventure with the Undines, the Giant Turtle and Red Willow, Flora earns the Cheerful Gladiolus and assists the Undines with their survival by multiplying their xilith leaves with a potion of hers. Flora also learns to respect her friends' spaces and only use her areas for any future experiments. As her school year goes on, she encounters more issues, which eventually turned trouble. When the Trix learned that Bloom was the Keeper of the Dragon's Flame and successfully stole it from her, Flora learns of Bloom's history and embarks on a mission to Domino to support Bloom as she searches for answers. There, she explores the abandoned, cold castle and learned more of what had transpired on the planet. After speaking with her sister, Daphne and learning her biological parents were still alive somewhere, Bloom regained her strength and determination. However, after returning from the mission, Flora had to deal with another problem - a war against the Trix, who sought to conquer all of Magic Dimension, starting with the three schools and Magix. Flora fought tirelessly and as the Trix drew near her school, which also became a refuge for Cloud Tower and Red Fountain, she was ready to fight with all her might and when Bloom returned with Sky as they bought time for Griffin and her students to escape, she was overjoyed to be reunited with her friend who had also recovered her powers. Though the war was long, Evil was defeated and she watched the Trix get sent to Fortress of Light for their crimes. She then attends the victory party with everyone.
