Floofty Fizzlebean

Floofty Fizzlebean is a 31 year old biologist. They are a grumpus, which is an odd sort of muppety thing. They are sarcastic, antisocial, oftentimes rude, misanthropic, self-important, egotistical, and blunt, with a fondness for dark humor. They do not care for other people, preferring their own company to anything else. They’ve cultivated a reputation of being somewhat… scary, “creepy,” and though they don’t do much to dispute it, they don’t really enjoy the distrust either. They pride themselves on not needing anyone’s approval, but deep down that’s not exactly true. Though they are not extroverted or friendly, they do wish on some level that their peers would respect them, or even like them. They’re somewhat lonely, even if they’d never admit it, even to themselves. They have a younger brother, Snorpy, who they no longer talk to. Their relationship was always rife with sibling rivalry, but six years ago it collapsed into full out animosity. They were hired onto a government project together, but discovered that their research was being used for less than ideal purposes. Snorpy tried to blow the whistle on the scheme despite Floofty’s warnings, but it wasn’t successful. The two were blacklisted from the scientific community, and while Snorpy became a paranoid recluse, Floofty took to a life of fighting for whatever scrap of funding they could get, often from less than reputable places. It left them more jaded and disconnected than they’d been previously. Though they’d never call themselves desperate, they… really sort of are. Recently, they’ve found themself living on a deserted island settlement with a number of other people (including, by chance, Snorpy and his boyfriend Chandlo), studying an odd new form of creature called Bugsnax. Floofty is planning for this to be their big break, their chance to finally do something worthwhile, but the growing distrust among the settlers combined with the recent disappearance of expedition leader Lizzbert and her partner Eggabell doesn’t speak of bright things on the horizon.
