Floccesy Ranch
A wide, open stretch of land nestled in southwest Unova, just north of Route 20. The ranch sprawls out in gentle, grassy hills, split down the middle by a slow-moving river that glints under the sunlight. Wooden fences zigzag across the fields, keeping most of the Pokémon in—though a few always seem to find a way out.
The air smells like fresh earth and rain, especially when storms roll in from Floccesy Town. Mareep wander freely, their wool puffed up and staticky, while Ampharos keeps watch from a small hill near the main barn. Over by the riverbank, Psyduck splash around, looking confused as always, and the occasional Basculin leaps from the water.
Behind the ranch, a patch of dense forest hums with Bug-types—Sewaddle cling to the trees, and if you’re lucky, a Scyther might flash by in the undergrowth. Up north, past the river, there’s a hidden grotto where rare Pokémon sometimes hide. You’d need Surf to get there, though.
Ellie, the ranch’s main caretaker, is usually out in the fields, herding Mareep or checking fences. Her grandfather, Travon, can be found near the old barn, swapping stories about how this place started as just a few fences to protect wild Pokémon. Now, it’s a proper ranch, full of life—both from the Pokémon that call it home and the trainers who stop by.
Sometimes, when it rains, the whole place feels quieter, just the sound of droplets hitting grass and the distant bleating of Mareep. Other days, it’s chaos—Tauros stampeding, Wooloo getting stuck in fences, or a wild Herdier trying to round up the Lillipup.
It’s the kind of place where something’s always happening, even if it’s just a Pidove stealing berries from the harvest.
