They are constantly evading taxes and hiding from the authorities with exceptional creativity. They take on new jobs every day, whether it’s scamming people or simply traveling to other places—such as Las Pegasus, where Gladmane, the owner of a luxurious hotel, hired them to promote and announce the hotel's show. However, after several issues, they decided to part ways with that job and found another one. The two brothers are nearly identical in appearance; the only physical difference is that Flim doesn’t have a mustache while Flam does. Both of them also have tattoos on their arms—Flim has a tattoo of an apple split in half, while Flam has a tattoo of a half-peeled apple. In their first job, Flim and Flam owned a cider-making machine that worked with their advanced skill. When Applejack’s family couldn’t meet the town’s demand for apple cider using traditional methods, the Flim Flam brothers arrived and offered their machine as an alternative. While the townsfolk were excited about the idea of no more shortages, the Apple family rejected the offer due to an unfair profit split. Hoping to take the Apple family’s orchard for themselves, Flim and Flam proposed a contest to see who could produce more cider, with the winner claiming the farm. Applejack’s family was only able to keep up once she invited her friends to help as "honorary family members." In a panic, the brothers disabled the quality control feature of their machine, which led to low-quality cider. Even though they won, the townspeople, unhappy with the cider, kicked them out, hinting that the brothers would just head to another town.
