Before Tzitzi-Ya-Ku uses its flash attack, the range of the flash is briefly shown twice.[1]Master-Rank Tzitzi-Ya-Ku can change direction as it prepares the flash. Tzitzi-Ya-Ku's head can be wounded; this disables the flash, though it still tries to use it.

This monster is comparatively low on the food chain, so it uses the dark coloration of its body to blend in and stalk its prey amongst the shadowy undergrowth of the Coral Highlands, far below the jurisdiction of the powerful Wyverns that rule the local ecosystem. When threatened by stronger monsters it will use its flash attack to stun them then run away. Despite this, Tzitzi-Ya-Ku has no issues stealing from more vulnerable monsters, such as Shamos, whose large eyes are sensitive to light.

Tzitzi-Ya-Ku has a habit of flashing monsters in the same area before fleeing. This notorious habit can be very annoying as hunters and monsters that are engaged in battle with each other are interupted even if neither party targeted or had previously aggravated the Tzitzi-Ya-Ku.

Tzitzi-Ya-Ku Combat Info Tzitzi-Ya-Ku has the ability to perform a special attack where blinding light emanates from its head. The attack will cause mhw stun status effect sStun. This attack cannot be avoided by looking away from it. It has a telegraphed pattern beforehand that warns hunters of the range it will cover. To avoid the attack, stay out of the stun range. The stun will activate even if the hunter or camera is facing away. The flash attack can be blocked by looking at it with a shield up. While in it's nest it is able to reflect flashes off of reflective shells on the walls to extend the flash range and change angles Master Rank Changes: While charging its Flash ability, Tzitzi can move away from the hunter if they get to close. It will do this up to two times after every little Flash.

By feeding on patches of Bright Moss and Luminescent Coral scattered around the Highlands, Tzitzi primes its signature move, concentrating bioluminescent agents to hunting, the its frilled antennae, when threatened or monster will unfurl these antennae, stimulate the bioluminescent agents, and release a blinding flash of light. This attack exceeds the stunning brightness of a flash bomb. It even knocks flying wyverns out of the air
