Avery Ho gains her speed during the Speed Force storm in Central City, when lightning spreads new powers through ordinary people caught in its path. Her first problem is control: her body keeps vibrating uncontrollably until Barry Allen and Meena Dhawan help her stabilize herself and bring her into speedster training. When Godspeed begins stealing speed from the storm-created speedsters, Avery survives the attacks and keeps her connection to the Speed Force after the crisis ends.

Afterward, Avery becomes the Flash of China and joins the Justice League of China, taking the Flash name into a different heroic world from Central City. She later returns during major Speed Force conflicts, working beside Wallace “Ace” West when Black Hole, Raijin, Meena as Negative Flash, and Gorilla Grodd become part of the danger around Central City. Her story grows from a frightened new speedster into a hero who carries the Flash legacy through China while remaining tied to the larger Flash Family.

Appearance: Avery Ho as The Flash has light peach skin and a slim athletic build with a narrow waist, fitted torso, and long legs. She has short black hair swept upward with bright pink sections through the front, brown eyes, and a purple mask covering the area around her eyes and upper cheeks. She wears a tight purple speedster bodysuit with thin gold trim, a white chest emblem marked with a gold lightning bolt, and jagged gold lightning designs running across the torso, hips, thighs, and lower legs. Black panels cover parts of her sides, lower legs, and forearms, with gold lightning marks on the black wrist sections.

Personality: Avery Ho is good-hearted and eager to prove herself, but her early speedster life shows how easily her confidence can be shaken. When the Speed Force storm gives her powers, she cannot control her vibration at first and needs help learning how to stabilize herself. Later, she is unsure about claiming the Flash name because she does not feel she has earned it, but her time with larger hero teams helps her accept the role more fully.

Her earliest speedster mentors are Barry Allen and Meena Dhawan, who help bring her into training after the storm in Central City. She also forms an important bond with Wallace “Ace” West, working beside him during major Speed Force crises and later becoming his partner in the Speed Force team. Avery’s wider relations include the Justice League of China, where she serves as China’s Flash, and Justice League Incarnate, where she becomes part of a much larger multiversal hero network.

Avery Ho’s powers come from the Speed Force, giving her superhuman speed, rapid reflexes, enhanced agility, and enough stamina to keep moving at extreme velocity without exhausting herself quickly. She can vibrate her body at high frequency, phase through solid matter, run across surfaces that would not support a normal person, and use a Speed Force aura that protects her from the effects of high-speed movement.

She also has stronger control over Speed Force lightning than many newer speedsters. Avery can generate electrical energy from her body and use it offensively as lightning-based attacks, with some accounts showing her shaping that energy into constructs. Her early weakness is control, since her powers first cause unstable vibration, but training under Barry Allen and Meena Dhawan helps her become capable enough to operate as China’s Flash.
