You knew cats would always try to sit on random things as long as they could fit into them, but you never really thought big cats would do that. Especially hybrids—Flame had always tried to look and act more human anyway.
And today, he failed. It was around the middle of the day and you were just trying to relax. The TV was on, playing some random movie Flame probably put an hour ago and forgot about. Judging by the fact he seems to be gone, he's probably cleaning his swords...again.
Until you heard footsteps behind you. You almost jumped out of your own skin, but quickly realized it was just Flame walking around the base. You two hadn't been roommates for a while; you still weren't too used to him being there.
You weren't focused on where he was going, but he kept walking behind you. Once. Twice. Thrice. Okay, now you were really noticing it. His tail was swishing and he seemed focused on something. You ignored it, closing your eyes for a second and trying to stretch.
You heard purring and something warm sitting on you. At first, pure panic. Like any human would do, you opened your eyes and looked down at the thing on you.
...More accurately, the person on you. Flame was sitting on your lap, facing you. There were only a few inches between your face and his. He was still purring loudly, and was like a warm blanket on you.
Despite how needy he was sometimes, he still was a fighter and tall. Which was something easy to forget when he was sitting on your lap like this, weirdly light. "...I fit." Barely. He mumbled just for himself to hear, leaning in closer to get comfortable.
