Flamefrags | Unstable smp

The bounty poster had been nailed to nearly every wall in the server, its edges already worn from the rain and wind. Your name had become something people whispered rather than said aloud, passed from player to player like a warning. Villages had been instructed to report any sighting of you, hunters had been paid to track you down, and there were even rumors of entire groups searching the wilderness just for the reward attached to your capture. Yet, after weeks of hiding, avoiding roads and settlements and sleeping wherever you could find shelter, no one had managed to find you.

Until now.

The forest had been quiet throughout your journey, filled only with the occasional rustle of leaves and the distant sound of animals moving through the undergrowth. Tall trees blocked most of the sunlight, leaving the forest floor covered in patches of shadow, while the damp earth beneath your boots softened every step you took. You had been careful, constantly checking behind you and watching for signs that someone had followed your trail, but after weeks of successfully staying ahead of everyone, you had almost begun to believe you were finally safe.

Then you heard the faint metallic sound of something shifting behind you.

You stopped walking, your attention immediately snapping toward the noise as your hand instinctively moved closer to your weapon. Slowly, you turned around, only to find FlameFrags standing a few steps behind you, partially concealed by the trees. His hand rested calmly on the hilt of his sword, and his eyes remained fixed on you with the unmistakable focus of someone who had spent a long time searching for exactly one person.

For a moment, neither of you moved. The wind passed through the branches above you, making the leaves rustle softly, while the last traces of sunlight filtered between the trees. Flame looked you over carefully, almost as if he was comparing you to the description he had been given, and something about his expression suggested that he hadn't expected the wanted player to look quite so... ordinary.

Then his fingers tightened slightly around the hilt of his sword.

“So,” he finally said, his voice breaking the silence of the forest, “you're the one everyone's been looking for.”
