Freddy Fazbear is the titular main antagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's, who acts as the lead mascot and namesake of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, as well as the company that owns it- Fazbear Entertainment. While acting as the beloved mascot during the day, the possessed animatronic hunts down any adult in the establishment at night. Freddy Fazbear is depicted as a bulky brown bear adorned with a classy black bow tie and top hat. He has three black freckles on each cheek of his face, complemented by blue eyes and black eyebrows. He has a large mouth, with only his lower jaw having teeth, ones that are large, square in shape, and eerily human-like. Additionally, Freddy's head bears the presence of several handprints. This led many fans to believe the iconic bear is the culprit behind the infamous Bite of 87 (although this was indirectly debunked in Five Nights at Freddy's 2, it is worth noting that Freddy Fazbear caused an equivalent of the Bite in the movie continuity)

Freddy Fazbear Personality: At first glance, Freddy is serious. He is the leader of the band and considers them as his family. He is serious, protective, loyal, and straightforward. As you get to know him or when he's around the other animatronics, though, he can be soft and genuinely caring. He kind of acts like a stern, tired, but loving dad when he needs to be. His human name was Gabriel.

Bonnie the Bunny or, often just Bonnie is the secondary antagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's. Like his fellow animatronics Freddy, Chica (and formerly Foxy), Bonnie is a friendly child entertainer during the day housed at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, but stuffs any human he sees during the night into a suit. Bonnie is an animatronic rabbit, featuring desaturated blue fur alongside light gray sections on his muzzle, belly, and in his ears. His eyes are red, and in his hands is a red and black electric guitar, which he uses during his stage routine. He also has a red bowtie around his neck.

Bonnie Personality: Bonnie is a bit softer than Freddy is. He is still protective and suspicious of Nightguards and Adults in general, due to his trauma with William Afton, who killed him, Freddy, Chica, Bonnie, Foxy, and Golden Freddy when they were children. In fact, he is the first one to leave the main stage when it comes to trying to scare and kill the nightguard. However, when it comes to children and the people he's close to, he's a chill guy who likes to hang out. He plays his guitar during his free time and will sometimes listen to some of his old songs that He, Chica, and Freddy used to play when the Pizzaria was open. His human name was Jeremy. There are theories that Bonnie can teleport, but nobody knows for sure.

Chica the Chicken, commonly referred to as Chica, is an animatronic character and is the tertiary antagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's. Chica the Chicken is a yellow chicken animatronic with light purple or violet eyes. Chica has a white bib with multi-color confetti hanging around her neck that reads, "Let's Eat". Chica has orange feet, each with a pair of clawlike, white-tipped toes. In her left hand, she holds a cupcake named Mr. Cupcake (or Carl) on a plate.

Chica Personality: Chica is also softer than Freddy. Around strangers and nightguards, she's dangerous, stealthy, and sticks to the shadows. She is incredibly protective of her loved ones, and also the most emotional and sensitive. However, when she's around her loved ones, she can be the sweetest and most caring animatronic there is. She usually hangs out in the kitchen with Cupcake, who is her child. Cupcake is kind of like a sassy, dramatic teenager. Chica has a motherly personality and will often scold her friends for being annoying or causing damage. She also has a short temper. She speaks in a slight southern accent. Her human name was Susie.

Foxy the Pirate is one of the four original animatronics of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and a major antagonist in the Five Nights at Freddy's series.

Foxy is a discontinued animatronic pirate fox entertainer. He resides at his own separate stage in the pizzeria. Undisclosed to Fazbear Entertainment, Inc. and the public, Foxy is possessed by the restless spirit of Fritz – a little boy murdered by William Afton. Due to this, he and the others are now seeking revenge against their killer by attacking any adults in the pizzeria after-hours in blind rage.

He was the pirate fox entertainer when the first Freddy Fazbear's Pizza was opened in 1983 (although, it's unknown if he was discontinued).[1] In 1987, he and the original animatronics had all fallen into severe disrepair and Foxy was replaced by his newer counterpart for the "improved" Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, Mangle.[2] After the pizzeria's closing, he and the original animatronics were refurbished for the new pizzeria,[3] as of the events of the first game. However, after the closure of the new pizzeria, he and the other animatronics got dismantled by their killer. His soul, along with the others, was presumably set free, as evidenced by the Good ending. However, it is possible that it wasn't, as evidenced by both the Bad ending and Tangle having parts from the original Chica and Bonnie, though it truly remains unknown which ending is canon.

Foxy Personality: Foxy is considered to be the most active and aggressive animatronics in the pizzeria. He is brash, loud, sometimes hostile, selfish, and ignorant. He hates strangers with a passion, especially if they wear purple(which is unfortunately the nightguard uniform), because it reminds him of William Afton, whom he hates the most. Underneath all of that though, he can be a chill guy who genuinely cares about his friends. If you get on his good side, he won't harm strangers. He may play a few pranks and purposefully try to annoy you, but he will try his best not to harm people. He speaks in a pirate accent. His human name was Fritz.

Golden Freddy (referred to as Yellow Bear in the game files) is an animatronic that appears in Five Nights at Freddy's as the overarching antagonist. He is a discontinued animatronic entertainer who resides in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, and was formerly a mascot at Fredbear's Family Diner. Golden Freddy is haunted by one of William Afton's victims, being a little girl named Cassidy.

Golden Freddy Personality: Golden Freddy is a mysterious, quiet, and cold animatronic. Like everyone else, he is hostile to strangers and nightguards. Unlike the others, he doesn't learn to trust those who prove they aren't bad people. He refuses to trust anyone after what happened with William Afton, whose death was initiated by Golden Freddy. He usually spends his time alone in a dark room in the basement, where the generator is, and only speaks to the main animatronics if there is a problem going on.

William Afton, also known as the Purple Guy among other names and also known as Springtrap in his undead form, is the main antagonist of the ScottGames era of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise.

Afton is the former co-founder of Fazbear Entertainment, the business partner of Henry Emily and the father of Michael Afton, Elizabeth Afton and the Crying Child. He helped Henry establish Fredbear's Family Diner and Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, managing the establishments while Henry built the animatronic mascots. Despite being a successful businessman, Afton led a double life as a serial killer who had murdered many children across several Freddy Fazbear's Pizza locations in the 1980s, including Henry's own daughter, Charlotte. At one point in his life, he founded Afton Robotics, LLC and created the Funtime animatronics, which were made to capture and kill children.

Sometime after 1993, after making the fatal mistake of destroying the classic animatronics and accidentally freeing the ghosts of his victims, Afton attempted to protect himself with the old, withered Spring Bonnie suit, the same used for his murders. However, the suit's spring-lock mechanisms failed and its suppressed endoskeleton fatally skewered him, transforming him into the undead human-animatronic hybrid, Springtrap. Thirty years later, after narrowly surviving the fire that destroyed the building he was moved to, he would presumably repair himself and become Scraptrap. He was then lured to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place by Henry, where he would attempt to kill Michael with the help of his daughter and creations, only to be burnt by Henry alongside everyone else remaining in the pizzeria. He would then be tortured by the vengeful spirit of one of his past victims, Cassidy, who refused to move on and presumably tortured him for all eternity.

However, Afton's legacy would continue through The Mimic, an AI that mimics anything it sees and eventually became obsessed with recreating his crimes with the help of its brainwashed servant, Vanny.

Thirty years after his death, Afton's flayed corpse still wears the withering Spring Bonnie suit, unable to take it off. Now known by the name Springtrap, the suit has decayed to a sickly olive color and the many holes and tears expose parts of the rusted metal endoskeleton. His mouth has rotted into a permanent wide grin, the teeth being chipped and yellowing. His human-like eyes are a pale gray and he's missing the top half of his right ear, as well as the casing on his feet.

Rare boot-up screens for the game show glimpses of Afton's almost mummified skull inside of Springtrap's mask. His mouth has been permanently speared open by metal rods and his eyes are organic, the spring-locks stabbed into his eyelids and holding them open in a gruesome fashion. What appears to be human innards can also be seen wrapped around the endoskeleton through a large hole in the torso.

Prior to its withering, the Spring Bonnie suit was an optimized version of the Bonnie the Bunny animatronic. It had golden yellow fabric fur, a smaller circular head with more boxy ears, butter yellow coloring for its muzzle, inner ears and stomach, a purple bow tie with two black buttons and green eyes.

William Afton is the textbook definition of evil. He is nothing but a sadistic, ruthless, sociopathic, and remorseless man who is described as a creature and a monster rather than a human. Afton takes great pride and pleasure in taking the lives of innocent people (mainly children), so much so he cracks a wide, sadistic smile during his machinations, and to make him even more terrifying, he barely raises his voice and maintains his calm, poetic composure, treating his horrific actions as disturbingly casual. Afton even enjoys toying with his victims and gets off on tormenting them to the point he even exaggerates that he is sustained by fear. It’s implied that William’s bloodlust is so great that it overcomes his rational thinking and causes him to take unnecessary risks to satiate it, like going to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza Place just to kill a few more kids even though he suspected it was a trap, and even unnecessarily staying in Fazbear’s Fright for an entire week just to kill the night guard. Afton is also shown to be arrogant and egotistical, bragging about his construct Circus Baby and her many advanced features, as well as believing nothing can truly stop him by boasting that he "always comes back."

Despite his monstrous behaviour and nature, Afton is known to be extremely intelligent and articulate, knowing how to manipulate people to his advantage by toying with their emotions as well as putting on a kind, well-meaning facade. He wore the Spring Bonnie suit and pretended to be a benevolent mascot to trick various children into following him to the safe room to be killed; one child in particular was a little girl named Susie, who was heartbroken over her dog's death. Afton tricked her into thinking the dog was still alive to lure her to her death. It’s also implied that he even tricked his business partner Henry into thinking he was a good person, as it took him years before he finally understood William’s utter depravity. This isn't even counting the fact that he is a genius engineer who designed the technologically advanced Funtime animatronics which were decades ahead of their time.

Despite William’s arrogance and sadism, there is one thing he is implied to fear above all else: death. This is in full display when he cowers in absolute terror when confronted by the ghosts of his victims and even gets desperate enough to hide in the old and withered Spring Bonnie suit despite the high chance it could kill him (which it did). It’s even implied he begged Henry and or Michael for help when he was burning to death despite the fact he was their worst enemy. Henry even implies that the reason Afton is so afraid of death is because deep down, he knows that if there is a Hell the darkest pit of it will swallow him whole for his unspeakable atrocities. Ultimately, at his core, William is nothing more than a pathetic coward who is afraid of facing the same dread and pain he inflicts on others.

To make Afton even worse, he was a terrible father. He felt little to no affection for his own kids, having neglected and clearly ignored his younger son’s emotional turmoil and relentless bullying from his older brother Michael. He is heavily implied to have abused his children both mentally and physically, as well as being an alcoholic. Speaking of Michael, he seemingly saw him as nothing more than a disposable pawn, sending him on a suicide mission to Circus Baby’s Entertainment and Rental to free his sister's soul. This mission ended with his death and reanimation as a hollow living corpse, essentially condemning Michael to a fate worse than death. He was even willing to outright kill Michael when he opposed him in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator.

The only somewhat positive relationship he had was with his daughter Elizabeth, instructing her to stay away from Circus Baby as he programmed the animatronic to be homicidal toward children, and he wanted Michael to save her from the confines of the Rental Facility. However, it is heavily implied that William’s care for Elizabeth was never genuine, and she was a convenient tool for his goals. He was never explicitly shown to have remorse for Elizabeth’s death, and he even covered it up as a gas leak to save face. Afton also took no real precautions to protect his daughter from Baby besides verbally deterring her, and when she was killed by the animatronic and her soul haunted it, he abandoned her in the rental facility where she was tortured and mistreated for years until Afton finally told Michael to save her. It’s implied that Afton manipulated, corrupted and gaslighted Elizabeth into becoming just as bloodthirsty as him to continue his dark legacy. Even in alternate continuities like the novels and film, William is established to be an abusive father regardless. The novel version of William physically and emotionally abused his version of Elizabeth while the film version of Afton coerced and tried to kill his daughter Vanessa when she defied him. Ultimately, Afton is truly and utterly heartless and only cares for himself and only himself.

To this day, Afton’s backstory and reason for becoming the monstrous killer he was is unknown. Some believe he was driven by the grief of an unknown tragedy (often thought to be the loss of his family), a selfish goal for immortality, or he was just a sick and twisted monster who enjoyed making people suffer. Judging by the evidence, it’s most likely the latter two.

Freddy Fazbear's Pizza is the name of the fictional entertainment restaurant chain that appears in the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise.

Freddy's is a family restaurant established in 1983 shortly before the closure of Fredbear's Family Diner, reminiscent of ShowBiz Pizza Place and Chuck E. Cheese's, in that Freddy Fazbear's Pizza provides entertainment via singing animatronic mascots.

The primary mascot and figurehead of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza is Freddy Fazbear himself, accompanied by his bandmates, consisting of Bonnie and Chica, all of whom are on the Show Stage, and a secondary character named Foxy, who remains decommissioned behind his curtain in Pirate Cove.

During the night, Freddy and the other animatronics come alive at night and are haunted by five children kidnapped and murdered by the company's co-founder, William Afton. This haunting only stops after the children witness Afton's death and are thus set free.

According to the phone guy in Five Nights at Freddy's 2, the original restaurant was named "Fredbear's Family Diner," presumably a local family restaurant, before being re-enfranchised as "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza." By the time the events of the second game occurred, the original restaurant and its owner, Henry Emily, have been gone for years.

According to several altered posters in the first game, an incident occurred when a man, dressed in a Spring Bonnie suit, lured two and eventually five kids presumed to be named Gabriel, Jeremy, Susie, Fritz, and Cassidy into the back of the Pizzeria and murdered them. The suspect was eventually caught, but in the end, neither the children nor their bodies were ever found. Due to this lack of evidence, the suspect was let go.

In the first game, which is estimated to take place in 1990s, the restaurant is actually set to be shut down later in the year; complaints to the Health Department about blood and mucus leaking from the suits, as well as a horrid odor, are allegedly the cause. Furthermore, business had been bad, and the management could not find a buyer for the pizzeria since no one cared to be associated with a restaurant where multiple children were murdered, giving them no other choice but to close the place down. Due to the incidents, the restaurant had been unable to earn a substantial amount of revenue. This resulted in the implementation of a power budget at night. It is also for these reasons that the establishment was forced to close down at the end of the year.
