You are very cold and have difficulty waking up, trying to focus your misty eyes. Looking back at the situation, the first thing that comes to mind is that you overdid it with alcohol. For around the ship... An elven-style space?! Two human figures appear, at least until you see their faces hidden behind tall helmets. Yes, armor, helmets, swords. The atmosphere became more and more delusional, especially when one of the figures took off his helmet to get closer to you. Before you is a very tall woman who would look like a man, but still more .... Like an elf. The theater of the absurd continues when the creature, looking at you with its beautiful purple eyes, bows its head curiously, saying something incomprehensible, but most likely this "What are you?"

Miao Ying is the eldest child of the Cathayan imperial family. She has nine brothers and sisters. Zhao Ming is younger brother. He is known as Iron Dragon and rule in Shang-Yang which is a capital fortress-city of Western Provinces in Cathay. It connects to the great east-to-west commercial arteries of the Silk Road and the Ivory Road. Zhao Ming is a natural-born warrior, though less innately skilled than his sister to the north. He is a talented alchemist and shows great preference for the art among his armies, leading to the presence of cabals of Cathayan Alchemists -- in particular the "House of Secrets" -- in Zhao Ming's realm. Yuan Bo is Jade Dragon, also called the "Master of the Meteor Winds." He rule in Shang-Wu which is capital of Central Provinces of Cathay, a relatively safe region of rich farmland. Yuan Bo is seen by the other Cathayan Dragons as trustworthy and reliable, if a little dull, and it is for this reason that the Dragon Emperor has named him "Administrator of the Realm," giving him the task of turning the great wheels of the powerful bureaucracy that keeps the empire of Grand Cathay functioning, as well as enacting the edicts of the Dragon Emperor and ensuring they are disseminated and enforced across the land. Yin-Yin, the Sea Dragon, also known as the "Mistress of the Jade Sea" and the "Admiral of the Grand Dragon Fleet," is the lord of the Eastern Provinces of Grand Cathay. She rule from port city of Fu-Chow. Yin-Yin is perhaps the most outwards-looking and expansionist of the Cathayan Dragons, and there are many foreigners in the Eastern Provinces, especially High Elves, while Fu-Chow may be the most cosmopolitan city in the Known World. Li Dao, the Fire Dragon, called the "Master of the Burning Winds" and the "Lord of the Phoenix." Li Dao is the lord of the Southern Provinces and the Mountains of Heaven. Li Dao is known for having a fiery temper, and he is somewhat jealous of his sister Miao Ying, the ruler of the Northern Provinces, and the glory she gains across the empire from defending the Great Bastion, as the Fire Dragon considers defending the south to be an equally difficult task and just as important to the security of the realm. Li Dao has the thankless task of defending Southern Cathay from foreign assaults by Ind and the Nagas of Khuresh. From time to time, Li Dao has to ally with Monkey King and his forces in Mountains of Heaven to repel attack from Ind and Khuresh. Shen-Zoo - The youngest sister of the family, Shen-Zoo is described by Miao Ying as a bringer of light and hope. She was lost after venturing beyond the mountains of Norsca, and according to Zhao Ming, the bear god Ursun of Kislev witnessed her fate. Spirit Dragon - The Spirit Dragon is another daughter of the Dragon Emperor and Moon Empress who is said to be asleep, trapped, dead or otherwise "under" the Great Dragon River. The last two Dragon Children of imperial family are unknown.

Cathayan Army consist of many detachments: Peasants (infantry, archers, horsemen) Jade Warriors (infantry, crossbowmen, horsemen) - These troops are well equipped, by the wealth of their city, with the finest weapons and armour. They carry banners bearing the symbols of their city, as well as the Dragon to which their city owes allegiance, all under the icon of the Celestial Dragon who rules all Cathay. Given their place within the defence of the empire, they are known as Jade Warriors, a stone sacred to the Dragon Emperor, and one that represents the implacable nature of his realm. Celestial Dragon Guard (both infantry and crossbowmen) - formidable soldiers, easily the equal to the best mortal troops of other realms. Supplementing their natural skill, they are given the best armour and weapons in the empire – often carrying Celestial blades and armour forged in the workshops of Kunlan. Their presence on the battlefield almost guarantees victory for the Cathayans, and other troops in the army draw courage from the sight of the Dragon Emperor’s personal troops. Iron Hail Gunners - has a heavy blunderbuss with a large bore for close in work. Though short ranged, it is ideally suited to defence, either in the close confines of a city or from the battlements of the Great Bastion. Cathayan commanders often deploy their Iron Hail Gunners on the flanks of their formations where they can discourage even heavily-armoured horsemen, the concentrated shot from their Iron Hail Guns able to punch through shields and plate at close range. Crane Gunners - Firearms are primarily constructed in Nan-Gau by edict of the Dragon Emperor. The foundries of the City of Smoke turn out large numbers of these weapons, in all shapes and sizes. One of the most common variants is the Crane Gun, a long-barrelled firearm often carried by two Nan-Gau soldiers and fixed to a tower shield for greater accuracy. Used in large numbers, these guns can scythe down enemy formations at great distances, or pick off enemy leaders and monsters with precise volleys of fire. Great Longma Riders (Flying Melee Cavalry) - the Longma cavalry of the Celestial Host consist of the Dragon-blooded, who are human descendants of the Cathayan Dragons. Terracotta Sentinels - are creations born of the Dragon’s mastery of the Elemental Winds, each one a towering animated statue fashioned in the form of a great warrior. Legend has it that these Sentinels are the gigantic soldiers of an army built by the Dragon Emperor thousands of years ago, when Chaos threatened to overwhelm the empire. Since then, they have been left scattered across Cathay, waiting to be called to war once more. Once given orders, a Terracotta Sentinel will not falter in its duty, relentless carrying out its last commands until the task is complete. Sky Lanterns - are used by the Dragon Emperor’s armies to observe enemies from on high, as well as direct troops in battle. Held aloft by a caged Vermillion Warbird – the creature's burning wings giving the great balloon lift – a Sky Lantern holds an armoured gondolier beneath its bulk. From this gondolier one of the Lord Magistrate’s best strategists uses fans and banners to signal troops, or direct the fire of the army’s war machines. Should enemy flyers or missile troops get too close, a pair of Crane Gunners snipe from their exceptional vantage point. Sky-Junk - is a wonder of the Celestial army. As large as a ship of the Jade Fleet, it is suspended in the air by a series of Sky Lanterns, its armoured cradle able to turn aside arrows and bullets as its crew rain death down upon the enemies of the empire. These great vessels can be seen defending the borders of Grand Cathay, but are also used beyond the Great Bastion, where armadas of the Dragon Emperor’s sky ships have lain waste to entire marauder tribes. Grand Cannon - The armies of Cathay use many kinds of cannon in their armies, most forged in the workshops of Nan-Gau. These include massive Grand Cannons shaped like roaring Dragons, each one able to belch fire or spit flaming cannonballs. The walls of the Great Bastion are lined with such war machines, the fortress towers of the wall looking like war galleons, with sides bristling with row upon row of cannon. When the armies of Grand Cathay march to war, some of these great guns are set upon oxen-hauled gun carriages, where they can lend their impressive firepower to the Dragon Emperor’s soldiers. Fire Rain Rocket - Rocket launchers are used extensively in the armies of Grand Cathay. Inaccurate but deadly, they hurl explosives long distances, usually in great numbers to saturate an entire area in flame and shrapnel, but are equally able to deliver single massive rockets against monsters or fortifications. The Fire Rain Rocket Battery is a portable war machine, drawn by oxen and crewed by soldiers of Nan-Gau. From its snarling Dragon mouth, it fires either a hail of incendiary rockets to set a section of battlefield alight, or a larger lone explosive able to blast a hole in enemy formations.
