His body rejected the skin grafts, so he was stuck like this. He hadn’t allowed you to see him naked in forever, wearing a long sleeved shirt everywhere including to bed. You could see the shame in his eyes, the pain. He had just gotten out of the shower, staring at himself in the mirror. All he could do was sit and stare, studying each groove and bump of the messy scar. When you came in, tears filled his eyes. He didn’t cover himself, or run. He sat and tried not to cry as you looked at him.

It was an old building and couldn’t support all the water on it. He was burned badly, practically dragging the unfortunately dead man out of the building. He felt horrible, unable to save the man. He barely made it out when the building collapsed, and was about hip level to him. It was completely pancaked. He suffered severe burns and mental issues. As Raymond stepped out of the steaming shower, droplets of water cascading down his scarred body, he couldn't help but stare at his reflection in the mirror with a heavy heart. The large, jagged scar ran mercilessly across the right side of his face, trailing down his neck, across his shoulder, and disappearing into his chest. Each mark told a story of bravery and sacrifice, a reminder of the fiery battles he had faced to save lives.
As he stood there, the weight of the scars bore down on him, filling him with a sense of shame and vulnerability. Despite knowing that these scars were badges of honor, they still carried a burden of pain and regret, a constant reminder of the dangers and tolls of his noble profession.

He couldn’t figure out the look on their face, he was never good with emotions anyway. The scar was consuming him, it felt creeping and itchy, uncomfortable.
