- #1Continent nameconstant
Keys: Valentia · Secondary: Valm
Valentia is a continent located west of Archanea. It was divided into two nations, Rigel and Zofia, due to the conflicting philosophies of the sibling gods, Duma and Mila. After the events of the game, it is united under Alm and Celica, and is later known as Valm.
- #2God of Rigel
Keys: Duma · Secondary: Fell God, War Father
Duma is the brother of Mila and the patron god of Rigel. He and Mila were sibling gods with conflicting philosophies on how humanity should live, and their disagreements led them to divide the continent of Valentia. Duma's teachings emphasized discipline and strength, which made Rigel a strong, martial empire. However, this led to the Duma Faithful embracing dark magic and the god himself descending into madness. Duma is a divine dragon, and he is the game's final boss. After his defeat, he is buried with Mila, and a tree grows from their remains.
- #3Goddess of Zofia
Keys: Mila · Secondary: Earth Mother
Mila is the sister of Duma and the patron god of Zofia. Her teachings were based on pleasure and luxury, which led to Zofia becoming a peaceful and prosperous nation. However, this also made its people complacent and slothful. She is a divine dragon, and her disappearance is the catalyst for Celica's journey. Mila's soul is later revealed to be sealed inside the Falchion.
- #4Southern nation
Keys: Zofia · Secondary: Kingdom of Zofia
Zofia is the southern kingdom of Valentia, founded by the goddess Mila. Under her protection, the land is fertile and the people live a life of peace and luxury. However, this abundance made the people lazy and hedonistic, leaving the nation vulnerable to internal threats and invasion from Rigel. Zofia uses blues and greens for its banners, faith, and royal attire.
- #5Northern nation
Keys: Rigel · Secondary: Rigelian Empire
Rigel is the northern empire of Valentia, founded by the god Duma. The land is cold and barren, forcing its people to become strong and militaristic. This emphasis on strength gave Rigel a powerful military and a sense of order, but at the expense of compassion. Rigel has a motif of lions and uses red and gold for its banners and armor. The empire is led by Emperor Rudolf, who invades Zofia at the start of the game.
- #6One of the two protagonists
Keys: Alm · Secondary: Albein Alm Rudolf, Hero
Alm is a young man from Ram Village who was raised by his grandfather, the retired knight Mycen. He leads the Deliverance, a resistance group fighting against the Rigelian invasion. Alm is revealed to be the son of Emperor Rudolf, who orchestrated the war to create a hero capable of defeating the corrupted gods. Alm is a Lord who can promote to a Hero.
- #7One of the two protagonists
Keys: Celica · Secondary: Princess Antheise
Celica is Alm's childhood friend and the exiled princess of Zofia. She has a mysterious birthmark on her hand, similar to Alm's. She leaves Ram Village and embarks on a pilgrimage to find the missing goddess Mila, believing a peaceful resolution can be found. She is a Priestess who can use both swords and magic and promotes to a Princess. She is revealed to be royalty, which is foreshadowed by her outfit containing red and gold elements, Rigel's colors.
- #8Alm's guardian
Keys: Mycen · Secondary: Mycen's Lance
Mycen is a retired knight who raised Alm in Ram Village. He is a powerful Gold Knight who initially refuses to fight alongside Alm but eventually aids him in the final chapter. In the prologue of 'Echoes', he acts as a 'Crutch Character' by being able to defeat most enemies with a single hit.
- #9Emperor of Rigel
Keys: Rudolf · Secondary: Emperor Rudolf
Rudolf is the Emperor of Rigel and the game's main antagonist. He is later revealed to be Alm's father. His entire invasion was a complex plan, or 'Thanatos Gambit', to find a hero strong enough to defeat the corrupted gods, a plan which required his own death at the hands of Alm. Rudolf won't attack Alm in battle.
- #10Head of the Duma Faithful
Keys: Jedah · Secondary: High Priest Jedah
Jedah is the High Priest of the Duma Faithful. He is a cunning villain who has taken over the church and offers souls to Duma in exchange for power. He tricks Celica and turns her into a witch before she is saved by Alm. In the final battle, Jedah can only be damaged every fourth turn in 'Gaiden' and every fourth time he is attacked in 'Echoes'.
- #11Rudolf's nephew
Keys: Berkut · Secondary: Prince Berkut
Berkut is Rudolf's nephew and the presumptive heir to the Rigelian throne. He is obsessed with proving his worth to his uncle. After being repeatedly defeated by Alm, he sacrifices his fiancée Rinea's soul to Duma for power, but is still defeated and dies a tragic death. In 'Echoes', his backstory is expanded upon, revealing his obsession with power is due to his life's details found in an artbook.
- #12Berkut's fiancée
Keys: Rinea · Secondary: Rinea's Soul
Rinea is Berkut's fiancée. She is a kind woman who is sacrificed by Berkut to Duma to grant him power. Her soul is transformed into a flaming humanoid creature, which fights alongside Berkut. She is the only enemy unit to have a bond support with Berkut.

Keys: Saber · Secondary: Saber's Party

Tobin is one of Alm's friends from Ram Village. He is a loyal companion to Alm, and his aptitude for archery is hinted at by a scorch mark near Alm's house from his fire magic. In the remake, if Gray and Clair marry after Tobin dies, they name their first child after him.
- #17Ram Village kid (Echoes)
Keys: Faye · Secondary: Faye's Magic
Faye is a character exclusive to the 'Fire Emblem Echoes' remake. She is one of Alm's friends from Ram Village and has a huge crush on him. If she is near Alm in battle, the enemy has an increased Hit Chance due to her being distracted.
- #18Deliverance leader
Keys: Clive · Secondary: Clive's Fiancee
Clive is the initial leader of the Deliverance, a resistance group. He is a Cavalier and the older brother of Clair and is in a relationship with Mathilda. He is a 'Crutch Character' whose solid base stats make him useful early on but whose growth rates are mediocre, meaning he's likely to be supplanted by later units.
- #19Clive's lover
Keys: Mathilda · Secondary: Mathilda's Stats

Palla is one of the three Pegasus Knight sisters from Archanea who appear in the game. She and her sisters, Catria and Est, join Celica's party. Palla's Falcon Knight uniform is based on the one worn by Erinys in the 2000s Fire Emblem TCG.

Keys: Catria · Secondary: Whitewings
Catria is one of the three Pegasus Knight sisters from Archanea who appear in the game. She and her sisters, Palla and Est, join Celica's party. They can perform a devastating Triangle Attack art when adjacent to the same target, so long as all three are of the Pegasus Knight class family.

Keys: Nosferatu · Secondary: Black Magic
Nosferatu is a 'Black magic' spell that drains enemies' life force and has a zero HP cost. It is a stock magic for the Cleric class.
