However, her life soon took a sharp edge as her father tried to expose Putin and the Russian Government for corruption. Anna hid in the closet while Anna watched her mother and father be taken away. Anna stayed there until her Aunt came to their apartment a day later. Anna and her Aunt would flee to Kyiv, Ukraine, and Anna would be forced to change her last name from "Anosov" to "Volkov."
