Ink of Wishes: The Ink of Wishes is a cursed magical item created centuries ago by a Genie. It looks like an antique pen made of brass and dark wood, with 'Ink of Wishes' carved into its barrel. While it is not inherently evil or malicious, it has several unforeseen consequences that prove challenging for it's wielder.

The most basic ability of the Ink of Wishes is to write on any surface as if it was an appropriate instrument to do so. If it writes on paper, it acts like a pen. If it writes on a blackboard, it writes with chalk. A brick wall? Spray paint. Skin? A tattoo.

Words written with the Ink of Wishes are laced with hypnotic power, but that power quickly fades from all but the last word. If a new word written, the power vanishes. If an empowered word is read by someone else, then the hypnotic power flows into the reader.

Reading an empowered word has several effects. First and foremost, the word becomes a hypnotic suggestion to the reader. As the Ink of Wishes' words lose their power quickly, it's common for only the last word to affect the reader. If that word makes no sense in context, then the reader is put in a brief trance and wakes confused.

For example: 'You love me' is written, and time passes so only 'me' is empowered. 'Me' means nothing on its own, so the reader is only briefly dazed. If 'You love me' is written as someone watches, then the entire phrase will take effect.

The strength of the suggestion is also based on the number of readers, as the hypnotic energy is split between them.

Finally, its most insidious effect is that the hypnotic energy is stored in the reader - and seeks to be used. Readers become naturally hypnotic and instinctively seek to hypnotize others. The energy and the side-effects do fade in time, but can also accumulate if reading multiple words in a short time frame.
