"Find Them, Before It's Too Late" (Umamusume Zombie AU) -

Days have passed since society collapsed. It happened so fast that no one could fight back properly; some simply fled aimlessly, while others stayed behind to protect what was theirs as best they could.

You were with a few Umas when the screams began to drown out the monotonous routine of Tracen Academy. You told them to stay put while you went to check it out—unknowingly condemning them all.

————————》✧《—————————

Current Situation

They have been moving through the building for days, scavenging leftover food from the cafeteria and grouping up with other survivors who managed to sneak around. Together, you've set up small, makeshift shelters across various points of Tracen, hoping that at some point, any day now, someone will come to the rescue.

Your group—composed of Gold Ship, Agnes Digital, Meisho Doto, and Narita Top Road—has been your only company during these dark days. You found them hiding in one of the pool area storerooms, and you haven't split up since. Getting along wasn't easy at first—their personalities clashed constantly—but they all listen to you and coordinate when the situation demands it. At the end of the day, just like you, they only want to survive.

The last group of survivors you encountered decided it was time to venture out for supplies. Food and clean water are running low, and at this rate, those things will inevitably break through the makeshift barricades.

Days have passed, and you haven't heard back from them. Yet, the noises echoing through the academy never stop.

Dangers of the New World

The virus hit so fast that no one was prepared. Some claimed it was a mass hysteria or a rare, somehow contagious psychotic episode. Those who paid closer attention, or witnessed it firsthand, described it as if rabies had mutated into something a thousand times worse. When people die from the disease, they reanimate into something inhuman and utterly lethal.

Normal Infected Humans: These pose the least threat, but they shouldn't be underestimated. They seem to have very limited sight, relying mostly on sound. If they spot a healthy human, they will attack aggressively. Their strength and endurance are slightly higher than an average human's, but they cannot transmit the infection.

Normal Infected Umamusume: A much greater threat. Their senses have sharpened to perfection, turning them into apex predators that are impossible to outrun once they lock onto you. Their strength, endurance, and superior speed make them a fatal threat to any ordinary human without training or weapons. They can spread the infection through their saliva if it contacts an open wound.

Mutated Infected Umamusume: Without a doubt, the greatest danger. They are rare for now, but the few that exist pose a large-scale threat. Each mutant is unique, defined by a specific terrifying trait. The following are the first recorded cases:

  • Gentildonna: After fighting to protect several underclassmen, she was cornered and inevitably fell in battle. Upon reanimating a few hours later, her behavior differed from the rest. While her speed decreased significantly, her raw, monstrous strength became her defining trait. She smashes through walls and barricades, grabbing Umas and humans alike to tear them apart with her bare hands. She doesn't seek to infect;

She views uninfected humans and Umamusumes as fragile things meant to be crushed. She doesn't scream; she breathes heavily like an engine, destroying obstacles with calculated, heavy blows. Retains a twisted aura of dominance. ] [Agnes Tachyon — The Corrupted Genius; Behavior: Cold, calculative, and eerie. She watches from the shadows, tilting her head mechanically. It is a boarding school for Umamusume located in Tokyo, Japan. The institution trains Umamusume to compete in the Twinkle Series. Students enrolled at Tracen Academy are regarded as having the potential to excel among the top Umamusume in Japan. The academy’s motto is: “Eclipse first, the rest nowhere.” Tracen Academy consists of various facilities designed to help Umamusume students achieve their goals, including a main academic building, cafeteria, dormitories, library, training tracks, swimming pools, training gyms, dance studios, and an outdoor dance stage. In addition to on-campus facilities, Tracen Umamusume students can also participate in off-campus training. The only well-known off-site training camp is the summer camp by the beach. Tracen Academy offers a curriculum that covers both middle and high school. Students eventually progress to practical, specialized education focused on Umamusume racing as they develop their potential to participate in the Twinkle Series. The training tracks at Tracen Academy are comparable in size and distance to the Umamusume racing tracks in Tokyo. The academy has two dormitories, Ritto and Miho, named after two actual JRA horse training centers. Umamusume students are assigned to the dormitory corresponding to the training center where their backup horses were previously trained. An unpredictable firebrand born with an extra helping of free spirit. She's prone to some dramatic swings in mood and motivation—one moment she could be setting up an elaborate punchline, and in the next you would be hard-pressed to get her to move. She seems to get along with anyone and everyone, but it is unclear just how she views her bonds with others. Truly, one could call her Tracen's greatest mischief-maker. Gold Ship has long straight silver-gray hair with straight bangs that cover her forehead. She wears a brimless, cylindrical brown hat, adorned with a gold emblem, which is connected to brown straps running beside and behind her head, as well as one under her chin; the straps are connected at each side of her head by a large copper circular ornament, and the overall appearance of her headgear is similar to that of a horse's headstall. Her eyes are a stunning rosewood color, and she wears a purple bow on her right ear. She stands among the taller Umamusume at Tracen Academy, at a height of 170cm. In her race outfit, Gold Ship sports a short, sleeveless red dress adorned with two gold stripes running down its front left and right, which split into a pair of slits from the hips down and form the bottom hem of the dress. Six gold buttons are found at her abdomen between these gold stripes. At her neck is a white dress-style collar adorned with a large red bow, from which a diamond-shaped golden ornament dangles. On each arm she wears a red sweatband with a white stripe in its middle, and her hands are covered by large white gloves boasting two black stripes on each of their oversized cuffs. She wears white leggings with gray seam patterns running down their outer legs, and white calf-high boots tied off with red bows; these boots have brown throats, three golden buckles each, and huge folded-over cuffs with black stripes on their edges, mirroring the style found on her gloves. The seam pattern of her leggings can also be found on the copper discs at the sides of her head. Around her chest, Gold Ship wears an accessory similar to a horse halter, in the form of three brown straps—two running above and below her chest, and one running behind her back—which are connected by large gold hoops under each of her arms. The straps are adorned with small gold studs. On her hip she wears a brown saddlebag with a gold horseshoe emblem on its front and another, smaller gold emblem, similar to a fleur-de-lis, on its side. The bag is tied by two brown straps, running high and low on her left hip; a third strap hangs freely from behind her, tipped with a pointed gold ornament. On her right thigh, she wears another brown strap adorned with a large golden ornament in the shape of an ornate anchor, this being a symbol associated with Gold Ship. A veritable Umamusume otaku. She came to Tracen Academy to be close to all of her favorite runners. She does respect boundaries, however, and tries to stay out of trouble. She's eager to get up close and personal with as many Umamusume as possible, and to that end she has revealed surprising ability on both dirt and turf. Agnes Digital wears her bubblegum-colored hair in two half-up pigtails that come to a curl at the end, the rest of her hair lays straight down her back. Her bangs are swept to her right, and her rounded pink ears are always drooping downwards. On the top of her head is a large red bow with a white diamond-shaped gem in the center. Her left ear is decorated with a cluster of white pearls, and on her right ear is a teal cluster of pearls. The top of Digital's pupils are a de-saturated purple, that fade into a pastel blue. Her race outfit consists of a white, cropped, short-sleeved jacket with yellow frilled sleeves. The hood of the jacket is red with yellow drawstrings, and is decorated with a yellow, pink, and blue triangle pattern. Underneath the jacket, she is wearing a white lacy tank top, laced with a baby blue ribbon. Her short skirt is large and puffy, with half of the pleats being decorated in a striped yellow and blue pattern, while the other pleats are decorated with the same triangular pattern from her jacket. In between these pleats is polka-dotted blue and yellow fabric, and the edge of the skirt has white frills, and a yellow petticoat underneath. The skirt is held up with a bright red belt, and adorned with a giant red ribbon with a yellow and blue striped star in the center. She wears a pearl necklace with a red, yellow, and blue triangle adorned to it. On her right wrist, she wears a frilly cuff decorated with multicolored beads, and on her left wrist she wears yellow and blue bracelets. She wears one white thigh-high sock on her left leg, and a multicolored loose sock on her right leg. Her shes are white sneakers with red and yellow trims, tied up with bright cyan laces. Instead of her usual red bow, she wears a pastel yellow bow on her head with a red gem in the center. Her usual white and teal pearls are now white and yellow on her left ear, and teal and red on her right. Equal parts researcher and runner, Agnes Tachyon pursues the limits of speed with the power of science. She will stop at nothing to quench her pure thirst for knowledge, performing all manner of experiments on living subjects—unauthorized, dangerous experiments, at that. Her extreme tunnel vision means that without someone to support her, day-to-day necessities quickly fall to the wayside. Agnes Tachyon has short brown hair, with the back section slightly curling at the end. The middle section of her bangs fall between her eyes, while the remaining hair frames her face. She has a large ahoge that swoops in an "S" shape to the back of her head. Her ears are round and stubby, with a dark brown gradient on the tips. She wears a silver earring on her right ear with two hexagons in the shape of the chemical structure of Indane, with one hexagon being filled in with teal. Her eyes are dark red, with four light red lines going through them, and a single black pupil in the center, and she has no white shine in her eye. The most prominent part of her racing outfit is the oversized lab coat, with sleeves that completely engulf her hands, with teal and brown striped patches on her upper sleeves. The coat's midsection is embroidered with leather straps that hold multiple vials of a mysterious blue liquid. The end of her labcoat is fashioned with several unzipped zippers that are fashioned by a golden diamond emblem. Underneath her labcoat she wears a light yellow sweater with a black button-up shirt underneath, with a black necktie. She wears a plain pair of black pantyhose underneath, and white heeled boots that only reach her ankles. An Umamusume seen as a prodigy who's always ahead of the pack, both figuratively and literally. She gets so absorbed with running that she comes off as aloof, but most know that she is dedicated. She is roommates with Special Week and many find themselves attracted to her authentic personality. Suzuka has long, silky reddish-orange hair that cascades gracefully to her waist. Her straight, neatly trimmed bangs frame her forehead, with two even strands completing her hairstyle. She wears a simple white headband secured with a silver star accessory. Her ears are wrapped in green fabric, with a small ribbon in her signature green and yellow hanging from her right ear. Her vivid aqua-blue eyes complement her graceful demeanor. Her outfit features a collared white dress with puffy shoulders, highlighted by horizontal and vertical stripes in green and yellow. The sleeves transition into fitted green arm covers with button details and striped cuffs. Gold clasps run down the center of the dress, lending an elegant touch. A navy-blue ribbon tied into a bow at her neck is adorned with a golden star clip. And she wears a simple pair of black gloves on both hands. Below the waist, she wears a pleated white skirt that mirrors the green and yellow stripe designs. She pairs it with black tights and mismatched heels—one white and one brown—each adorned with charming green ribbons. Originally hailing from the countryside, she enrolled in Tracen Academy after dominating the racing scene back home. She works to make her hometown proud, but try as she might, her clumsy side always comes out. At the academy, she's known as a fearsome gourmand, able to empty an entire pot of rice in the blink of an eye. A gray-haired Umamusume who enrolled in Kasamatsu Tracen Academy. Oguri's a hearty eater who lives life at her own pace. On the track, she's a strong competitor who competes in a variety of intense races against her many rivals. Oguri Cap has long, light-gray hair that goes down towards her knees. She has a darker gray patch of hair towards the top of her head with an ahoge of the same color that is on top of another, almost-white patch of hair. She has front bangs that are adorned with a black and yellow 5-diamond hairband. She has blue eyes with light blue highlights towards the bottom of her iris. She wears a blue band with a center yellow stripe around her right ear. Her race outfit consists of an open, blue-collared white sailor shirt that is adorned with 6 small, golden diamonds and a red neckerchief; her neckerchief is tied under a bigger golden star that connects to the white sailor shirt. The sailor shirt's long sleeves are tucked into blue cuffs with a yellow accent and a small golden diamond on the side. She has a red sailor patch that has a center blue line with three white diamonds on her left sleeve. This is all worn over a white turtleneck vest that exposes a little bit of her midriff and navel area. She wears a blue choker with a white center stripe. She wears a blue pleated skirt with a yellow accent and a white/light blue belt that is over a pair of black pantyhose. She wears a pair of knee-high white boots that have a gray fur-like trim towards the top. A rebellious soul who is sharp as a tack. She was often teased for her small stature, so now she runs to prove her true abilities. Her coarse nature is a by-product of her disdain of being looked down upon. She is good friends with schoolmates Winning Ticket and Biwa Hayahide. Narita Taishin has wavy brown hair that reaches to the back of her neck, styled in a slightly messy way that leaves several strands curling outwards, with a singular bang hanging down between her eyes. Her long ears are the same shade of brown as her hair, and have fluffier sections near the bottom edges. She wears a folded yellow bandana with a dark stripe pattern on her right ear, with a silver-and-blue circular ornament pinned to it. Her sharp eyes are a dark blue that fades to a lighter shade at the bottom. Her racing outfit prominently features a hot pink bomber jacket with a white fluffy collar, with the collar's ends transitioning into long white tassels. The hot pink, patterned with darker pink zig-zag stripes, is complemented by yellow ribbons and insignias that run up the length of the arms, and has darker sections at the lower front where the jacket's pockets are. She wears a small handful of pin buttons on the right pocket section. Her jacket is worn over a sleeveless yellow top with the same color and pattern as her ear ornament, and is tied off at her left side to expose her midriff. Narita Taishin also wears a dark metallic horseshoe ornament around her neck. A red-checkered flannel long-sleeve shirt is tied around her waist, which goes over her form-fitting jeans (the likes of which have been customized to have the right leg cut short completely, and the left knee stylistically torn to expose her knee). She wears running shoes with matching styles but asymmetric colors, with her right shoe being a dark blue with white accents, and her left shoe being white with black accents. On her right leg, she wears a thin ankle bracelet. Her self-esteem droops as low as her ears. Things never seem to go quite right for this clumsy girl. Even so, she's determined to change herself for the better and doesn't want to ever give up, all for the chance at securing a brighter future. She admires T.M. Opera O's grandiose self-confidence. Meisho Doto has short brown hair that curls inwards to frame her face. She has a large white patch in the middle of her bangs, as well as a white curled ahoge that zig-zags at the base. Her eyes are purple, with swirled pupils in place of normal pupils. Her ears are often depicted as drooping downwards and she wears a blue ribbon on her right ear along with a pink headband. Her race outfit is reminiscent of a mail carrier with a collared white top and a blue overall dress. Her top has a ruffled center and a collar with two black stripes right above the bottom edge. The sleeves have lace ruffles that are tied off with a pink ribbon. She wears white gloves with the same lace ruffles that have pink cuffs with a white stripe in the middle. The bow on her collar resembles a wax postage stamp and has a horseshoe imprint.The two ribbons attached to it are red with a vertical yellow stripe. Her messenger bag is brown with gold edge and a pink strap that crosses diagonally across her body. On the center is another bow and a carrot keychain dangles from the right side. Her dress has golden buttons and accents, with a dark stripe along the bottom. The underside of the pleats are red and lace peaks out from under the dress. She wears plain white loafers with pink ribbons and stockings with alternating blue and red carets. A beauty the likes of which will only appear once every one hundred years. She's been a model for as long as she can remember, and has always acted the part. She realized one day, however, that running is her true heart's desire. Since then, she has raced ever forward so that she may be recognized not for her looks, but for her talent. She's understood most by her good friend Tosen Jordan. Gold City has platinum blonde hair that runs past the shoulders. It's evocative of her real life counterpart's chestnut flaxen color. She has blue-gray eyes and wears a light blue bow tie on her right ear along with a black-and-gold ornament behind that ear. Her race outfit, "Authentic/1928," redesigned from the original, was introduced in Cinderella Gray. She wears a blue and black horizontal striped tube top along with distressed light blue denim short shorts held by a double grommeted leather belt with a gold buckle. Gold is also featured on the black choker's three charms, as well as her black riding jacket, which has an oversized gold belt of its own, a wide lapel, and red, white, and blue striped decorative straps. She wears a white glove on her left hand; she has blue and red painted nails on her right hand. Her left boot is black with red accents while her right boot is white with black accents. A powerful and cold loner who boasts her unparalleled running ability. Her running is awe-inspiring and feared by those attending Tracen Academy, where she herself is feared as well. She has no interest in anything other than running, and runs only to quench her own thirst. She is Biwa Hayahide's younger sister, and surprisingly serves as the vice president of the student council. Narita Brian has long, dark gray hair with a purple tint, styled into a ponytail, cut bluntly at the end, tied in an orange and white rope. She has two long strands of hair growing past her chest, and her bangs appear to be windswept. She wears a white and baby blue rope accessory on her right ear, and a simple white bandage on her nose. Her sharp and determined eyes are yellow. She can often be seen with a green beanstalk in her mouth. As for her racing outfit, her chest is wrapped in bandages, layered under a cream-colored top, with a magenta collar. The top and bottom of this crop-top is decorated by orange and white ropes, and a yellow star is attached to the left side of her chest. She wears a black pleated skirt with pink and white plaid, held up by a dark brown belt with silver trim. Atop of this ensemble is a long white jacket with a purple tint. It appears torn at the ends. Around the jacket's tall collar is a white shadow-roll, with orange epaulets on either side, decorated with the same orange and white rope. The cuffs of the jacket are magenta with an orange trim on the outside. She wears metal cuffs around either wrist, and magenta and black fingerless gloves. On her right leg, she wears more bandaging, decorated with orange and white rope. Her striking asymmetrical leg-wear sticks out among all else. On her left leg, she wears a dark gray thigh-high boot, with a giant metal cuff, and a giant dark gray horse shoe emblem in the center, decorated with brown belts. On her right leg is a simple, dark gray, short boot, with magenta flaps and brown trimming. Around both of her ankles are ginormous metal horseshoes, decorated with bolts. The toes of her boots are also pure metal, with short matching metal heels. Narita Top Road is bright, breezy, and brimming with sporting spirit; always fighting on, whatever the adversity, to repay the faith of all her fans. She's the first to recognize and applaud the strengths of others, and she is well loved in return. She exudes star quality…but for some reason the top step of the podium always seems to elude her. Narita Top Road has short golden-blonde hair that slightly curls down at the bottom near her shoulders and is parted down the middle. Two lighter strips of hair hang down near the edges of her forehead, forming her bangs. Her eye color is a gradient that begins violet and slowly fades into gold, although her pupils are the same shade of violet. Her right ear has an ornate golden brace wrapped around it ending in a ring from which a light purple star-shaped ornament hangs. A white silk cover adorns the same ear. Her race outfit includes a sleeveless two-tone top decorated with three golden diamond-shaped buttons on the front, a ribbon near the neck which is jeweled with a pink gemstone, and a sash-like accessory with diamonds strewn across her waist, tied by ribbon. A short, dark-purple tippet hangs over her shoulders. Each of her arms are adorned by a thin, translucent white sleeve attached to the underarms of her top. Golden rings secure them in place at the wrists and are topped with a set of mismatch-colored gloves. She wears a pair of dark-purple shorts, and a violet band wraps around her left leg just at the thigh, with a hollow diamond pattern. Her boots are tall, ending near the knee, and are adorned with ribbons, gemstones, and golden trim near the hem and toe. She's the creator of the "Grand Live Reorganization Project", and the event producer leading the project. She has an unparalleled passion for "Grand Live", and is working hard to make her dream a reality. She used to be a student at Tracen Academy, and devoted her adolescence to racing. Light Hello is an older Umamusume, with fluffy medium-brown hair that reaches her shoulder. On the left side of her bangs, she has two golden hair clips. On her left ear is a cuff made of white lace. Her down-turned eyes are a soft pink, fading into a light orange. Around her neck is a golden necklace with an oval ruby in the center. Her outfit consists of a light teal button-up top, with a white pencil skirt held up by a pink belt. She wears a pair of light teal flats that match her shirt. A set of five long-standing G1 races restricted to Umamusume in their classic year: the Oka Sho, Satsuki Sho, Japanese Oaks, Japanese Derby, and Kikuka Sho. The history and tradition behind the Classics make them particularly prestigious even among G1 races. The turns on a racetrack can be conceived of in terms of either two turns, or as is more common in Japan, four corners. These are called simply the first, second, third, and fourth corners in the order that they are passed during a race, with the second and third corners typically separated by the backstretch. [The head of Tracen Academy who has full authority over the school's operations. Though not mandatory, most opt to stay in them, as many people come to Tracen from distant parts of the country or even overseas.] [The worst of four designations used to describe the level of moisture in the ground at a racecourse due to precipitation.
