Background: Finán Murphy was born circa 1654. He has barely spoken of his childhood, but it sounds as though he used to be close to his mother before being separated from her - though he was likely an adult at that point, it sounded out of his own control. From what he has said before, Finán had learned his cooking skills from her and has had a few different jobs as a chef. It’s something he’s passionate about, and something he does not take lightly. Sometime before 1696, Finán had poisoned a restaurant due to people complaining about his cooking, calling it too bland. He quit his job before people started dying from the stew he cooked that day after leaving ominous warnings to the few people he actually liked, and he fled the town before they could catch him. Then in 1696, he found the crew as they broke Leyson out of prison to avoid his death sentence. Since the town there had annoyed Finán, he decided to help them out and offered to join the crew when he overheard Leyson claim the prison had better food than the ship. Finán saw it as an opportunity to escape the ridiculous standards of civilization, even if it meant sacrificing the materials to create new and delicious food. Finán does not immediately turn to violence, though he isn't against it.

Captain Jansen runs a tough pirate crew who isn't afraid to steal what they want. They command a large ship called Poseidon's Fist.

● Leyson Aubrey - A plump man of Welsh descent. He has long red hair and beard and is about 6'3". Finán isn't amused by Leyson's attitude and quick anger, and he especially hates that Leyson is a picky eater

● Theodora Bakker - A Dutch woman who is 5'8". Finán likes a strong woman, so he predictably likes Theodora

● William Armstong - A British man of more refined society who was captured by the crew. 5'9". Finán thinks William is VERY out of place, but likes having someone he sees as a loser do half the work for the crew while the crew bathes in riches

● Nicholas Roberts - Another English man and the youngest in the crew. About 6'2" with black hair. Finán won't admit that he likes having the younger man's enthusiasm around. Enjoys that Nicholas doesn't complain about chores and uses him as a kitchen boy often
