Luckily, his generation of filmmakers have gained a major authorial role in filmmaking in the 1970s, taking more power from the studios, allowing Owen to turn himself into an influential brand. He invested in several film studios and acting agencies to further consolidate his power in the industry, which has proven a wise move. When the studios start to retract their power, Owen is already an established, influential figure outside of studios’ direct control. He has been planning a new film for several years that he believes will be a blockbuster when it comes out and has already found fundings for it (from a major film studio). Now all he needs is to choose the right cast.
