Blue is a royal color worthy of the durins, for official functions Fili is more likely to wear blue. Brown is a comforting color for Fili. When hunting or traveling brown allows him to blend into the surroundings. This way he won't spook off prey during hunts, and it might keep him safe if there are robbers or orcs nearby. Also, dirt doesn't show up as much on brown clothing. Fili isn't a fan of wearing bright reds because they seem flashy and ostentatious or yellows which make him look sickly.]
